It was clean. The bed had no comforter, just a sheet, thin blanket and another sheet. It's kind of a weird location. I left early every morning but at checkout they charged me 2.91 for a coffee refill, the gas station down the street has better coffee and the refill is 1.05.

Due to the lodging at Steamboat Springs being extremely expensive with limited cancel options, we decided to stay here. We booked on Orbitz and were only able to secure a room with 1 bed, but preferred 2. After a phone call, the front desk person, Jason, upgraded our room to 2 beds with no hassle or extra charge. As I drove through town and up to the hotel, I was uncertain what to expect as there's not much in happening in Yampa (it's a bit of a blue-collar, sleepy town with few if any restaurants and zero nightlife) and the check-in is actually inside the attached diner. I was very pleasantly surprised when I got inside the room. The room was extremely clean, not a "chemical smell" clean, but clean-smelling and tidy. There is a workout room that is not over-the-top stocked with the latest and greatest, but they have 3 bike machines, 2 treadmills and a weight machine, just enough to keep you busy for your short stay. The attached diner serves breakfast 24/7 as well as lunch and dinner. The breakfast was very tasty and IMO would rival any iHop: eggs, 'cakes, sausage, bacon, etc. I felt the staff was down to earth and friendly in a small-town kind of way. Since Yampa is only about a 35-minute drive to Steamboat, next time I ski there for an extended stay, I will be staying here instead of in town. The beautiful drive through the valley is worth it. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and/or family.

lower cost option compared to staying at nearby ski resort, has 24 hr dinner next door

Your diner should be open! Two restaurants on the same block are up and running. You are losing out be keeping the diner closed

The location was good for access to Flattops Wilderness, and pleasant drive to Steamboat. Clean and friendly. The food pickup at Penny's served our needs.

Location, near the events we wanted to attend over the weekend

Went to a baby shower in Phippsburg and stayed nearby in Yampa at this hotel. I walked over to the Antlers Saloon and cafe, a nice , old place just near the hotel. THe 24 hour diner was great too.

The area around the hotel was sketchy with delapidated buildings and bars.
