Checking in was via kiosk in the lobby with a remote person and had serious audio issues. After waiting for person ahead of me to get a new room, because the one they had had a window with a sizable gap, it was my turn to struggle to hear the remote agent. I was made to put down a credit card for a $100 security deposit for a room I’d already paid for! 3 floors & no elevator - not a huge deal. Room across from mine had a considerable amount of garbage outside the door, which may have caused the off odor in my room. My room was a hot 78 degrees but at least the temperature controls worked so I could remedy that. There was a phone, but it didn’t work. The worst was I could hear conversations (and worse) until after 1AM. When I, or people next door, used the sink water could be clearly heard dripping behind the wall. I barely slept. I didn’t even attempt the breakfast in the morning, based on my impression of the lobby/ dining area from the night before. I gave 3 stars because the room itself was okay.
