Stayed for 3 nights. It is located right opposite the airport (and next to a motorway) but we hardly heard any air traffic noise whilst we were there and the road noise was only noticeable when you were outside. We used the hotel as a base so it was perfect for us. Lots of nice things to choose for breakfast and as we had great weather we sat out overlooking the pool to eat. The staff are all very helpful and friendly. We used the free shuttle bus every day. We also used the indoor pool in the evenings which was lovely. Although we didn't use it, the gym equipment looked good (compared to others we have seen in hotels) and there was also a steam room. Wifi was very good but you did need to be inside the building. We thought it was great value for what we paid.
Overall, we just had a pleasant stay in this hotel and I really wanted to give it 4 stars due to the friendly reception staff but the condition of the bedrooms really dont allow me to do this. The rooms are very bare and outdated with a very small television high up and hard bed that we had to request extra pillows for. The bar area, restaurant and lobby areas are all good, its just the bedrooms that really let it down.
I am staying in this hotel twice a year, but this year I booked my stay in October for stay in February. 10 days leater I moved my reservation only for one day and they charged my both stays. In my opinion it is not O.K. to charge to charge a room 4 or 5 months in advance, especially when You are only moving Your stay for only one day. This will be my last stay at this hotel.
We arrived on Christmas eve , when you arrive at the hotel you think oh dear , but then you walk through the door and you think wow its nice. I just want to say the receptionist was really nice she helped us out with finding a restaurant on Christmas eve. She phoned the restaurant straight away and booked us a table . The only thing wrong in the rooms we only had one electric socket which was difficult with charging phones, computers etc. Apart from that the rooms were comfortable and clean.
Just outside Verona, maybe 15min drive from the Arena, right on the highway. You can access it both from the highway itself or from the local streets. It has a private closed parking. The common areas look modern and upscale while the room is pretty basic and bare. There is an internal restaurant which looks stylish. While the wine was really great (had a local Custoza white wine) the food was pretty tasteless and flat. Breakfast is copious with lot's of choices. There is a beautiful patio with an outdoor swimming pool, long chairs, sun shades and tables. We will stay again here if visiting Verona in the future.
We booked in for the last week of August, on arrival we were quit disappointed with the location,it was a little to far from verona so it could be quite costly for taxis,on landing we phoned the hotel who promptly sent the hotels lovely mini bus to collect us,once in the hotel all our fears were subsided ,the staff were all immaculate, friendly and very helpful, the room was good, and the restaurant was excellent no complains at all, there was a free shuttle bus into the city four times a day but the last return was 7 pm so we got taxis back at around 25 euro
The hotel was old and smelled like it. It was pretty disgusting to walk into our room. There were old cigarette stain all over the carpet. It was 20 min out from Verona with nothing around it. The spa was nice and breakfast was fine - the outdoor pool was nice to sit next to.
Hotels in Verona are expensive in comparison even to Florence. Hotel Saccardi was recommended as a 4 star hotel near where my husband was to fly into late at night. They did offer a complimentary shuttle from the city to pick me up and the staff were super friendly and accommodating. But it definitely did not meet my usual expectations of a 4 star hotel. Its located in the middle of an industrial park, next to the highway but 2 minutes from the airport....outside pool has some highway noise but rooms quiet with windows closed. The lobby and hallways have a collective mix of antiques and mismatched decor some a bit on the tacky side. Boxes of expensive wine for sale in the restaurant, bar and deli. Unfortunately I'd never buy an Amarone here as it is not being properly stored in a climate controlled environment. Rooms are small but clean and basic with very dated furniture and not repaired scrapes on the walls. I did not have time to visit the spa but from other reviews it sounds as though it is the saving grace of the hotel. Parking seemed limited to me as it was full and overflowing when my husband arrived late, leaving him to park on the street. Maybe they are striving to be a 4 star hotel but they have a long way to go...rooms are 2 star...amenities 3 star and staff 4 star.
This 4 star hotel is not old but it is not new. It has very good two swimming pools (indoor & outdoor) and good two Saunas (dry & wet). Staff dealing with you in very nice way and mostly helpful. The rooms are clean and has good connection to each other suitable for family. There are two big free car parks and suitable resturant. However, you have to ask them for the electrical kettle other wise you will not find any one in the rooms!!!!!!!! Even though they will bring to you only the dirty ones (happened two times with me).
Don't let the location (close to the airport and next to a motorway) put you off, the noise disturbance is minimal even when sitting out relaxing by the pool. We were checking in at Reception having gone through immigration and picked up our hire car within an hour of the wheels of the plane touching down at the airport! If you make use of the really useful free courtesy bus to and from the city you don't have to worry about negotiating the very busy traffic or finding somewhere to park once you get there. The pool area is lovely for sitting and relaxing and there is an indoor pool, gym and spa for those that like that kind of thing. The staff are friendly and helpful (though English was a little limited at times). Breakfast is good and the restaurant produces high quality food (the menu del dia is especially good value at 20 euros). The a la carte is a little pricey and has quite a limited selection but is very good quality. The wine list also offers some very good wines at reasonable prices. Our room was a little on the small size but perfectly adequate for our 4 night stay. The location outside of the city makes it easy to travel around the area if you have a hire car. Overall would recommend this hotel for a visit to both the city and the surrounding area.
