Noisy? The Irish bar across the alley, that is simply a risk in a small place like Victoria. The drunks fighting below our window at 330 a.m., an underscore of awesomeness. The rude female clerk at the front desk? Sorry we bothered you, feel free to go back to telling your coworker your work complaints. You spin a yarn better than Mickey Spillane.

The room itself wasnt bad but the inconvenience of having to park 2 blocks away and the parkade was closed during the weekend so we needed to get a key card from the lobby go park the car then had 30 min to being the key card back to the lobby. Was very inconvenient if we wanted to park there and then go elsewhere we needed to return card first. Also paying for this inconvenience $18 per day

The staff were very pleasant and my room was clean. The bathroom definitely needs some work as the floor of the bathtub was chipping away in a number of spots and the tile grout was stained. Also - it was noisy! But we were warned about that and came prepared. There was also a wood burning fireplace in our room. We didn’t use it this trip, but it would be a lovely feature on a rainy day!

The location is superb with shops, restaurants, harbour and public transport stops all within an easy walking distance. The hotel has luggage storage facility; convenient for us as we checked out at noon but our flight was only at midnight. Our room had a really small TV inside the closet; that would be the only thing that was a bit odd; apart from that, we enjoyed our day at this hotel both times and we would gladly go back on our next trip to Victoria.

We got one hour of sleep two nights in a row because the bar next door was blasting a cover band until after midnight. Also weird layout to the room. There was one mirror that had no light around it. Trim was loose, holes in walls, shower took 5 minutes to warm up…

It is difficult to adequately describe our disappointment with the Bedford Regency. I guess it's my fault for not believing some of the poor reviews. But now I am writing one of them. The photos and descriptions of the hotel are misleading. The hotel entrance is drab and poorly lit. The lobby itself is an expanse of nothingness (if that's a word). The room we stayed in appears to be much larger in the photos than it actually is. I know that hotel photos tend to exaggerate but the photos on the page for the Bedford Regency go beyond a littel exaggeration. There were stains on the carpet and the sofa in the room. The shower and the bathroom sink drains had so filters.The bathroom sink area is so small that 2 people can't stand next to each other to brush their teeth. There is only a small closet for clothing and no set of drawers or even a table to lay out packing cubes. It was so difficult for my husband and I to coordinate getting out for the day. The only real positive was the staff who were always friendly and courteous. But if a friend asked me if they should stay at the Bedford Regency I would give them a resounding NO.
