Not sure why people complain about the location. It's by an industrial estate, but near a residential area and a 10-minute walk from the town centre (where there's a delicious pizzeria!). The shuttle to Verona is well organised. When arriving in Verona, our bus from Bergamo airport arrived slightly late, but I called and the shuttle driver waited for us. The room was fine. Nothing luxurious, but very nice. The service was very good. The breakfast was varied. The best thing about the hotel was the spa and pool. I had the pool all to myself and loved every minute of it. I also enjoyed the spa facilities, especially the multisensorial showers. I'd highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for some relaxation while visiting Verona.
industrial Zone near village, barley reachable without car. Inside very nice furnished and elegant with garden and outdoor pool and spa area and restaurant with pool view. Breakfast was ok , dinner menue not so nice. in totaly not convinced about food quality. Spa area new but without spa feeling as very dark and overcrowded (saturday). Children playing in the spa pool, not enough beds for recreation, no spa coats etc. in the room but to hire for fee.
Ok hotel and facilities but terrible service considering 4* rating. Dinner service terrible. Waitress in trainers, bread delivered with mains, no salt and pepper or condiments offered, no wines by glass on the list, waiter opened random bottles for us without price advise. Dessert offered 45 minutes after finishing mains so decided to leave. Breakfast disaster, shown to the table where paper napkins and cutlery were pretty much thrown on (no need for perfection but simply placed cutlery and napkins in ok position would make a difference). When moved the paper napkin there were stains on table cloth and scrammbled egg left overs from previous guest! Wanted to see duty manager on check out and have been told there is no manager on duty.
Despite appearances (the hotel is in an industrial estate, overlooking a motorway) the Saccardi is a really excellent hotel. The service at the reception desk in particular was very friendly, breakfast was delicious and our room was great. I loved the gym in the basement and we both used the spa in the late afternoons. The fact that there was a free shuttle bus from the hotel to either the station or the centre of Verona was a massive plus as we were able to explore the city as well as further afield to Lake Garda (via train) very easily. We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely return to the Hotel Saccardi & Spa the next time we are in the Veneto area.
When I arrived to this hotel I was really sceptic. I used G map navigation and it directed me to enter hotel front from highway. I was dissapoited because of it, as I had to pay highway toll to reach hotel. But later I discovered it has also other entrance, but there is not notice about it. Hotel was surprisingly very nice hotel. First hotel I used with welcome drink in launge. Room was really spaceous and with AC. Bed was very comfortable and bathroom was spaceous enough. Hotel was very good isolated, as I did not hear any traffic from highway at all. Another nice surprise was breakfast. Nice variety of food and great was they had opened terrace by the pool to enjoy breakfast. Staff was friendly and helpfull.
Very impressed by the hotel, despite its less than salubrious location. As others have commented the ground floor of the hotel, garden, pool and spa are a very pleasant surprise. Location neat to the airport, and access into Verona by shuttle bus, made this a really easy holiday. The restaurant also good. Only downside would be the bedrooms which are very basic.
Beautiful hotel, kind and helpfull personel, nice swimming pool, the breakfast is delicious. The shuttle bus is perfect and well organized. With this bus you can visit Verona and Venice and it brings you to the airport.
Lovely decoration throughout hotel, bar was equip with lots of products to buy. Lovely idea of a complimentary drink and snacks by the bar free of charge . Great location for visiting Verona bus provided but only 20 euros to travel by taxi.
We have just returned from Hotel Saccardi in Verona after booking a last second weekend getaway, the kids were away with the grandparents and so we looked for the opportunity to go somewhere where we could chillax, enjoy some warm weather and be able to have some alone quality time without the hassle of having being in the heart of tourist city. Verona wasn't a must go destination for us, but we are so glad we went, Verona is a beautiful city with amazing scenery and people. As for Hotel Saccardi it ticked all the boxes we needed, the hotel is only 5mins from the airport and the hotel offers free transfers, just call them when you arrive at the airport and they are there in minutes. Also, the flight time from Gatwick is about 1hr 30mins (bonus). The hotel staff were amazing from the moment we checked in and nothing was too much trouble. As for relaxing, we couldn't have asked for more, the pool was brilliant and never too busy that you had to worry about not getting a lounger. The spa facilities which were located underground and they looked amazing, including the indoor pool, jacuzzi and sauna's, but because the weather was extremely hot (38deg C) when we were there we only stayed top side and used the outdoor pool. We stayed for 3 days/2nights and used every minute we had to enjoy the peace and quiet the hotel offered, mindful the hotel is next to the airport but having the noise of flights landing/taking off during the day did not detract from the comfort of the hotel facilities. Food and drink were easily available, we ate 1 night in the hotel restaurant and 1 night in Verona. The hotel restaurant was quiet the night we ate, but the service was 5* and the waiters couldn't do enough to keep us happy. All staff spoke very good English which was surprising as we were the only English couple staying with many other nationalities present. We had a standard double room which was very clean, but basic, the offer we got through BA didn't allow for us to have the next level up, but by all accounts, the suites looked spacious and comfortable, so next time we will go for that "yes there will be a next time" !! On our last night, we got a little adventurous and took the opportunity to use the free transfer service the hotels offers to take us to the heart of the city. We had a lovely meal in the main piazza next to the coliseum, but it was so hot in the evening it made for an uncomfortable experience. Taxi back to the hotel is around 20'ish € so again not bad. In summary, we had a brilliant experience and will look to book the same hotel in the very near future. Thank you to all at Hotel Saccardi :-)
On the first sight we were a little bit scared because the hotel from outside is nothing special,in the middle of agricultural/industrial zone and directly by the highway and airport. But as we entered the hotel we started to be positively surprised.Staff at the reception welcomed us very warmly, smiling, asking how was a trip and check-in was realy fast.We got welcome drink - wine for free in the bar (connected with a shop for public). The room has a bit basic equipment but enough for us. Bed was fomfortable.TV even very small had many satelite channels. In the minibar were 2 bottles of water for free.Basic cosmetics in the bathroom, a bit small shower but ok.Everything very clean.Towels changed every day.Breakfast was perfect.Fresh done coffee, cappuchino, latte etc.Good choice of salty and sweet food in a buffet style.Everything was tasty and often refilled. You can choose if to eat by pool or inside. We still had a feeling that the staff came from some good 5*hotel to help. They were fast, always smiling and greating and offering help. Unfortunately we had no chance to visit spa as we had a lot of things on our schedule. There is a hotel bus going 3x a day to the city centre free of charge(it takes ca 15 minutes) on enquiry they took some guests also to railway station). You must prebook it as many guests are interrested in.They dropped us directly by Arena and in 3-4 hours you have plenty of time to visit main highlights of the city center and buy some souveniers. In case you want to visit Lake Garda,it is very close on the highway for example for 90 cents to Peschiera(ca 20 km, very nice small historical city with port and great restaurants) or Sirmione (you must prepare yourself for tens of minutes looking for free payed parking place, thousands of tourist, fortress for 5 Eur with nice view on the lake, warm natural smelly springs, small pedicure fishes on a very gliding stones, the biggest icecream you have seen etc). The hotel has free of charge parking. Some people had a problem that they hear a noise from the highway by external swimming pool but we had no problem with that.Inside it was very quiet and even we had a room directly with a view on starting and landing planes we couldn hear almost anything as the isolation was very good. We were there very satisfied as it has perfect ratio of price and quality of service.Looking a hotel for a short stay in Verona and surrounding I would return.
