Luxuriously Restored Family Friendly 300 year old English Country Cottage
Ideal for families or couples in need of a break, Yew Tree Cottage sleeps up to six guests. Meticulously renovated and mindfully decorated, this one-of-a-kind country retreat embodies luxury living both inside and out. Natural materials, warm hues, subdued patterns, tasteful artwork and carefully selected fabrics create a classic, cosy British vibe with a nod to the surrounding environment and years gone by.
Get comfortable in one of Yew Tree Cottage’s three downstairs living spaces. Make a favourite family meal in the kitchen, where you’ll find a full welcome basket with fresh bread, butter, milk, eggs, bacon, tea, coffee, cake and a complimentary bottle of wine – all sourced from local farmers and bakers. To make cooking even easier, expect to find a well-stocked pantry and refrigerator.
Toss a few pieces of pre-cut firewood into the wood-burning stove, and hunker down in the family room with one of the many DVDs or a PS2 game. And in the dining room, gather around the solid oak rectory table, which is also ideal for playing board games or putting together jigsaw puzzles late into the evening.
If you’ve got little ones in tow, there’s no need to worry: Toddler toys, a high chair, plastic cutlery, a travel cot, and other kid-friendly gear are all freely available for your use. We even supply extra nappies, a steriliser and bottle warmer! We know what it's like to pack for children and have tried to ensure the home is equipped with everything you might need.
At night, claim a stylish bedroom to call your own. The master bedroom features a super king-sized bed, the cottage’s original fireplace and other high-end touches, and the guest bedroom boasts a double bed and beautiful views across the open fields beyond. A third room has 2 single beds which can be joined to make a large double and it's also got the cottage library – perfect for anyone who needs a bit of space to call their own. (Don’t worry: A great selection of books and magazines means you’ll never be bored!)
A downstairs toilet as well as a well-appointed bathroom on the second floor offer ample room to spread out and freshen up. Prepare to be spoiled with a traditional roll-top bath/shower, underfloor heating and complimentary Aesop bathroom products with hints of ginger root and geranium fragrances.
Throw open the patio door to find Yew Tree Cottage’s lavish details spilled out into your own private garden. On sunny days, take advantage of the barbeque grill and dine outside in style at the outdoor dining table. Come night, soak in the starry skies, which escape unscathed from city light (and street lights!)
Of course, Yew Tree Cottage’s prominent location in the heart of a typical Yorkshire village is simply a bonus to this already spectacular property. Positioned close to a pub and within easy reach of the coast, moors and dales, it’s the perfect place for a day of exploring. And don't miss the chance to explore the local market town of Malton - Yorkshire’s Food Capital - just a few minutes away.
Beyond the attention to physical details, your holiday at Yew Tree Cottage is seamless from the moment you make contact about a stay. Don’t be surprised by how simple it is to truly kick back and relax. After all, this is your hard-earned holiday.

Beautiful cottage in lovely Yorkshire village. Cottage is very comfortable and well equipped. Our young grandchildren loved the childrens books and toys, unexpected but welcome extra. The welcome pack was very thoughtful and much appreciated. We would love to return.

Liked: Cleanliness, amenities
Wonderful stay in a beautiful cottage. Westow is the perfect base for visiting North Yorkshire with York, Malton and the coast all within easy reach. We loved the pub next door and the playground 5 minutes away and were able to cycle to nearby villages very easily on the quiet country roads.
Natasha made everything very easy by ordering us daily milk deliveries, a veg box and a BBQ pack from the local butcher. The cottage was spotless and has everything you need for a week away. Her welcome hamper was a lovely touch and the kitchen has everything you need for cooking some meals.
Our two year old twins loved visiting some of the local farms and attractions including Beetlebank farm, Piglets Adventure Farm, and Wolds's Way Lavendar fields with its miniature railway. A day trip to Whitby on a sunny day was a great addition and very easily reached too.
We had a wonderful time at the Yew Tree Cottage. The house has everything you need to have a nice relaxing time and also lots of fun for the children and there was everything we needed there for our toddler and baby. The lovely hamper that awaited us upon our arrival was a lovely touch. The little town of Westow is beautiful and the children's playground is excellent. Thank you so much!

Great stay in a lovely Cottage
Had a great stay in the Yew Tree Cottage in Westow, been before and the second time didn't disappoint. The Cottage has everything you need for a luxurious stay and is extremely well equipped. Just a short drive from Malton and roughly 20 mins from York park and ride. It's a perfect place to stay for a holiday in Yorkshire. I couldn't recommend it enough. Correspondence with the owners was brilliant and couldn't be more helpful.

Wonderful, family friendly accommodation
Our 3rd stay in this beautifully presented, clean and well equipped property and it won’t be our last. The cottage has everything we could ask for catering for babies, toddlers and older children. Nothing is too much trouble for the owners who were very accommodating when we had to change last minute plans due to family illness. If there is anything you need for your little ones, just ask Natasha...chances are she’ll be able to provide it from bottle warmers to bed guards! The location is ideal with so much to do near by and an excellent gastronpub a couple of doors down. Easy access to York, beaches and other attractions. Thoroughly recommend a break at Yew Tree cottage!

