Starting with the positive, the hotel is very beautiful, specially the pool area and the golf course. Restaurant is good, reasonable food with good service. The rooms are spacious (we were in a room for 4 and it is separated in 2 spaces with a great view of the pool area). As for the negative, the basketball/soccer court is super old and with bad maintenance. Not the worst problem though... service in the reception was terrible. The lady received us as if she was tired of a long day, put us in a room with a back view while we had reserved and paid for the front view... when we noticed and came back to complain, she never apologized. Just said she would change (as if it was a favor) and took forever to do so. Not coming back.
It's a beautiful hotel. Pros: Great rooms and architectural distribution. It has a wonderful pool and pool area, tennis courts and golf. Which we enjoyed. Con: - Food is not very good - Maintenace is very bad (cracked paint in rooms, drawers in closet are broken, pool chairs are broken, etc)
We booked this hotel for a weekend escape from Bogota. On the pictures it looks like a decent place, but in reality this hotel is disgusting and literally falling apart. DON'T BE FOOLED BY THE PICTURES! Upon entering our room we were a bit shocked by the tears and cracks in the walls, the dirty chairs, not working curtains, and stained toilet. We decided to throw on our bathing suits and just relax by the pool. That's where we met Paul and Gabriel - these guys saved our experience! If it wasn't for them I would definitely have rated 1 star. Paul made me delicious custom made cocktails the entire weekend and Gabriel is just running around to provide everyone the best service posible. We had a great time with them at the pool bar. So back to business: Apart from the above I cannot find one positive thing to write about this hotel. The restaurant furniture hasn't been renovated in forever, old menus, bad service, no good food - terrible! Also the breakfast is very poor with very limited options. We had a massage included and I honestly enjoy my boyfriend's at-home (unprofessional) massage a lot more than what I got here. And to top it off.. you get a key card for towels at the pool, if you loose them you pay 50.000 per card. And let me be clear I perfectly understand why but if a guest comes to reception to tell you that they returned their towels but left one of the cards on a bed while having some cocktails at the bar when it started raining like hell and had to run to the room (we went right after the rain stopped) cut them some slack really!! I will not return to this hotel nor will I recommend it - I will actually advise people not to visit to be honest.
If you are planning to escape from routine and crowds, this is the place to stay. Located just minutes away from Los Ocarros Park, offers a good menu for Breakfast and Lunch/Dinner. Nice pool, for adults and children, indoor activities like pool and table tennis. Rooms are comfy.
This hotel is falling apart. Nothing works. The air conditioner woke us up at 2:00AM with a screeching noise. The toilets flowed constantly with a loud noise, also keeping us awake, and instead of sending a plumber, the hotel sent a "maintenance" person. The individual was clueless about how to solve the problem, of course, though he gave quite the show of making "adjustments." The toilet needs a new flapper valve, but they probably no longer can get those valves, so here we sit a day later. None of the remotes for TVs or AC work properly. We can't close the windows because the latches are broken, so bugs enter the room regularly. On the rear of the entrance door, the mirror is missing but the mounting adhesive remains, and looks terrible. The "sauna" looks disgusting and is not very hot. The steam room was plenty hot but looks and smells nasty. Throughout the property, everything is crumbling, needs painting, and just looks shabby. We stayed here 3 years ago and it has deteriorated considerably since then, so it's clear they are not spending anything on maintenance. The restaurant is a total joke. One look at the disgusting "menu" which hasn't been changed in forever gives you an idea of the level of cleanliness. The menus are covered in slimy, sticky food residue. Tables are not clean. Service is slow and random. The steak I ordered was tough and inedible. The recreation room is a joke. The ping pong table has deteriorated, and the paddles and "ball" are unusable. The fitness center's equipment was mostly uncorking, with missing buttons on the treadmills, unbalanced and creaking ellipticals, etc. There are so many things wrong with this hotel that it does not good to complain. The "maintenance" guy who came to look at the AC unit said the problem was that when it "freezes," ice grates against the fan motor. His solution was to turn it off to allow it to thaw, which naturally left a puddle of water on the floor. No other solution provided. We are asking for new rooms but I don't think that will solve the problem. I'm sure those will have new issues. Don't waste your money on this dive. We certainly will never come back.
