The hotel is close to the train station, with the taxi costing only10 RMB. The hotel foyer was a little dark however contained lovely chandeliers! The check in was quick and we were escorted to our room. The remote controls everything in your room from Airconditioning to TV. The room had free Wifi and the 12 floor had water views between some buildings and views of the bridge crossing to Macau. The room size was good, bed and bathroom good however the room had some mustiness smell! The hotel was located close to the water, and was good for a relaxing scenic walk. The restaurants were okay for breakfast, with limited western food but eggs were okay! However the price was excellent value for a two night holiday stay!
We stayed at the Nanyang Seascape over Dragon Boat Festival weekend in June 2019. We’re a couple from the USA, temporarily in Shenzhen, China and decided to come to Zhuhai for the weekend. The Nanyang Seascape met our needs for our two night stay at a good price. The location is very nice, close to the waterfront, the Macau crossing and the center of the Gongbei district. The staff was also very nice, although very little English is spoken. When we checked in there was one manager who spoke a little English, when we checked out there was no one but we worked it out through our phone translators. The lobby has a nice, slightly faded elegance to it, and during our stay the pool was in working order and was a wonderful getaway from the heat and humidity in the late afternoon. The room was generally good, but not without some issues. We had asked for a non-smoking room and we’re assigned to the 11th floor, noting later that the 12th floor is the only floor designated as “non-smoking”. At first our room seemed smoke free, but that evening we did note a mustiness and very faint remnant of cigarette smoke—it may have come as much from the hallway as the room. Not a real bother, but something to be aware of. The bed was comfortable and the shower was huge with rain and handheld shower heads. We set the A/C on at 22 the first night, but it struggled to get the temp down to to 25, ditto the second night when we set it on 21 and the fan to “high”. The buffet breakfast was good but the western choices were pretty limited. That said, I did fine with eggs, toast, sausage, something resembling a crepe and fresh fruit, plus tea and coffee (I don’t drink coffee so can’t comment on the quality, but it was there.) This isn’t a high end hotel, but is a good quality place for a short visit, and a good value for the price.
No facilities or pool gym sauna etc. They are not telling people this before making a reservation. I found out when I got to my room. There was a crumpled paper saying pool etc unavailable see photo. No one on arrival to carry luggage from taxi or to the room. No mention at check in about facilities just have to pay 500 yuan deposit for 1 night. No welcome drink on probably the hottest day this year. Room poor shower sprayed water out of cubicle into bathroom. Mattress old and soft not supportive. Could not find light switch to turn off lights and had to phone for instructions it is all done by remote control handset. Lack of information again. Breakfast ok for Chinese nothing for me is tomatoes beans mushroom sausages cereals etc. Very much DIY no service at all. I asked for my money back which is a first for me having stayed in many Chinese hotels in the past 10 years. No English spoken and a really bad experience all round. Maybe they just don't want foreigners to stay here. Advertised as 4/5 star but that too wrong. Only 2 at best in my opinion. Avoid this place .
This hotel provides great value conveniently located in Gongbei. It is a 10-minute walk from the Macau border crossing. Many restaurants and services are located nearby. Just a 10-minute walk to bar street. The attached Chinese restaurant is fantastic. The bed is always comfortable and room always clean. Only drawback for Westerners is no television option. The girls attending the front door are always extremely helpful! Can obtain a taxi or direct you to a good restaurant or place for services. Free breakfast is not great, but acceptable. Fresh egg station. Overall appearance is always well-kept.
Nanyang Seascape Hotel: Advantages: on front desk attitude has greatly improved the case well. Disadvantages: 1, the hotel rooms on each floor of the elevator waiting halls, corridors too damp causing very heavy musty smell each floor, it can not stand. 2, the lobby, the elevator on each floor of the waiting room, aisle because too wet to eliminate musty, and toilet water spray that more people can not endure. 3, the hotel location is not near, not far from the pass away, pass the queue at the taxi driver is not necessarily an overload (too close), walk another section of the road (after all, you want to pull passenger luggage), so the hotel's location in a bar embarrassed distance. 4, passengers called out to their own cars, concierge service do not do this (no tip), will help lift the luggage to the room (with tip). 5, the quality of breakfast dishes is not suitable for foreigners may be used, and dishes are extreme poor quality of health and health service personnel attitude clothing appearance is also very afraid to go to the poor. 6, the hotel is not free for guest use of fitness facilities. 7, the hotel's air-conditioned room air conditioning systems not only blow air only.
