Please be careful when setting up reservation through "Booking.com", as the reservation might not be exactly what you ordered. I booked 2-Queen bed room, but this website booked 1 double bed. Very disappointing.
We had a getaway at this hotel on a Saturday evening. Our room was very nice and the bed comfy - only complaint is the very hot duvet on the bed. I'm not sure why hotels have replaced blankets and sheets with these very warm covers that give you no option but to be much to warm to sleep or have no covers. Anyway the bathroom was top notch. The shower was large and walk in - much like those in boutique hotels - and we both loved it.
Average nothing spectacular No free breakfast. Can't accommodate a family of five. Rooms are clean but small. There is a restaurant on the premises but not a complimentary breakfast like most other doubletree locations. Had to reserve two rooms because of a family of 5 but not offered any discount for inconvenience.
We stayed for a long weekend, back in town for a high school reunion. The room was excellent and well-appointed, the beds were quite comfortable and so were the pillows, and the bathroom was spotless. We really enjoyed the breakfast buffet, and the option to have eggs made to order as well. It was also a great value at $21 for two people. The staff were quite helpful and friendly and the hotel is within walking distance of what is become a very quaint little downtown with nice restaurants, coffee shop, and fun things to do. Highly recommend.
The hotel was centrally located to Utica, Ohio where my parents lived before I was born and to the Columbus zoo. The hotel was very clean. The staff was very helpful and pleasant when we arrived late. They also gave us cookies upon arrival and bottles of water for our trip home. The food exceptional and fairly priced.
Spent one night at the DoubleTree while dropping our child off at college. Spacious room with comfortable beds. Very large flat screen TV. Good view of the town. Shortage of accessible electric outlets in the room and no USB connections, which we've found to be standard in our travels. No hair dryer in the room. Call to housekeeping went to an answering service. Front desk did eventually deliver the hair dryer. Downstairs the two coffee urns were empty in the AM and the breakfast buffet is best avoided, especially the 'scrambled' eggs. As seems to be a trend, attentiveness doesn't seem to be a quality to be found here. In summary, the room was great, but our interactions with the hotel staff showed disinterest in providing good service.
Friendly staff, clean comfortable rooms, nice restaurant/ bar. The hotel staff even went above and beyond to help me figure out the time of the wedding I was attending since I left my invite at home. The shuttle driver was awesome and friendly as were the bar staff at the restaurant. We had a really great time. Thank you!
This is a great place to stay if you are visiting Newark, Ohio. I was there with my wife for a retirement lunch and due to distant spent the night prior to the lunch. The lunch was at the hotel. The staff on the front desk and the restaurant were excellent.
Hotel was clean and staff was great, Room had some issues but was clean and quiet. Had to pay for breakfast, for the price we paid you would think it would be included. That was a let down with just free coffee.
Hotel is overall a nice clean place. Housekeeping was great. Not even a continental breakfast offered. Coffee is in lobby but got cold quick. If you just need a clean place to stay and sleep then you can't go wrong with this place.
