On a business trip, arriving late evening. Service is so so at front door, same at reception. Thought visiting a friendly country, would expect some smiling & friendly faces, not the case. First impression entering the room is tired, need lots of uplift, bedding is hard, wouldn't really expect that in a small city hotel. At check out the next day, we were early, took really a while to get our bills sort out, between my other business 3 colleagues, room & transportation charges... And for a less than 10' distance to the airport, $15 for each of us are steep... !, will not stay again in my next business trips.
Centrally located and a short walk to a number of popular haunts along Mekong River, the clean rooms, amenities (to organise business functions), and most importantly the friendly and helpful staff makes my stay in Vientiane always pleasant and stress free. The GM of the hotel, Christopher, is very personable and approachable, and is always ready to offer a helping hand. This is important for travelers (especially first timers!) and highly recommended.
Old style Hotel, feels like stepping back a few years.I arrived to spend eight days at the hotel and was put on the fourth floor. It was quite comfortable until the lift stopped and there is 70 steps to the Reception! However the Manager changed my room to a lovely suite on the second floor The staff are very friendly as opposed to the general population which is quite "surley" Breakfast OK and lovely swimming pool. Overall I enjoyed the Hotel when compared to the City generally which I didn't like.
I had a great time here on the occasion of my first ever trip to Laos. The staff were uniformly kind and helpful. A friendly "Sabaidee" was never far from their lips. I loved my upgraded third floor room as it was very spacious and had a good view out over the Pool. That Pool itself was divine amidst the heat and the sun of the capital's late summer season. There is a gym and a handy Business Centre. The location of the property also represents the epitome of convenience for good restaurants and central city attractions. I also appreciated the free welcome drinks and the Poolside Bar's discounted Happy Hour beverages!
Located in nearest the Mekong river, the oldest city of Langxang kingdom, not so far from the airport, and you can walk from the hotel to the night market and admit the sunset across the Mekong. You can also spend your time to drink some beer and sunset looking
3 star property but bed quality is not good, staff are friendly and helpful, with very limited English skill, breakfast is reasonably range n quality, however don't expect too much service and food are not replaced quickly. Overall ok stay.
I stayed here 5 nights. The hotel was perfect for me. Central, safe, clean. Pool was excellent. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Room was beautiful and spacious and clean. I would highly recommend this hotel.
The hotel is quite old, so it's no surprise that the rooms are rather dated, but clean. However we were pleasantly surprised the next morning that the dining room looked quite recently refurbished. The breakfast spread was decent and tasted good as well. The hotel location is not in the town itself, so it's quite deserted at night, and there are no convenience stores or amenities nearby. It's good for a one night stay in Vientiane.
Clean, functional and comfortable walking distance to town and Mekong. Genuine 3.5 stars. English comprehension a mixed bag amongst the staff. But that might be because we were 10 rowdy Australian golfers. I'd stay there again.
I have to say everything was perfect from the check in, clean room, delicious food until check out. i had a pool view room and for my next stay i would ask to have a room with street view as you could have a real good view into the city and direction of the Mekhong River.
