From the moment we drove up, we found this hotel to exceed our expectations, We were very pleased with all the accommodations from the outside area, to the individual rooms.
Unfriendly front desk staff at check-in didn't talk us anything about the hotel just gave the keys, bad service there and the restaurant very slowly, careless, don't care about offering good attention, could be they added the tip to Bill so does not matter how bad they served.. Great views from the restaurant bad with the service not working.. We were celebrating our 24 wedding anniversary and wanted a nice dinner but we end in a restaurant in town just for that service and now they charged 299.84 that supposed to be a preathorization to my credit card and not matters how I tried to talk to them just didn't care to fix it and now just waiting to the bank to deal with them because their customer service does not exist.. Very sad because the property is nice...
Very comfortable, ocean view, fantastic! Best hotel I've ever stayed in.
The room was spacious and quite comfortable. It was fun to watch the seals from our window right in our room. We stopped at the restaurant for a cocktail at the bar and were quite impressed with the happy hour selections. We shared among three of us a 2 pound steamer and clam pot. It was delicious! And 1/2 off during happy hour!
My husband and I loved this hotel. The only thing that I wish they had was a continental breakfast.
When we arrived, there was no one to help us with our bags or check in. Finally someone checked us in, but then we had to get a cart and take the bags to the room ourselves. The restaurant wouldn't allow me to get a beer at the bar and take it to my room. Even though the first night we stayed was very economical at less than $200/night, we had a camping mishap and showed up at 9 pm a few nights later to try and stay another night. We were told that the only room available was for $400. Instead of just taking pity on us and giving us the room at a lower rate, we went to another hotel which was fantastic, friendly and economical.
This hotel is farther from Victoria than advertised. It's in an odd location. We were on our honeymoon and were given a room on one quiet and eerie corner of the hotel. There were piles of dirty sheets that housekeeping had just left for 2 days outside other rooms on our floor. Our comforter had a stain on it which we had to ask to be replaced. There is no cable despite a flat screen in the bathroom too. The staff is not friendly and each time were were in the lobby we heard other guests complaining. The small cafe had a rude employee who told us that we should just go eat at the restaurant because she was closing in 15 minutes. This lazy employee didn't want to help us even though all I wanted was a quick bite. We heard doors slamming early morning that woke us up and when we complained they were convincing us it was noise from open windows. Our room was definitely haunted considering strange unexplainable noises and and creepy feeling at night. We never saw a single person on this top floor we were staying in. There was something very strange about this hotel. The location isn't great and it looks like it's on the verge of being shut down.
Hotel is in a great location right on the water in Sooke. Expected a little more service for the price. The experience doesn't live up to the pictures. Coffee shop and wine bar were never open. Seemed to be understaffed a bit. Maybe this is because we stayed midweek?
My wife and I were glad for this place on our recent trip to Victoria. Very comfortable room and immaculate. Nice to be on the waterfront, loved the big lobby windows and outdoor porch for the view. Great front desk staff, helpful and very friendly. We saved money by staying here instead of the downtown hotels, but perhaps this was because we were just days early of the start of tourism season. Keep in mind the extra fuel costs though, since there is a 40-45 minute drive from the hotel to the city. Very quiet area, on the waterfront and near lots of woods. Location limits the availability of dining along the road.
