Regal Sun Resort

Regal Sun Resort

By Mary Flynn

My husband and I took our 9-year-old twins and our 2 1/2-year-old grandson to the Regal Sun Resort in Orlando for a fun weekend getaway. I chose this Orlando hotel because it’s located in the Disney World area, has complimentary transportation to the parks and has great activities for our kids. We wanted a nice resort for us but also wanted our kids to enjoy the family vacation as well.

When we checked in, the kids each got a welcome bag filled with crayons, coloring books and a mock room key just for them. The hotel even has a kids waiting area with a TV and games and toys for the kids to play with as the parents check in. We got a schedule of all the activities available for kids during our stay, and the front desk even made our reservation for the Disney Character breakfast at the hotel the next morning.
Our room was a Disney view room, so we could see all of Disney, and at night we got to sit on our balcony and watch the fireworks. The kids felt so special watching them from our room.

Regal Sun Resort2My husband and I went to the pool area with the little one, and the twins decided they wanted to participate in the arts and crafts activities at the hotel. There is a special kids area at this Orlando hotel, so we were able to drop them off to play with several other kids and hotel staff member for a couple of hours. They made tie-dyed T-shirts that day and had a lot of fun playing with the other kids. The activities they had available during our family vacation included everything from video games to arts and crafts and movie time, and all of it is just for the kids.

The pool area at this Orlando hotel was great. It had a hydrotherapy pool, therapeutic thermal spa and a great tiki bar area for us, as well as an aquatic pool playground for kids with water cannons, fountains and other things that the kids enjoyed playing with.

We ate at the hotel for all of our meals, and the food was great. The kids got to choose from their own special menu, and they enjoyed being treated like big people by the staff. The character breakfast in the morning was so much fun. It was nice having it at the hotel in a smaller setting, so the kids could really interact with the characters. Goofy came and sat at our table for a few minutes, andthe kids really loved that.

The resort far exceeded my expectations. The price was great, the staff was friendly and it was truly a family vacation that the kids still talk about. They felt as if they were part of everything and not just doing what mom and dad wanted. I would recommend this Orlando hotel for anyone that wants a family vacation with plenty of kids activities for a great value.
