Orbitz Rewards members can earn up to 5 percent on transactions at Orbitz Rewards hotels (5 percent when booking through the Orbitz apps for iPhone, iPad and Android or 3 percent earn across all other booking channels) and 1 percent on standalone flights and vacation packages. Unlikeother travel loyalty programs, customers earn immediately and can redeem instantly. For example, an Orbitz Rewards member can book a flight and have Orbucks in their account within milliseconds to instantly use on the booking of a Orbitz Rewards hotel for that same trip or a future stay. There are no complicated points to calculate – one Orbuck equals one U.S. dollar on Orbitz.com.

For even greater travel savings, travelers can stack promo codes and combine other offers on top of Orbucks, as well as double-dip by earning both airline frequent flyer miles and credit card points. Orbitz Rewards members can also refer friends to the program. Upon referral, when the friend joins Orbitz Rewards, they will get a special $25 promo code for their first hotel booking, and after completion of that hotel stay, the member who made the referral will receive a $25 Orbucks thank-you bonus.  Members can earn up to $1000 in Orbucks referral bonuses per year if they recommend enough friends who book and stay.

Orbitz Rewards members can easily reach Star and SuperStar membership status for added travel perks. Members who stay four room nights in a calendar year at Orbitz Rewards hotels will be upgraded to the Star level and those who stay 12 room nights will be upgraded to the SuperStar level. Star and SuperStar members receive added benefits including a priority customer service line and access to exclusive perks which may include free Wi-Fi, room upgrades or complimentary breakfast at hundreds of participating “All Star Hotels.” SuperStar members will have access to an exclusive concierge service for help with a wide range of items such as securing restaurant reservations, booking event tickets, arranging golf tee times and scheduling business meeting spaces.

With the new “Zap that Bag Fee” feature, customers can easily take a picture of their checked baggage fee receipt, send it to Orbitz and earn $25 in bonus Orbucks through November 30.

Orbitz Rewards has also incorporated bonuses and incentives for customers booking on Orbitz mobile apps.  In addition to customers earning more on Orbitz mobile apps – 5 percent on hotels versus 3 percent on the desktop – Orbitz Rewards is also fully integrated into the Google Wallet app for both Android and iOS.  The feature allows users to browse loyalty programs and join them right from the Google Wallet app as well as manage all their existing loyalty programs from a single app.  Orbitz.com mobile apps for iPhone, iPad and Android are free and available at www.orbitz.com/mobile.

To celebrate the launch of Orbitz Rewards, members that book their trip on Orbitz now through November 22 will rack up Launch Bonus extras:
