I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights while in Windhoek for work. The hotel is very nice, if a bit pricey. The pros: the location is great, right in the center of Widhoek and about a 25-30 minute drive from the airport. The WiFi was slow occasionally, but mostly worked well. There is a gorgeous rooftop pool and bar, which offers great views and is a good place to hang out after a long day. The breakfast in the restaurant is pretty good, nothing out of the ordinary but still a great way to start the day. The gym is small, but it has enough equipment to get a decent workout in. The rooms themselves are nice, clean and spacious. The same is true for the bathrooms. The bed is very comfortable. The only cons I experienced in my time there were that there are only 3 elevators, so you can wait a few minutes until one is available (particularly if one is out, as was the case for part of my stay). There was a line when I was checking in, so that took a little while, but the service from staff was otherwise great. The restaurant was good for breakfast, but only okay otherwise. There are a lot of other fantastic restaurants nearby, so I might suggest exploring those during your time in Windhoek. The hotel was a bit pricey, but to be expected for a hotel this nice. The cons are all minor, however, and I definitely would stay here again during my next trip to Windhoek. I would also recommend this hotel to anyone going!
We stayed our first night in Namibia here and had a very good experience. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was large (two double beds) and comfortable with good amenities. The only reason I didn't give it the full five stars is that the bathroom gives very little privacy. There is no door between the shower area and the rest of the room, which is awkward if you are traveling with your kid or a friend! The breakfast buffet was really good and staff came by often to check on our meal. The breads were especially good. Free standard wifi was available to HiltonHonors members. This seems like a new property, and it was in very good condition. I would stay here again.
Staying here for the third time, meaning I am quite pleased overall. The main issue is the food. The breakfast is OK, but would expect better bread and cereals in the morning. I ordered a club sandwich twice in the lobby for a quick lunch and two times it was just OK. I had lunch once in the main restaurant (28 March 2018) and ordered the tataki tuna. Far too much wasabi and half an hour later I had a high fever and rashes all over me, most likely food poisoning. This is unacceptable in a hotel linked to the Hilton chain. So yes, stay here but eat somewhere else ...
I checked back to my review on 20 November 2017 and hesitated when I needed a night’s accommodation after a cancelled flight out of Windhoek. I thought perhaps the hotel had an off day last year and being a Hilton Honours member with great experiences elsewhere I decided to give them another chance. Unfortunately, nothing has changed. Reception staff are simply not focused at all, they lack professionalism and friendliness. I had to double check my transfer arrangements again to avoid not getting to the airport on time (again). Every single “facility” is chargeable. Most regrettable again. I would recommend the adjacent Avani hotel and will certainly go there for my future visits.
Great heated pool on top for swimmers. However, management needs to control thieving of staff. Its centrally located and restaurants are ok. There are many more good eating establishments in walking distance.
Very good hotel in central business district of Windhoek. The room was spacious, well appointed, quiet. Comfy bed. Large bathroom (a little too integrated with the room - looks nice but perhaps not super practical when sharing a room...) Great pool area. Nice restaurant. Totally my fault - I accidentally booked the wrong date (by one day) phoned the hotel to get that cancelled even if it was not refundable - within 5 minutes of making the booking - but they refused to refund that booking. I understand it was my fault - but I was hoping for a little flexibility and a refund given I realised my mistakes within 5 minutes and I was going to stay there the next night. It is not like the hotel was fully booked and they missed out.
The last time I stayed at the Hilton Windhoek, I signed up for the Hilton Honors program. Unfortunately, I didn’t pass on the details on check-in. This time around, I remembered. Free WiFi and I was fortunate enough to get an upgrade to a Diplomatic Suite from the Executive King I’d originally booked. Overall, a wonderful stay and I look forward to returning soon!
Great room and service on arrival and during my stay. Restaurant food bit expensive but food was delicious. I arrived late and they were pleasant and made my arrival special even though I arrived after 22h00
Great Service and location. Concierge service was very helpful. They found us a great tour guide in a minutes notice ( James David +264813223138 was Awesome.). They have Car rentals in the lobby if you plan on exploring other cities.
