Absolutely terrible hotel, worst I have ever attempted to stay and I travel the world frequently. Staff were rude, rooms were tiny, so small you could barely get a suitcase in along side yourself. I requested a larger room and I was greeted by "well you are staying alone so why do you need a bigger room". Soo bad a didn't even stay, even do I couldn't get a refund I booked in at the Hotel Expo which is much better for the same price.
Maybe in summer and after having drunk a bottle of Italian wine... Seriously, it’s a rather uninviting wellness hotel! Minimum comfort, overheated rooms, thin and flimsy towels, loud cleaning personnel, tiny TV, sink was clogged, telephone didn’t work and a location out in the bush, near the airport of Verona... Certainly not my first choice! It’s relatively cheap but it’s not worth a penny more...
In September we took a European trip traveling to 4 countries. This was by far the worst hotel of our visit. In fact, it was the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. At our first room we went to open the window only to have it fall in as the upper hinge was not attached. We decided to pull the curtains since all we were looking at was an industrial park and when we did so there were dozens of green bugs about the size of my pinky fingernail across the curtain. We immediately removed our suitcases and went to the front desk. Our tour guide was in the lobby and upon seeing our return insisted we have a new room. It wasn't much better, as soon as we entered we noticed a bug by the remote, a bug and a rip on the sheet and more green bugs, I took a few pictures and quickly exited. We were given a third room. Not much brtter but at least we didn't see any bugs. Needless to say this was not an enjoyable visit. Luckily we only stayed one night. Dinner and breakfast were included but after seeing all the bugs we were bit afraid to eat. We did consider leaving but we appeared to be staying in an industrial park there was nowhere else to go. There is a large pool that they highlight on their website, but it was closed for some chemical emergency. Our departure was delayed the next morning as three people we were traveling with were stuck in the elevator. If this hotel had been in the United States it would have been condemned. Our seasoned tour guide said it was the worst hotel she had ever stayed at as well.
If you are looking for an upscale hotel within walking distance to the center of town, this hotel isn’t for you. If you are looking for comfortable accommodation to use as a base for day trips by car in the region, this hotel is for you. Pro: Close to exits to and from major highways, saving at least a hour a day of traffic. Close to two large supermarkets, one of which has many small restaurants. Walking distance to an excellent and moderately priced restaurant. Against: Aging , simple but ample breakfasts.
Stayed in this dump for a week because of a botched booking by our holiday company. Part of a coach party who had booked for Torbole, lake garda. Room not cleaned on arrival, loose wires and electric sockets taped to wall. Food in the restaurant was never hot ,tasted bland and same every morning and evening.. Hotel sited near derelict area of industrial area with strange smells and nothing close by except for a supermarket 400 metres away.. Staff at hotel were useless.
I booked this hotel for 4 days at the last minute as I was attending a show at the Fiere and most hotels were already booked. It was after the fact that I read a lot of bad reviews and thought I'd made a mistake...Well after visiting here I have to say though because of some design flaws it presents itself as less than a 4 star hotel...The bathroom itself is actually pretty well done but when the vanity is crumbling apart because of a poor surface selection it is a pity that it just drags the whole hotel down..gives you a feeling of very poor conditions...When in fact the looby area is very well done...the pool area is beautiful.. I read complaints about the breakfast buffet though it does pretty much remain the same everyday in the scope of hotel breakfast buffets it is really quite alright with a lot of food to choose from...sadly the dinner buffet is one I would flat out discourage anyone from choosing...after charging you 16 EU for a substandard offering they charge you even for water....???? Not to worry there is an EXCELLENT Italian restaurant walking distance @ 4 minutes left of the front entrance on the right side of the street called La Greca that is top notch and very reasonable.... Now that I know what it is all about I'd stay here again....Being as they seem to want to make this place nice....I assume they know they screwed up on the vanities and next visit I am hoping those nasty falling apart wood tops are replaced with some nice local marble....
