Go golfing with Dad at North Carolina’s Pinehurst Resort.

You know Dad doesn’t need another tie. His tool chest is probably full,too, and he likely has enough grill accessories to cook for the whole neighborhood. Why not think outside the box and treat him to a trip this Father’s Day?

For adventurous dads

Compass Point is known as one of the best diving resorts in the Bahamas. Its location on the East End of Grand Cayman gives divers access to pristine reefs and there’s even an onsite diving valet to handle your gear. The resort also offers kiteboarding, paddleboarding and snorkeling. Packages range from “learn to dive” trips for beginners to ones for experienced divers.

Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch just outside of Las Vegas indulges the need for speed on more than four miles of race track for novice to experienced drivers to get behind the wheel in real race cars. The property has a resort-likeatmosphere, with well-appointed condos and a clubhouse with a bar, lounge and fitness facility.

For sporty dads

North Carolina’s reknowned Pinehurst Resort is offering a Father’s Day weekend package for $875 per person that includes accommodations, two rounds of golf on its famous championship courses, meals and receptions with Golf Magazine journalist James Dodson. Non-golfers can tag along starting at $495 per person.

Sorrel River Ranch in Moab, UT, coordinates activities that range from mountain biking the area’s famed red rock terrain to rafting, hiking and horseback riding. Rooms and suites offer killer mountain or river views, and the—bonus for dog-loving dads!—the property is pet-friendly.

For foodie dads

The Culinary Institute of America offers two- to five-day boot camp vacations at three locations: Napa Valley, New York’s Hudson Valley and San Antonio. The intensive courses cover topics ranging from comfort food to French cuisine, and are taught by accomplished chefs.

For dads who need pampering

The Elysian Spa and Health Club at Chicago’s Waldorf Astoria is regarded as one of the best spas (in one of the swankiest hotels) in the country, thanks to its spacious 14,000 square foot layout including a state-of-the-art fitness facility with a Pilates and Gyrotonic program and signature treatments such as the Muscle Repair, which begins with compression and hot towels and follows with a massage to target sore spots.
