Traveling to Denver, saw the Holiday Inn Express sign and decided to stop for the night. The hotel is a bit dated, but clean and the beds comfortable. The little "extras" that this hotel has that others do not are small reading lights on both sides of the beds, a wide end table between the beds that actually accommodates personal items in addition to the clock and phone that are provided by the hotel.... and a great TV. Whether or not the lights and larger end table are because the hotel is a bit older I do not know but we appreciated these small differences. We will definitely stay here again when traveling out west.
Great place to stay in Newton. Bed was very comfortable; it is very clean. The breakfast had wonderful selections, much better than the usual motel breakfast bar. The front desk personnel were very friendly and efficient.
First stop on our journey to AZ for the winter. This establishment more than met our expectations. Quick check in and when Bri told us that chicken was on the menu for supper and was included in the price, well, we were a happy couple. Room was very clean and well maintained. Bacon, eggs, toast, juice and coffee were on the menu as well as other assorted goodies when we left in the morning after a quiet restful night. This Inn is definitely on our return to short list.
Very comfortable and clean. I was a bit confused about setting the temp as the thermostat on the wall didnt seem to change things so I kept the thermostat on the heater synced with the one on the wall and we were fine. Otherwise no complaints...
We arrived with our three small children early on purpose so we could swim. We were shocked when the front desk attendant told us that the pool was broken. The room we originally requested through hotels.com wouldn't allow for a rollaway so they upgraded us to a suite. Wonderful bonus. Room was well apportioned, comfortable and amazingly clean. I am a clean freak and this place was totally amazing. The sheets were luxurious, there were several types of pillows to choose from "soft" and "firm" noted on the pillowcases. The bathroom was spotless. Only complaint was that the counter by the sink was tiny for all five of us. And the lighting was insufficient for doing makeup. We had a great night's sleep. Only suggestion there is if traffic noise bothers you to request a room on the backside of the hotel. Breakfast was amazing!! I have never seen such a variety at a hotel breakfast. There was cereal, yogurt, fruit, milk, pancakes in a pancake maker, eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, cinnamon rolls, muffins, bagels, juice, and coffee. And even though there was a whole college soccer team (men's and womens) getting breakfast nothing ran out. Back to the pool issue. I called hotels.com because it was booked through them and holiday inn couldn't refund directly. After about 10 minutes of conversation... they fully refunded our charges for the hotel room. I was shocked! I had expected a comp but not an entire refund. Long story short, despite the hassle of no pool, I would def stay at this hotel again and use hotels.com for booking.
Once again we made this our stop during a road trip. Best halfway point for us and an exceptional resource. This brand has always been more than what we expect and once again has impressed. We recommend this brand for everyone.
Our visit really displayed what customer service means. Cheerful employees, helpful suggestions, clean, all you would expect. Staff take an interest in your experience and respond immediately solve any miscommunication. We stayed elsewhere last visit to KS, really regret it. Attitude cannot be purchased or assessed over the web. Staff's attitude and professionalism made our trip more enjoyable.
In Newton for family wedding and our group had quite a few rooms at this hotel. I was pleasantly surprised it was pet friendly as my local HI Express is not. This is a big deal for several family members and we search out pet friendly hotels. My room was clean, bathroom was clean, and the decor and furniture appeared to be recently updated. Everything worked, and I liked the miniature reading lights attached to both sides of each bed. The bed was comfortable and there were plenty of pillows. Towels and washcloths were plush and felt new. My only complaint is the terrible bathroom lighting. Holiday Inn Express is not alone here, as most are just as bad. Hotels are simply not listening to their guests when they say that bathroom lighting is just inadequate. I'd like to see all hotels spend whatever it takes to put some seriously lighting up the bathroom mirror/counter area. That said, I would stay here again as the place is clean, modern, and pet friendly.
Had a great stay while home visiting family. The hotel is just off the interstate and is pet friendly ($10 fee). Very clean with a great breakfast. We'll be staying there again if we stop in Newton for the night!
We stayed 2 nights this past weekend. Our room was large, clean and quiet. We did have kids or ? walking or running around in the room above us at about 10:30 for a while one night. The hotel has 3 floors. Our room faced the back parking lot of the hotel which was good. Did not notice doors slamming like you do in most hotels. They seemed to close quieter than most. Or room had 3 bath towels and 4 wash cloths. The refrigerator was a good size and was inside a cabinet so not noisy. There was a Keurig. The only 2 negatives we noticed were that the bathroom needs a vent and the room felt very damp. Breakfast was fine. They have a pancake maker. I love the warm cinnamon rolls served at Holiday Inn Express. Eggs and bacon were good. Staff including housekeeping was friendly. Housekeeping staff was quiet in the hallway compared to some hotels. We would stay there again.