Fabulous country cottage
We had a wonderful time at Yew Tree cottage and would highly recommend to anyone wanting to visit York and the surrounding areas.
The cottage was immaculate, tastefully decorated, and had everything we could possibly want. Even toys were supplied for the children!
Natasha was on hand to answer any questions prior to, and during, our stay, and the extra little touches such as the welcome hamper really made our stay special.
Thank you

Gorgeous country property superbly renovated
We were looking for a cottage stay near to york and other Yorkshire villages and one which was equipped to a high standard and we found just that in Yew Tree. Its owners attention to detail was outstanding and we really felt relaxed and well provided for. We were left a super hamper filled with lots of local produce and of an excellent quality. We were already looking at when we could return whilst we were still there. You won't be disappointed.

Great cottage, relaxing holiday
The cottage is lovely, and catered for all our needs. It was clean and as described. The location was great - lovely and quiet, yet we were only 10 minutes away from the nearest town (Malton). It was easy to access the coast and there was plenty to do locally - especially with a 3 year old! The pub a few doors down served lovely food.
All in all a lovely holiday in a lovely cottage - would recommend

Beautiful, comfortable cottage
We had a fantastic week with our 2 1/2 year old. The cottage is beautifully decorated and very well appointed and was a real home from home. Our toddler particularly enjoyed the large selection of books and toys.
Natasha took a lot of time to understand our needs and all of the additional equipment we had discussed was duly provided. The ability to pre order meat, milk and newspapers was also a lovely touch - and the sausages were delicious! The takeaway service offered by the Blacksmiths Arms was excellent. I wish we had such a place at home!
There was plenty in the local area to keep us occupied and we particularly enjoyed our trips to Castle Howard, Whitby and the National Railway Museum in York.
I would recommend Yew Tree Cottage to friends and family without hesitation and would certainly stay here again.

Perfect stay in a perfect cottage
We had a lovely stay at Yew Tree Cottage, the cottage had everything we needed for a nice relaxing break. The welcome hamper was perfect as a cup of tea and a slice of cake was required after a long drive.
It's situated just outside Malton and within a 20 minute drive to York. Malton is a lovely little town with a nice market and more than enough tea room / privately owned coffee shops. It has an Asda and Morrison in the town so no problem getting food provisions.
The owners are more than helpful with any questions or queries that we had, and will do anything needed to ensure you have a relaxing break.
We did not eat out locally but there is a pub a few doors down that has a good reputation, we also passed the pub near kirkham abbey which seemed popular.
We would definitely recommend this cottage for a family stay. It's on our list of places to return to in the near future.

A midsummernight's dream
We spent a beautifull week in the Yew Tree Cottage. We enjoyed the welcome basket with the local products very much. The cottage is cute, with large bedrooms, very practical kitchen with all the toys you need, nice living and dining room.
Unfortunately we only could dinner once in the garden because of the weather.
We visited Yorkshire, Leeds, Castle Howard (*****), Fountains Abbey (*****), Durham, Ripon, Whitby, Scarborough....
We made our shopping in Malton and Norton, not far away from the cottage.
The only things you can improve are: more plates (so you don't need to use the dish washer all the time), clear windows (we missed the view), 3 third bedroom in stead of the bureau.

Beautifully apportioned and comfortable cottage
A beautifully apportioned cottage, with plenty of space for all the family. Set in a peaceful village just off the main roads Yew Tree Cottage is a great base to explore North Yorkshire. That is if you can tear yourself away from the comfort of the cottage. The owners have thought of everything you might need, the kitchen is well equipped and there is a huge range of DVD's, books and games for the children plus an office with Wi Fi should you need to work. With plenty of room for everyone including a spacious dining room, kitchen, lounge and study, which can also double up as a third bedroom. The bathroom includes a deep bath, perfect for a relaxing soak. Not forgetting a quiet reading nook on the landing. Unfortunately the weather meant we didn't make use of the garden but imagine that is a brilliant space for eating outside and BBQ's when warmer.
We particularly enjoyed York, we recommend a visit to York's Chocolate Story, where we made our own chocolate lollies. Try and visit Betty's for the experience of afternoon tea, you will have to queue but it is well worth it. The Railway Museum is perfect for train enthusiasts, along with a trip on the North York Moors Steam train. We took the train from Levisham as it was difficult to park at Pickering. Castle Howard was another great day out and our children enjoyed Dalby Forest. There was so much to do we are hoping to visit again soon.
We would throughly recommend a visit to Yew Tree Cottage.

Beautiful cottage, everything catered for
Fabulous stay. Thanks to Natasha and Paul. The welcome hamper was filled with goodies, surprise milk at the door in the morning, the cottage is beautifully decorated with some really unique pieces! Great base for all the things to do in the area. Kid friendly too with lots of things provided to save on our packing