Upon arrival, the check-in was fast and friendly, like all the staff I met during my two days stay. I had chosen an Executive Room with Seaview in the 12th floor of the hotel. The room was quite spacious, there was enough place to work, the wifi connection to the internet was free and had enough speed for my usual work, I didn’t download any files. The bathroom was spacious as well, with a good combination of rain shower and handheld shower. There was enough space to hang my clothes and store my belongings in various shelves and drawers. The hotel has two restaurants: a Chinese one and a Western one. The Chinese one was reasonably priced and had good food. The Western one was closed during my stay, except for breakfast. The breakfast was Chinese style, but you could get things like fried eggs, sausage and toast. That means, the choice of Western breakfast products was limited, but certainly enough for the start of a working day. All this put together makes for a comfortable business hotel. I had two points of criticism, however. First, there is no seaview. When you look out of the window, you look at three high-rise buildings standing side by side. The sea is visible only through the spaces between those buildings. I can’t complain about that, because I had read about it in another review. The second one is a dealbreaker to me, I wouldn’t book this hotel again. I didn’t go back to the hotel of my last stay, the Grand Bayview Hotel, because last summer they had set the air conditioning to an unchangeable 24 degrees centigrade (75 Fahrenheit). Those who were feeling hot there got a fan from the hotel. Against this, the Nanyang Seascape Hotel says in its promotional materials that they have luxury rooms where you can individually set the temperature. When I arrived, the temperature in my room was about 18 degrees centigrade (64 Fahrenheit). I started the air conditioning at full blast, but the temperature didn’t budge. The staff told me that the air conditioning can heat, but that the management had decided that it wasn’t cold enough for that yet, the heating function was switched off. The staff was very helpful, by the evening they had found a heating fan, which improved things a bit. However, I had several hours of work at the desk in my room; while it wasn’t freezing, it was however pretty uncomfortable, as I hadn’t brought warm clothes. This might be a reason to choose an international hotel, where at least you can set the temperature to 21 centigrade and get it.
Stayed here two nights on business and found the staff very helpful and easy to deal with. The room was well appointed with all the modern requirements for a business stay. Excellent shower :) and bed, multiple charging points for devices and a reasonably good wifi reception on the 10th floor. The restaurant served excellent food with a broad range, although it helped we had a native speaker with us. Breakfast in the other restaurant was good but could be improved with good coffee. The location served us well but will vary for others. Do the research for your specific needs. Hotel seemed in good order and well kept.
In Zhuhai on business. It could have been a day trip, as it was a Friday I decided to stay the weekend which was pretty much a waste of time but I did meet some interesting people. The hotel is fine, it is a local style hotel which means it's free of bells and whistles. Chinese breakfast or fried eggs on toast, don't expect more. If you turn left out of the hotel entrance and left again you find some decent restaurants. To answer another reviewers issue with the airconditioning, it is controlled by a remote control that looks alot like a TV remote. Confusing it certainly is and I have no idea why they did that or why they don't share instructions. I have not seen this anywhere else, ever. Enjoy your stay, next time I will try somewhere else.
Cons: I've been to this hotel on about 3 or 4 different occasions now. It could just be because it's cold this time of year and that then translated into being freezing in my room on the 11th floor no matter what I set the in room thermostat to. Because I'm in town on Business access to the internet is important. I continuously got disconnected and couldn't get any work done from the hotel Pros: The only reason I'm not rating worse because the staff is friendly and accommodating. The rooms are clean. And the location is good. Very close by "Bar street".
The rooms are comfortable but small by Chinese standards. The lights can be controlled via a remote or Electronic push button on the wall. Neither method worked consistently as it was very difficult to get to the desired lighting. The internet worked well and the breakfast had a good selection of food. The hotel is in walking distance of Macau border crossing and 10-15 minute cab ride to the ferry terminal. The Seascape description is a bit of a stretch as there is a large building complex being built across the street that pretty much takes away the view.
