it saddens to write this review because the people were nice, but the hotel is very disappointing. i checked into a room. the air conditioner barely worked and there was no wi-fi at all. i complained and was told i could move to another room the next day. the next room had a very powerful air conditioner and the wi-fi though better than the first room, was inadequate. (i did notice some contractors doing some internet work as i was leaving.) the bathroom was filthy in both rooms. there a clear glass shower door in the second room which was no longer clear because it was covered dried drips from many many showers. any child could look at the shower and clearly see that it was not clean, but the hotel was satisfied with it and rented the room to me in this condition. finally, the room had an ant infestation which i informed them about, but nothing was done. horrible experience, but the people were nice and friendly.
Stayed there for 4nights, the environment is really nice. A very nice hotel with a bit of classic and traditional touch. At first got the hotel with air condationing problem, but they change the room to a better one. Maybe need some improvement on the room facilities, but it's a small matter of thing. The best part is it is centrally located around the Kaliurang Street, very convenient, nearby to anything you ever need, restaurant, marts etc. Just walked around the streets and you can have variety places to eat, I spent my nights there walking to Gelato store and Kalimilk(Milk shake). It is really recommended that you go for the ice cream and milk shake, both are superb and cheap! Next time if I ever go to Jogja again, I'll def stay in Cakra Kusuma, and I really miss the Gelato I had there!
I found it when looking for a hotel near UGM Dormitory. It was the closest one. Situated at Kaliurang St, a walking distance both to UGM and the dormitory (which I need to go at the time). The hotel look old (there is one of the improvement part needed). But its clean (thats one of the plus side), the room is big enough (for the price paid), and less noise from the road(since even its situated by the kaliurang, its a bit like enclave situation). But they dont have lift/elevators, only stairs (but its only two stories hotel anyway). the staf is friendly and helpfull (keep it that way please, but maybe have a better english will be good, since I saw some foreign tourist have a dificulties to comunicate). The breakfast is mostly Indonesian/traditional food (except for the eggs and the bread and jam), but thats Ok (I m Indonesian, so its soo good in my taste..). Its close enough from airport (around 15 minutes or less), Malioboro and the Palace (around 15 minutes too), and around an hour to Borobudur. The price raging from around $30-50. If you need a taxi, just ask it from the front office/reception, they will call it for you.
It has been a wonderful 5 days stay at Cakra Kesuma. The staff welcomed us very well. They are so polite. Even though there were little problem with languange but that made we laugh. I like all the front liner staffs as they were being so nice and warmth. The foods serve at cheap price surprisingly. The location is so strategic as it is located near shops, restaurants, bakery, coffee shop and convenience store. The lacks is on the housekeeping service where the used cup we left on the table has not being washed. The light by the table cannot be switched on.
The recepcionist doesnt speak english and the rest of the staff neither, the food in the restaurant is horrible and expensive, the room we were was next to a laundry or airconditioning machine that was making noise all the night. The staff working with that machine was speaking loud and with music since 4 in the night. The internet doesnt work. The worst experience i have lived in a hotel in all my live.
My family (2 adults, 2 children) stayed at Chakra Kusuma Hotel for 3 nights. Our plans was to visit Borobodur and Malioboro Street in Yogyakarta. This hotel turn out to be excelent for our needs. Taxi is very cheap and took about 1 our to Borobodur and 10 minuts to Malioboro Street. The staf at the hotel was very frendly, and the room was big and clean. The pool isn't big, but was big enough for us. The hotel is very tradisional Indonesian, and the restaurant served only Indonesian food (exept for pancakes and omelegg for breadfast). The only negativ thing for us was that this is one of many non alkoholic hotels in Yokyakarta. It is comon for tourist to day to have the obortunety to drink a glas of wine or a beer too the dinner. This you can't to in this hotel.
A few yesrs ago I stayed here during a business trip, so I tried it again this year for a 6 nights (study) trip. Hotel is still ok, but management seems to need a boost. The room (ground floor) was ok. But during 4 days renovation works in front of the room were vexatious nucance during the day. A loud and smelly machine produced a lot of noice in front of our door. Staff is friendly, but service not very efficient to Indonesian standards. Sometimes even extremely slowly.Check in takes long, we had to ask 3 times when our laundry wasn't delivered in time when it would arrive. On by booking firm it said the roon had a sofa and a safe, both missed, etc. It is a pity, since the hotel is convenient located in the north of Yogja, near UGM. By taxi the drive to Malioboro is just 15 minutes. So please keep the nice and friendly staff, but revitalize the management. And don't rent rooms when this kind of maintenance is carried out in front of these.
Pretty good hotel. The rooms are clean and the staff is very friendly and helpfull. The wifi connection is pretty strong. The pool looks a bit bigger in the pictures. Too bad the breakfast was on the down side. Overall expierence was pretty good.
Superior rooms are convenient for my families. Reservation without breakfast, so breakfast should be looking outside the hotel, but not a problem because a lot of places selling food which is close to the hotel. Frigid air conditioning facilities and a 32-inch TV. The rooms are quite spacious, there is still a space for children's play. There is a small swimming pool, but we did not have time to swim. Prices match the superior class room standard for fitting the holiday. Wifi is not affordable to the room. The hotel services are satisfactory, the employees are also friendly people.
Stayed just one night at this hotel and booked the standard room, the room is quite clean, standard interior with flat TV and some cable TV channel. The bathroom interior is also standard, but again its clean. The breakfast menu also standard (I was there during fasting month, so its early breakfast), taste is just ok not much variety. Hotel design is quite unique, they have the main hotel building with small swimming pool, the restaurant is located at the back yard of the hotel about 100 meter (careful when its raining), meeting room on separate building as well and also some deluxe/suite room on separate building.
