The hotel is economic price, strategic location near indomaret, resto along the street, but the room hotel is need to be renovated. The wall paint looks old & little dirt, water heater takes time to be hot.The staff hospitality is great.Overall is average.
One of quite old hotel on Kaliurang street Jogjakarta which were crowded many restaurants. Lowest rate in high seasons which is worth for it's facilities. The room quite dark. The modest breakfast at their classic java room restaurant. Unexprerienced chef for egg section because she was very young. Better you try another traditional food outside the hotel for breakfast. The hotel staff were not quite fast cleaning the hotel facilities
Its my second visit. Smiling staffs with clean room. Softly pillow will make ur day shining. Simple menu in breakfast buffett coz Yogyakarta's culiner is a must. Although in crowded area, surrounding local culinary with easy access. Dont hesitate to stay in Cakra Kusuma.
Staying here for couple of night when visiting Yogyakarta. This is first time to stay at this hotel. They provide double room look old already but compare to price offer are still ok. Need to improve room. When breakfast there are limited breakfast and not tasty at all. Indonesian breakfast is not good at all. The location is strategic in Kaliurang street which is very close with Gadjah Mada University and some restaurant just step away in front of the hotel. Good for budget stay and take food outside of the hotel.
Pros: - Value for money - Helpful and friendly staffs - Free wifi internet with average speed - Strong shower with good temperature - Medium led tv with various international channels - spacious parking area - located near local shops and food stalls Cons: - air condition not too cool
We arrived late at night and got placed into a Standard room eventhough we had booked a superior room. After we asked to switch rooms we instantly got placed into a superior room. The superior room was better than the standart room, wich to be fair doesn't mean alot, but it still was moldy and Dirty. We then paid for an Upgrade to a Suite. The Suite was mostly clean and Overall really pleasant. Ontop of that it was very hard to communicate with the staff because they hardly spoke english. In conclusion, you should only stay at the Cakra Kusuma Hotel Suites, otherwise you will be dissapointed!
The location was strategic. Not so far from the airport. Nearby the campus and eating places. The meals were OK, although not many varieties. However, in my 1st night stay, the AC didn't work well and the bathroom was little bit smelly
it saddens to write this review because the people were nice, but the hotel is very disappointing. i checked into a room. the air conditioner barely worked and there was no wi-fi at all. i complained and was told i could move to another room the next day. the next room had a very powerful air conditioner and the wi-fi though better than the first room, was inadequate. (i did notice some contractors doing some internet work as i was leaving.) the bathroom was filthy in both rooms. there a clear glass shower door in the second room which was no longer clear because it was covered dried drips from many many showers. any child could look at the shower and clearly see that it was not clean, but the hotel was satisfied with it and rented the room to me in this condition. finally, the room had an ant infestation which i informed them about, but nothing was done. horrible experience, but the people were nice and friendly.
Stayed there for 4nights, the environment is really nice. A very nice hotel with a bit of classic and traditional touch. At first got the hotel with air condationing problem, but they change the room to a better one. Maybe need some improvement on the room facilities, but it's a small matter of thing. The best part is it is centrally located around the Kaliurang Street, very convenient, nearby to anything you ever need, restaurant, marts etc. Just walked around the streets and you can have variety places to eat, I spent my nights there walking to Gelato store and Kalimilk(Milk shake). It is really recommended that you go for the ice cream and milk shake, both are superb and cheap! Next time if I ever go to Jogja again, I'll def stay in Cakra Kusuma, and I really miss the Gelato I had there!
I found it when looking for a hotel near UGM Dormitory. It was the closest one. Situated at Kaliurang St, a walking distance both to UGM and the dormitory (which I need to go at the time). The hotel look old (there is one of the improvement part needed). But its clean (thats one of the plus side), the room is big enough (for the price paid), and less noise from the road(since even its situated by the kaliurang, its a bit like enclave situation). But they dont have lift/elevators, only stairs (but its only two stories hotel anyway). the staf is friendly and helpfull (keep it that way please, but maybe have a better english will be good, since I saw some foreign tourist have a dificulties to comunicate). The breakfast is mostly Indonesian/traditional food (except for the eggs and the bread and jam), but thats Ok (I m Indonesian, so its soo good in my taste..). Its close enough from airport (around 15 minutes or less), Malioboro and the Palace (around 15 minutes too), and around an hour to Borobudur. The price raging from around $30-50. If you need a taxi, just ask it from the front office/reception, they will call it for you.
