A really nice, new, well appointed apartment in a lovely quiet spot in the middle of the huge wine growing area around the Douro. The check in was a little confusing as the owner had to open the secure double gates. Once we'd accessed the accommodation this was fine as we had a key to open these. The owner didn't speak English but we had a phone tour from her daughter which was great. The property is accessed down a narrow road for 2kms so is remote from local shops and restaurants. The accommodation was fine although some small things weren't available such as washing up cloths, sponges, bedside table on one side of the beds. The mezzanine floor had a very low ceiling so I kept hitting my head. There was also quite a noisy family using the pool although the apartment is very well soundproofed so not a big problem. In summary an enjoyable stay but some minor issues.
