Me and my girlfriend stayed here the food was terrible hot food more luke warm if you was lucky the pasta was cold so was the sauce that goes over it to make it worse we got charged an extra 70 kuna upon arrival they reckon it was down to their tax laws in Croatia the manager was so rude she didn't acknowledge us as spoke to her college to say the least I don't not recommend you stay there we will be writing a complaint to them as soon as I'm home

This hotel is very outdated and dirty. When I arrived at 11pm I was told that there was no all inclusive and the bar had closed so I could not even buy a bottle of water. The first room I was shown too was cramped and dirty and all I could hear were the loud teenagers in the games room below, I asked to be moved to another room, the porter took me to another room and when we got there the door was wide open with a pile of dirty towels on the floor. The 3rd room he took me too was better but there were stains on the bedding, crumbs on the sofa and the shower flooded the bathroom floor. The food served was all fried/unhealthy and aimed at eastern European pallettes, no variation and nothing fresh and healthy except the very bruised fruit. I was so let down by the whole trip that I left Croatia 2 days early and the hotel still charged me for 2 days of my stay even though I explained how extremely disappointed I was. The hotel also wouldn't let me have a private taxi to the airport but made me share with other guests as it would "save me money" when it actually cost the same.

Okay. The hotel is old style. But cleaning is top. Also the food is average and the staff is friendly and kind. Also the price is not to high so you could not expect a top food and a briliant new hotel. It is average.

Me and my husband got back from Zadar on the 11th October, We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and that was enough, not much around the hotel. Food basic, drinks really basic and rooms just somewhere to sleep. We arrived just after 10pm to be told the all inclusive had finished. We was able to buy drinks at the bar until 11pm and then they shut everything down and turned the lights off. The hotel staff on the check in desk was nice but bar staff (especially the man/manager was miserable and sat watching TV

The agency I booked through made a mistake so I did not get the room in Funimation Borik. The receptionist offered hotel Donat, said it was ***, and that the price is 75 EUR per night. I accepted as I was in a hurry. When I got to reception (in Donat A) I was greeted by polite receptionist who unfortunately had a bad smell. He gave me a room in Donat B. I was transferred mentally some 30-35 years back literally. Old furniture, smelly carpet "tapison" and all other 80s features. Walls and door very thin so you have to be lucky with neighbors. The only good side of the hotel is location near the nice beach within pine forest (Borik). I think this hotel shall be ** and that 75 EUR in mid October is a rip off.

Hotel was very clean, staff very nice and food excelent. Hotel also has pool by the hotel. Very close to Zadar town. Beach and sea looks great, all very clean. Animators were a big bonus to a great vacation.

Me and my partner took a long weekend to Zadar Croatia for 5 days. We arrived at 11pm and we were greeted by a packed lunch which we thought was good. The room was odd to say the least lots of small rooms. The shower wasn't great is flooded the bathroom every time we used it. the beds were comfy and the room kept very clean which is one of the few positives. The breakfast was awful though really small selection but for the dinner much better food was ok and edible unlike breakfast and a much larger selection I really enjoyed my stay but if we went to Croatia again I would choose a different hotel.

On arrival to hotel we were greeted by very friendly receptionist who also gave us a snack to take to our room as we had missed dinner . Room very spacious , consisting of 4 single beds ideal for myself wife and son . Shower only , bath would have been nice. Lovely sea views. OK , I don't want to be negative but I feel I must be honest . Food was very poor , there was a reasonable selection but very repetitive. The quality however was very poor . On one occasion I had chicken wings and within minutes I was spending a lengthy time on toilet . Same desserts every evening which consisted of tasteless strudel. Soft drinks adequate , alcoholic drinks red and white wine which taste like vinegar. One type of larger which was also disgusting. There were no free ice creams throughout day or any other snacks other than the allotted breakfast ,lunch and dinner. The bar staff were miserable , there was one man in particular who appeared to be the manager. He would just sit at bar scouring at people . He at one point shouted at my 3 year old son who handled a cheap fake flower on the table. On our penultimate day the hot water in shower would not work , when we complained we were told there is nothing they could do as it had effected the whole area.we therefore had a day and a half without a shower. Also lack of any entertainment in the hotel , I appreciate it was end of season but something would have been nice. Sorry to be negative but this was our experience Beautiful area ,country but poor hotel

A great price/value choice. We spent 5 nights in beginning of October in the Hotel Donat. Overall it was a great holiday. Do not expect outstanding details in a 3* Hotel, built a long time ago. But! The staff were very kind, helpful and polite. Everyone we talked to - spoke English. Our room were spacious, clean, and we had a wonderful sea view. Hair dryer, color TV, Dove shower gel. Beds were comfortable for us. The Hotel has an own swimming pool and own pier, and a beautiful beach full of trees. We paid for all inclusive which meant breakfast, lunch and dinner 2-2,5 hours availability each. The food selection was more than we expected in a 3* Hotel. Breakfast: different breads, egg, sausages, cheese, hams, liver pate, fresh vegetables, coffee, tea. Lunch and dinner: 2 soups, at least 6-7 main dishes, including 1-2 fish. Vegetarian as well. All foods we tried were fresh made and good enough for a 3* hotel. Wide range of desserts and fresh fruits. All inclusive also means unlimited consumption of local wines (red and white) local beer - draught "Pan", and soft drinks on tap and coffee from machine in the All in Bar in the hall. You can also drink premium drinks here - cocktails for 3-4 euros, international spirits for 3 euros and local spirits for 1,5 euros. Superb! The old town of Zadar is near, you can take a bus, or the local small train (15 minutes) and you will find yourself in the Old Town. If you would expect something fancy and modern for this moderate fee, don't choose Donat, but if you want comfortable, clean and spacious room, close sea, good foods, and polite staff- this is what you need.

Positives: Location was amazing, sea view room with nice big balcony(Ask for a higher floor room to get the sun in the evening) Bus or tourist train 5 minutes walk from hotel which brings you into the centre of zadar in 10 minutes Great beach bar 5 minutes walk Good food, not amazing but nice for the price Room cleaned daily Cold draft beer was lovely It is worth it to pay 20 kuna for the sun lounger by the sea for the view Negatives: Room and hotel outdated and in need of renovation Water was freezing in the pool No cushions on sun loungers, have to buy in beach shop Shower was careful, very cramped and you get burnt/water in your face if you knock against it which is easy to do It would be nice to have a light on the balcony to read etc at night We booked with and we were only told on check out that there was an extra charge for tax that we had to pay- this should have been mentined on the booking confirmation
