Our ABSOLUTE fav VRBO for a couples ...plus dog getaway! Perfect for us since we love visiting Kilmarnock, Irvington and White Stone restaurants etc. Nice set up...extremely quiet and right on the water. Comfortable furniture, linens, w and the interior is so welcoming and beautifully done...the total package!

A Hidden Gem

The reviews on this property are true…you cannot get any closer to the water without being in it!! Everything about this rental is great! Absolutely no traffic, quiet, peaceful and great food in Irvington. A real hidden gem.

Exceptional Experience

We stayed at The Crab Shack over Easter weekend and were so impressed by the property, the eve of communication with the owner, and the beautiful setting. While this is a smaller home, it is packed with amenities and is perfect for a couples’ getaway. We loved our experience & are looking forward to booking again soon!

Total relaxation surrounded by natural beauty

The Crab Shack is magical. The rustic property has been updated in thoughtful ways to provide guests with a peaceful escape. The water and other natural surroundings allowed us to relax and reconnect with nature and each other. The quiet location is close a lot of adorable towns with good food options. Highly recommend.

A True Hidden Gem

This was our third stay at the crab shack, and we plan to come back forever! Of course it is clean, cozy, and quant, but mostly, there is a such a peaceful energy to the place that is hard to put into words! You cannot beat the serene feeling that you get from staying here!

Great time at the Crab Shack

We just got back from a long weekend at the Crab Shack. We had such a great time at this lovely spot. Could not have been more comfortable or relaxing. Loved the accommodations and the location could not have been better. An added bonus was the fact that the fish were biting and the crabs were plentiful! We look forward to our next visit.

It's Hard to Be Crabby at the Crab Shack

We enjoyed the beautiful waterfront views especially the spectacular sunrises. The passing boats and waterfowl entertained us all day and the dock was a great place to relax in the evening. The decor was perfect for a waterfront residence, casual but well equipped. With all the delightful views, comfortable furnishings and great activities close by, it's hard to be crabby at the "Crab Shack."

Peaceful and remote, yet convenient getaway

We loved staying at Carlisle's place and the location was beautiful and remote while still close to everything! Our favorite thing to do was sit outside and watch the boats go by. So peaceful. Carlisle was also the most responsive host we've ever had, which I think is a huge plus. FYI: We didn't have phone service while at the Shack (we use Mint Mobile), so I would make plans to prepare for that in case it could be an issue. For the most part, it was a welcome escape from the daily grind of technology and always having to be connected.

Celebrating 39 year

This property is everything we hoped for. The view is stunning just down Carters Creek from the Tides Inn so the boat traffic is constant. The Crab Shack is so cute with breathtaking views out of every window. The host is great to work with and she made every bit of our stay a pleasure. We cannot wait to go back and that includes our 11 lbs dachshund who loved laying on the pier enjoying the beautiful afternoon breeze.

Amazing Crab Shack

Staying at the Crab Shack was wonderful. It is so beautiful, simple and peaceful. Carlisle has thought of everything and was so helpful. We loved our daily excursions but loved coming "home" to the Shack. A reminder to pause and slow down! Simple but Significant....

Always a Pleasure!

We come down to the Neck regularly and love staying at the Shack; Carlisle is always proactive in making sure we have everything we need. It’s just the right size for a nice retreat and ideally located near all of the great things to do and places to eat. And you can’t beat the view! We’ll be back soon!

Awesome location.

The Crab Shack is perfectly located near the "triangle" of White Stone, Irvington and Kilmarnock. The fireplace is great and everything you need for a comfortable stay is provided. It is a unique property and well worth the drive from FL.

Relaxation at it's best!

This little cottage packs a huge punch! Beautiful sunrises over Carters Creek, comfortable furnishings, convenient to shops and restaurants. The gas fireplace was nice in the evenings, along with our music played through the bluetooth speaker. We never even watched TV!
