Surprised to read other delightful reviews about this property. Clearly some haven't travelled. You arrive in no man's land to a path of lights which aren't in commission. After navigating to what looks like a quarantine station you are literally in the dark. Run down, barren like landscape in need of some vegetation and a solar light or two. Phoning the manager at 8.30pm to be let in, you are made to feel like a detained school child being told you are outside of curfew. We checked into this retreat to discover that the rooms are actually gyprock "sleep-outs" tacked on to the back of this run down family home. The "walk-in pantry" style rooms were tastefully decorated in floral 1990's tones and the bathroom indicative of that seen in a donger. We didn't stay, not because we're claustrophobic but there is always a first time isn't there. Anyhow, you certainly wouldn't be getting up to any "funny business" on this property. Besides being able to hear a pin drop in the adjoining room, you'd certainly be reprimanded by the "warden-style" manager. Stay away folks, this property is misrepresented by images and reviews.
We went for a short drive just for a night away in Busselton and we found this beautiful house surrounded with nice tall pine trees and palm trees, it was very quiet and relaxing environment and the host was so accommodating that she even give us the chance to choose a room that suits our taste, breakfast was good, rooms are very clean and very comfy bed, 10 minutes drive away from the city center but it's worth it, price was ok but bit high for what it has to offer!
We found this little gem after being unable to find an available campsite. Beautiful views of the pond, river & sea in such a peaceful setting. The hostess was very friendly & cooked us a fresh breakfast in the morning. I would recommend this place as a lovely place to de-stress, I did not want to leave.
Definitely wasn't what expected upon arrival, the house exterior is very run down. Labelled as a beach retreat yet no beaches insight nor a beachy vibe. Our room with the 'garden view' had no garden, it was facing the front of the house (not shown in any photos) which was a view of black dirt and old trees, not a patch of green grass let alone any grass anywhere. Inside was dark and dull. We were not comfortable to stay and were still charged $70 to cancel, which we found very unfair as it false advertising on their behalf. Owner was getting very defensive and rude whilst we were politely explaining it wasn't what we had expected. Would be nice if all photos could be updated so this doesn't happen for other guests hoping to get what they see in the pictures (as we were told by the owner the same thing happened to a lady earlier that day refusing to stay there for the same reasons as us). Would not recommend and will be passing thoughts to everyone who considers staying at the so called beach retreat.
Stayed for the Ironman event in December, lovely spot around 10km out of town. Excellent host and fantastic breakfasts! Beach is beautiful - property is quite isolated (so nice and quiet) so be prepared to drive for stuff!
An overnight stay in this delightful place with beautiful gardens to sit and enjoy. Patricia is a friendly and welcoming host who enjoys looking after her guests and making them feel very much at home. The room was a good size, clean and beds comfortable- slept well! Patricia provided good information on where to sightsee and places of interest to visit. Overall the stay was great....would be a beautiful place for weddings with the stunning gardens and gazebo.
We had a wonderful five day stay at Martin Fields, where Patricia made efforts to really make us feel at home. She also provided good advice on what to see and do in the area, which was perfect for short walks. The cooked breakfast was great, with locally sourced ingredients. Internet worked well. The gazebo was good for an afternoon snack or relaxation. Our room was clean and pleasant, the beds very comfortable. The pillows and mattrasses were very good, which is a bit unusual. All in all, a perfect place for a holiday.
This is a beautiful, welcoming guesthouse, set in a stunning location. The owners have created a light and airy space where you can really relax. I particularly appreciated my clean and comfortable room; the delicious breakfast with their own hens' eggs, homemade bread and excellent local produce; and the marvellous walks in and around the spectacular grounds. This would make a perfect couples' midweek getaway or long weekend break.
This is a lovely, charming and cosy bed & breakfast. Patricia made us feel very welcomed and looked after. Our room was a good size, clean and very comfortable. It had a balcony that over looked the garden and the ocean. Patricia's breakfasts were very good. On the second day, she made us an "off-menu" omelette so that we would be "bored" of eating the same thing again. It's quite remote, and isolated, so don't expect a bustling nightlife. The rooms come equipped with a television and a DVD player. There is also a sitting room with a tv and DVD/BluRay player, with a good selection of films for you to choose from. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you wanted somewhere quiet and relaxing.
The room was really clean, had ocean view room (magic) Patricia the owner made you feel so welcome. She cooked up a mean contental breakfast, a little out of Busselton but quite and peaceful. Definitly be back no doubt this year.
