The lobby closes at 5 pm. While the after 5 pm check-in -using text and email - worked fine, I would have preferred a smiling face behind the office counter. That works better more me -- especially if there were "issues" of one kind or another.

The Saltwater has great views of the ocean! And it's located right by the viewing tower, and a short walk to the charming line of shops and the marina. The rooms were recently renovated and are clean and comfortable.

I booked through Expedia. I was texted my room number and door lock key code the day of check-in. They do not keep the lobby open, but that presented no problems. The room was clean and recently remodeled. The bed was comfortable. There was no air conditioning, but there is excellent flow through ventilation and a fan was provided so we slept comfortably. An extra blanket was also provided and was needed. I had an interaction with housekeeping and it was pleasant. The room had a view of the marina and ocean views were available from the door. We watched the sunset from the landing in front of the room. Parking was plentiful. The wildlife can be loud with the windows open, but earplugs were provided. Overall, it was a perfect experience. I would certainly stay here again There is an on-site restaurant called The Siren which had excellent service with decent food.

Fun Family Vacation

We had a wonderful extended family trip to Westport for two nights. We rented three rooms at the Saltwater Inn. The second floor Marina View room was our gathering spot for snacks and board games. The view from the King Harbor room is somewhat diminished by the cloudiness of the windows. That room also seems to be designed for very tall people, as the toilet and bed are both much higher off the ground than usual. The internet connection worked very well. We loved the shops and restaurants. The children in our group enjoyed climbing on the rocks by the beach. We included a visit to the Westport Lighthouse and State Park. This is our second time making this trip and we did it because the children asked for a repeat visit.
