The unobstructed view of Jungfrau from the balcony is perfect. Whether admiring the majestic mountain while drinking coffee in the morning or watching the snow-topped peaks change colors at sunset was a highlight of our vacation. The apartment is clean and well-equipped. The kitchen had everything we needed for meal preparation. It is only a 5-minute walk to the COOP grocery, only a 5-minute walk to the train station, and a 7-minute walk to the Männlichen gondola, which makes getting to all the must-see villages and hikes in the region very easy. Even though the train track to/from Kleine Scheidegg is nearby, it is not very loud, and, besides, the train to Kleine Scheidegg stops running in the early evening. (The train to Lauterbrunnen, which does not pass by the apartment, continues running much later in the evening, which is nice for coming back from Lauterbrunnen and excursions beyond there.) It is a rather steep climb from the train station and downtown Wengen to the apartment, but that is going to be the case no matter where one stays in Wengen, and is a small price to pay for the tremendous location and view of this apartment. Having the washer and dryer were essential for our two week stay. And while not essential, the collection of James Bond and Pink Panther DVDs made for some enjoyable evening TV time. The furniture and carpets are not the newest, but are perfectly functional. We give this Eden apartment our highest recommendation. We would love to come back.
