Booked this for an anniversary night away. On Orbitz, we booked an "ocean view" room. On arrival, we were told the "code" came through as generic (any room in the building) and we were assigned a "sunset view"... (parking lot). On arrival in the room, it was tidy, but carpet was older and was a little musty. Felt like they did their best with an older property with tired finishes. The bathroom was super cramped with old finishes and felt like a cave. Having spent $400 (incl taxes) for a single night, the overall dynamic in the room was way below expectation. So we walked around the property to see if we could find some redeeming value. Beach is almost nonexistent and on the back side of the island, so if you're expecting ocean, this is not that. The pool is very much in need of a complete refresh... couldn't tell if it was really clean and the deck area was not nice at all. At that point, we'd had it. Within 30 minutes, we were back at the desk checking out. After all, you only have so many anniversaries in life. Moments should be moments. The desk clerk was kind and apologetic. She printed our checkout receipt with the check in and check out shown and said she coded the "stay" so that Marriott would not collect the room rate from Orbitz. On return, we asked Orbitz to attempt a refund. But the property manager at Marriott refused to honor the desk clerk's promise, even when presented with the receipt. MUCH better options for the money on Hutchinson Island.
Great beach location, food all around is great! The room had a bunch of issues. The staff was awesome.

Did not have coffee maker or ironing board in the room. If not going to supply coffee maker they should have convenient coffee cart to buy coffee in the morning.

This property needs a major overhaul. There were leaks coming from light fixtures near the elevator, the balcony sliding door was near impossible to open and close in both rooms.. we had to switch because our original room was horrible. I do not complain and I rarely write reviews but for the price they charge for this hotel is severely misleading and overcharging. The pool area has no ramps and about 3 small sets of stairs to get to it from anywhere it was a nightmare with the stroller. Baja grill was WAY too expensive for what it was… $22 for a continental buffet breakfast that servers powdered eggs?!! I will not waste my money staying here again.
Rooms large, bed comfortable, staff very friendly
Photos on the website made it look a lot better than what it is. Had Higher expectations due to that. Staff was borderline rude.... Especially the lady on the phone when we called to ask for restaurant recommendations, wasn't helpful and just wanted to get off the phone. The guy at the beach basically told us off for putting out beach chairs 10inches off from where we were supposed to put them. Overall I found that the staff was miserable and not pleasing to their hotel guests. I wouldn't go back.
The property could defiantly use some upgrades, especially for the fact it is listed as a 4-star. It was the worst 4-star I have ever stayed in. The staff was helpful, but they seem to be very short staffed. In all fairness, I understand we are still in a pandemic, so some of the services were discontinued, but for the cost and being that it's a 4-star hotel we expected more.
Terrible resirt
Stayed in the Sandpiper Tower which was nice as it was right on the beach. Hotel pool is a bit small and dated but worked. Hotel seemed short staffed the whole time. They were out of beach/pool towels for a whole day. But we loved the area and the beach.Great surf.