I am presently at the hotel and have already stayed 5 nights as I was simply looking for a warmer place than Bogota to relax, enjoy some sun and golf, etc. So it's safe to say I have a fairly good idea of the place. The Good: 1. The setting is absolutely remarkable. The pool area is slightly elevated giving you an amazing view of the golf course and the plains below. Great job on the design, you really took advantage of the location! 2. The pools are geat. One 25 meter pool for lap swimming, and another circle pool with swim up bar for lounging and a tiny kids pool. All very clean. They play an awesome mix of Latin music throughout the day and the songs don't repeat. One note is that the Wi-Fi by the pool loses connection quite often, but otherwise perfect setup. 3. The staff are all very friendly and take the time to talk to you (I'm fluent in Spanish.) Luis and Oswaldo from the restaurant are especially standout gentlemen. The front desk was also very kind to extend my stay by one extra day at no cost since I wasn't able to arrive for my first night. Very nice of them. 4. The rooms are large, beds comfy, huge tvs with direct TV satellite, air con, great view from your balcony if you can get a room on the 3rd floor facing the pool/plains. Bathrooms are a little on the small side but no big deal. The Bad: 1. The beef at the restaurant!! Please believe me don't order beef or pork here. It's terribly chewy, bland, and gets stuck so bad in your teeth. I'm no chef nor foodie, but it's very bad and not a cheap price either. Overall I would stay away from the dinner menu. The breakfast is yummy, however, and the chicken burger is pretty decent for lunch. 2. Golf green fee (60,000 pesos) plus renting older style clubs (another 60,000 pesos....since when are rentals the same as green fee??) plus caddy fee (35,000) plus buying golf balls (forget price) doesn't make for an economical round. Even worse was that it started pouring rain on the 11th hole and I was soaked so we walked in and they said I could play again sometime during my stay starting where I left off for no extra cost. Seemed fair, until a few days later when the sun finally shone and I asked to play and they tried to charge me another full 60,000 pesos for rental clubs to play the remaining 7 holes and another full 35,000 caddy fee. I had to put up quite a fight and finally they let-go of the rental charge but I did have to pay the caddy fee again. That's just bad business and reflects poorly on your hotel/golf course. 3.The golf course is nice, don't get me wrong. But if you're looking for a well groomed course as you might find in Canada or the US you'll be disappointed. Fairways are a little patchy, greens bumpy, bunkers are just rocks. But the natural surroundings and seeing all kinds of exotic birds still make it worthwhile for something to do. Be careful with some of the birds as they attack you if you're close to their nest. I nearly connected with one with my driver as it flew straight at my head. Probably would have tasted way better than any meat on the menu lol. 4. The weather!!! Obviously not the hotel's fault, but still it was terrible. The sun came out about 3 times the whole week and otherwise it rained heavily every day with thick cloud cover. I am staying mid-June and supposedly it's not supposed to be like this, but it is. It's raining now and I'm so bored which is why I'm spending like an hour on this review. I don't know if I trust the weather enough to reserve a vacation here again. Apparently in December and January it's hot and sunny. 5. I arrived on Tuesday and the hotel was essentially empty. On Wednesday and Thursday they must have turned off the hot water since I was the only room in the tower and they were looking to save costs. When more people arrived on the weekend hot water was back on. Overall impression: A very nice hotel in an amazingly beautiful and natural location. Besides some of the kinks mentioned above, I still enjoyed my stay and had it not been so cloudy and rainy it would have been awesome. These are my unbiased and honest opinions I hope they are of use to you.
I was there with a large group for a seminar. It is about a 3 hour drive or 45 flight from Bogota. This area is a large plain like area that is considerably warmer than Bogota. This resort is off the main road and located on several acres. There is a golf course on the grounds. There is also a nice view of both the mountains and the plains. This is a tropical area - we had thunderstorms every night and the temperatures were high. The rooms are located in several buildings numbered A-K. There are stairs or an elevator. You have to walk around the pool to get to your rooms. My room was large and clean. The Wifi worked well. The AC wasn't so good for me - I got really warm in the middle of the night. The bathroom was clean but there was no walk in shower. There was stairs to get up into the tub. So, probably not very good for someone older or with balance issues. The pool area was very nice and clean. There was a large pool and another smaller pool. There is an area for conferences which we used for the 100 people we invited to the seminar. The restaurant was just ok -it took me forever every time I was in the restaurant to get someone to serve me a drink. Generally, the resort needed some things upgraded in the lobby areas and rooms.
My family and I stayed at this hotel and had a really good time. Breakfast was included and it was really good, lots of fruits, we loved it. Staff was helpful, rooms were clean and nice. The only thing I noticed is that the hotel is deteriorating, it seems that management has forgotten to do some maintenance in the rooms and the public areas. Also, they need to get more towels. Overall, we had a good time.
This hotel is a gem in a natural surrounding which is rare to find nowadays. The climate (at least in May) is perfect and you can really relax here. The staff is superfriendly and helpful. The pool is a dream and the on site pizzeria is good for a hearty dinner. The room has a wonderful soft bed which allows for a dreamlike sleep. The bathroom is a bit on the small side, but this is just a detail, which will not spoil your stay. Watch out when walking around when it is wet - the pathways are then very slippery. Fantastic place - even for a short visit from Bogotá. Will be back!!
Excellent service, hotel stuff is always available an open to help. Installations are excellent as well, rooms are clean and comfy. Really comfortable spaces and a great golf course. Food is really nice and you can find fresh water in the common areas such as the reception.
