Nice location and the house is very spacious which worked well for our family. The age of the home provides some beautiful architecture. Bathrooms are nice, but showers are somewhat slippery.Kitchen is very large to accommodate everyone but needs more silverware and a glass 9x13 pan. Also coffee pot didn't work when I was told to bring 'grounds'.We used the patio for dinner and enjoyed music from the restaurant across the street
We had a very good stay overall. The property is clean, spacious, and well-suited for a large group. Having exclusive use of the house was a major plus and made the experience very comfortable for everyone. The two on-site managers were especially helpful and friendly, which we really appreciated. It would have been helpful to receive a confirmation a day or two prior to arrival, even though check in was easy as it is done at the motel reception.A couple of points to be aware of are that the house is located on the grounds of the White Rose Motel, and therefore the swimming pool is shared. Also the kitchen area is large and includes a big table, which is great for gathering, but it is not well equipped for cooking. There was only one frying pan, no pots, and very limited utensils—no spatulas, bowls, corkscrew, or kitchen towels/paper. The host did provide a toaster for breakfast upon request, which was helpful, but overall the kitchen setup is basic. In summary, this is a great option for groups looking for a clean, spacious place to stay in the heart of downtown especially if you do not plan to cook extensively.
The location is excellent, walking distance to absolutely everything, and not difficult for our friend with a scooter and mobility issues to do everything we did. The place is clean enough where it really counts, though not great. There were straight pins in a carpet, beard trimmings under a mirror, and the rugs and floor are just plain dirty. Some rooms smell like mold. It is an old building that is more college town than B&B, but we were families doing the tourist thing, not trying to impress in-laws at a wedding. Every room had an attached bathroom(plus three more not in bedrooms - 9 toilets total!), which is really important when traveling with multiple families and couples. The building is very quiet, air conditioned to an extreme (especially the basement), the pool is a good size and clean enough, with some shade from the trees. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen and dining room fit all of us. The stove is great, fridge on the small side but adequate, all the spices and S&P were provided, as well as coffee maker and some random tea and coffee stuff. There was no toaster or normal glasses (only wine gasses (no corkscrew) and ridiculously tiny mugs). We ended up buying a toaster and glasses at Walmart. There were zero bowls and four random spoons, so the kids took turns eating cereal from the glasses we bought. I never actually met the staff, as my husband did the initial check-in and I did everything online on my phone. The office was closed when we checked out.
