We stayed at this property when we attended a family reunion. It was very clean and comfortable. The complimentary, cooked-to-order breakfast was good and the waitperson was very friendly and efficient. It is located in the downtown area and would be convenient for shopping and restaurants.
This hotel started life as a budget hotel. It has been remodeled to be a Double tree. The room was quite nice. A very comfortable bed. Nice public spaces. The staff was nice. The bad. The sheets were soiled with food and never changed. The TV remote was left on the spot. To call the swimming pool a pool is a joke.
I am a HHDiamond member that travels weekly around the country, so I chose the Doubletree Newark because it is a Hilton brand. I stayed here overnight for a business meeting the following day. I was tired and opted to have dinner downstairs at the Elements Restaurant, but was so disappointed with the customer service (or lack thereof). This is not typical of Doubletree locations-- that are more welcoming and fair to their customers. They usually go above and beyond. As an inspector, I would say that in my opinion this location could benefit from staff training and re-orientation, as well as hiring the right people.
Would not recommend the restaurant. The staff was rude, the bar doesn't have a drink menu. When asked about certain drinks we were told they don't make them. Good location to downtown with some nice restaurants there. Easy location on and off the express way.
I've stayed at this hotel numerous due to it being a Hilton and it location. Staff is great but the hotel could use an update as the hallway carpeting is showing lots of wear. Breakfast buffet is fair with the food mostly cool to cold. The made to order omelet was flavorful and hot though. Hilton has updated their dinner menu and the new chicken and Salmon meals were very good. My biggest complaint is the quality of their internet service. For a hotel that services business travelers and has
My wife and I stayed here because it is a block from The Midland Theater. This hotel is extremely clean and comfortable. The Elements restaurant is really good and fairly priced for a hotel. We really enjoyed our stay here.
If you are traveling to Newark, Ohio this is the place to stay. Nice pool and workout room with an excellent whirlpool. I had a very good breakfast at the restaurant. I thought I had purchased a free breakfast when I selected the hotel. Tripadvisor transferred me to Bookings.com somehow breakfast, unknown to me was deselected. We didn't find about the mixup, until we sat down to eat the next day. The hotel experience overall was very good.
Have stayed at this property previously and had a good experience. This time was about the same. Rooms a re clean, staff is very courteous and friendly. Even though there was a small guest issue (other guest) things seemed to be handled efficiently.
Don't stay here, pool was puked in and it took them a full 30 hours to fix the pool. Normally it takes 6 hours. Mice poop in the sheets. Never again. I have pictures. I'm an honors member won't come back here that's for sure
Nice hotel with restaurant and bar on premises. Only disappointment was that breakfast was not free, even as an hhonors member. Breakfast was similar to other hotels that offer free extended breakfast and room prices were cheaper with same quality stay.
