We have stayed in this hotel several times. We love how above and beyond staff work to make our stay comfortable. It is pet friendly and they love our doggies. During our last stay they prepped our breakfast so we could eat together in our room with our dog. The hotel has been renovated and is very nice. The price was great. We payed less than $100 for a king room and breakfast which was made to our liking. Couldn't ask for anything more. Love it!
Recently stayed with a group of 13 with 4 rooms at the Quality Inn Whitecourt. Price included breakfast on the website but hotel wanted to charge extra for over 2 people in each room. Even though “no smoking” signs were posted throughout hotel, you could smell the stale smoke and other smoke throughout the hallways. Inside our room did not smell of smoke. One of our rooms we could not get into as batteries had gone dead on door keypad and took about half an hour to get into another room. It was an ok place to stay. Not bad rates.
Terrible food and all I had was wings & ribs. Ribs were uncooked to the point one was raw. Wings dipped in flour and wrecked the flavour but they were cooked. Give less wings and leave the flour off. Might be some of the worst food I have ever had. Service was ok but answer to raw ribs I will give you 30% off.
We are driving from Southern Illinois to Alaska and our drive took us thru Whitecourt. Checked out a hotel before Quality Inn and end up being very pleased with how that worked out. Not only was the price better but they also offered a nice hot breakfast. On top of that, very friendly workers! Was a nice comfortable stay and all around great service. Thanks, Quality Inn!
With the exception of 2 things the stay and place was decent. First and most important thing to mention was the sewage smell when we entered the room. I just figured the hotel was slow and the water needed to be ran so I flushed and ran water for a bit. I closed the door and it helped but we were so tired I left it and we slept after spraying some odor stuff in the room. The second was minor but the hotel had a set of steps going to our room which we got put in and it just seemed a weird design to put them there and make people carry their luggage or in my case having to take everyone's luggage down them so we could get to our room. Minor annoyance and wasn't really a big deal. The staff were friendly and the price was right so grats on that!
Room was standard good quality Choice room. Comfortable bed, clean bathroom, good TV selection. But not a room to spend a lot of time in, as window (second floor facing river) is mostly blocked by a large heater/air conditioner unit. Bedside lamp did not work. No electrical plugs for car block heater: and it gets cold here minus 35 C. Breakfast was terrible, meat-like substance dripping with grease even though there was a full staffed kitchen. Desk did not properly report my loyalty points to national office of Choice hotels. Ask for a room as far as possible from the near-by highway, which is full of big trucks. Summary: I would stay again for one night during travelling, as the night was very comfortable, but I would not choose this motel for staying more than one night.
Stayed here for about a month Feb/March 2017 Rooms.are clean and tended every day. Place has friendly staff and a nice bar. Hotel.is pretty plain and some rooms are updated and some are dated. Place is a bit run down but its not that pricey so you get what u pay for. Close to train and big sawmill. I was working nights and the train was very noticable at times. Laundry is available for $ there is an attached restaurant and it is easily the best part of the hotel. You can tell it's a small owner run kind of place. The service is friendly if a bit slow. The food is worth the wait. I ate breakfast here every day for 4 weeks and it was excellent every time. Other items on the dinner menu were equally good. Like I said it's not fast food. But it sure is worth the wait. I think there is a spa of some kind but I did not partake.
I booked a smoking room. I arrived and told the smoking rooms are all being renovated. No phone call in advance. Gave me a room with a balcony to be able to smoke on the deck. Door to the deck could not open. The renovated the lounge, but did not do the washrooms. What a waste. Not a very good TV channel selection.
My husband and I love going here the food is great it's all home made. My favourite is there soups they are home made as well the fish and chips and the pizza subs are my husbands favourite. The service is also fantastic.
Driving up north from Edmonton and needing a place to spend the night. The price was right and the rooms were basic but clean and staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included and also basic with eggs and sausage or ham. A bit on the greasy side but quite good. There was a fitness room but it looks like an afterthought and had very little for equipment, no TV or fan or mats for stretching. Not a very inspiring area for a workout. Dark and dingy. We had a good night sleep and continued on our travels.