I stayed here as part of a tour in September 2017 and it was a TERRIBLE experience. I don't know how the pictures on the hotel website were created because they could not be any less representative of the actual experience. I am both a regular, global business traveler, as well as a person who travels for pleasure and I my honest review is that I have never stayed at a more awful hotel. If you are considering booking here, please rethink your accommodations. It really is THAT BAD.
We booked in a hurry, turned up & were nearly knocked out by the smell of pig excrement. Yes, Not only is this hovel hurrendous inside, it manages to stink inside & out too! We were so disgusted that we spent 5 minutes in the room taking photos & left. The hotel DID NOT offer us any refund. SO BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE!!! We have travelled to hundreds of hotels around the world and never ever seen anything as bad as this place. Just thinking about it again makes me nauseas. Even bringing to the attention our disgust to Tiziana - The Hotel Manager made no difference. They offered us another room?!!? The place smelt so bad, what makes them think another room was going to be any better?!? When we wrote to complain, they then lied & said they offered us a "complimentary meal" in their restaurant......Yeah, that's exactly what I'd like to do, eat a meal in a place that smells of Pigs' s....t ! As we were in a rush I didn't get time to take photos of everything but I can only hope the photos we have uploaded show possible guests the horror of what awaits. In the room we had bags galore. Someone had kindly left the cardboard top of a beer packet on the bedside table, Take a look at my photo of the TV remote!, who would dare touch this? The icing on top the cake was the Jacuzzi bath, so gross, it looked like a lady of the night had been dancing in it in high heeled stilletos. I took the opportunity to stick a cotton bud up one of the washer jets for the Jacuzzi, it came out with hair & lord only knows what other grossness it had on it, but it was black & dark green!! The plug sockets are a death trap, the hallways are dark & dirty. Seriously, NEVER EVER BE TEMPTED TO BOOK THIS PLACE.
We stayed at this hotel as part of a group tour. The majority of us were extremely disappointed in the quality of this hotel. There were BUGS in the rooms. And signs of bugs in the beds too. I do not recommend this hotel
I am very disappointed with my last tour with Europa Tours - Lago di Garda & the Dolomites from 2nd to 9th September 2017. When we arrived at the Hotel Antares Sport, Beauty & Spa - 4 star – Villa Franca, Verona, and the keys of the rooms were distributed, we went to our allocated room finding that the room was already occupied. Luckily that the guests were not there! When I went to complain the receptionist, she told me that it is not possible that the room was occupied. Then one of her colleagues (I guess she was her supervisor) asked what is the matter and she told her about the room in question. Her colleague then told her that the room is occupied! The receptionist then just gave me another room without even excusing herself!! What good manners eh!! The room (we complained with the hotel and not with the tour leader as this is an issue to be resolved with the hotel, but nothing happened): - Jacuzzi not working - We wanted some extra clothes hangers as we had only 4 between 2 persons. The day after they brought us another 4!!!! So how can we use 8 hangers for 7 nights when I personally had 12 shirts! - Water flowing from underneath the bath - We cannot open the windows because if we do, green insects will come inside - No place to place the toilet paper and even anything inside the shower One of our friend’s room lacked a shower curtain. When we complained they said that they will take care of it, but nothing happened till the last day Food: It was stated even in the brochure, that there will be a choice of menu every day, but this was not the case. Just one type of food was served. The only time that there was some sort of choice is when we complained that most of the kids did not like what was offered and the day after we had a choice of hamburgers and turkey! When the hotel prepared some chicken nuggets and the headwaiter went around the tables offering to the kids and adults, he was sarcastic, not to mention that we were promised soup and one evening soap was not available. Other matters: Service with a smile does not exist in this hotel. On Thursday when it was raining instead of placing carpets to avoid flooding in certain areas of the hotel, towels were used!!!! On Friday during breakfast there was no toaster available for us to use as this was being used by a group of footballers. When we complained, we were told that we cannot use as this was exclusively to be used for the footballers only!!!!! What a shame eh!
