Had a great experience at the hotel even though we only stayed one night. The town of Mestre was suprisingly very cool, highly recommend seeing the downtown part. Its just a short walk from the hotel. It was super super easy to get into Venice. The bus is literally across the street, and then drops you off in front of the hotel (felt very safe). The staff was incredible helpful in recommending where to go and what to see, gave us a map of venice and told us their personal favorites. The only thing negative about this hotel was the rooms, the shower curtain was covered in mold (10$ fix) and the room smelled like smoke even though its a non-smoking hotel (air freshener 5$).Air conditioner worked great and there was free wi-fi which was awesome. If they fixed those couple of easy things it'd be even better.

We got booked in tito then were told we need to go to another companion hotel. It took us forever to find the other place since we had no gps. This place was ok for the cost. Parking was free which was a major plus.

If you plan to arrive in Venice by car the location of this hotel is perfect. There is bus stop right outside the hotel that will take you to and from Venice. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The breakfast is average.

Simple, but nice and clean hotel on a main street. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Location is good if you want to avoid downtown Venice, since this hotel is in Mestre, which is easy access from the main train station. Bus stop outside the door of the hotel to Mestre bus center, then easy 20 minute ride by public bus to Venice. Breakfast a bit sparce. Still a great value for the price, compared to hotels in Venice.

The staff were friendly, the buses are outside your door and it's only about 10 minutes to Venezia by bus. The staff will be only too happy to help with only enquires you have. Parking is available and breakfast is provided.

We recently stayed in this hotel for four nights with our kids and had a very pleasant experience. This is a small, family owned hotel in the heart of Mestre, a city in close proximity to Venice. The location is excellent and very close to all bus and train services to Venice. In fact, the bus service to & from Venice is just across the street and very convenient (#7 Service). Train station is about a five minute walk from the hotel. The rooms were relatively spacious and clean (including the bathrooms)and the small staff was very helpful. [...], the owner and manager was very friendly and helpful in answering our questions and advising on our travel plans and local attractions and services. The hotel also provides free basic breakfast of coffee/cappuccino, croissants and orange juice. Overall, we enjoyed staying at this hotel and highly recommend this relatively inexpensive hotel for couples and families who are visiting Venice for the first time.

Nice clean basic room with very helpful staff. Bus across the street goes right to old Venice in 20 minutes for 1.6 Euros. We were going on a cruise and went a day early to see Venice - this worked out well.

The hotel was great and very clean. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. The only thing that would've made it more enjoyable would be a slightly different breakfast choice a few days. Other than that, it was very enjoyable. The walls are thin, but I think if we had been on the 2nd or 3rd floor that we would've been happier. It was great on floor one in that we didn't have to climb the stairs, but we had kids next door that were very loud in the morning. That's just kids though! Very happy with this choice and would recommend it highly!!

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The management were really friendly and helpful. The location is probably it's best feature - while it is outside of Venice, it's much cheaper than staying in the city, it's only a couple minutes' walk from the station (which means the area is a lot safer/nicer), and there's a quick, convenient bus that takes you straight into Venice just across the street. The room was clean and big, with a comfortably sized bathroom, and the breakfast was small but nice (croissant, cappuccino, OJ, etc.). I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to save money who doesn't mind staying on the mainland. The drawbacks: no really close restaurants and no internet. But I found some good places for both within walking distance.

A real money saver for Venice. Hop on the bus at the airport for 1.5 Euro and ride to the train station then two block walk to hotel. Bus to Venice takes ten minutes and you can buy tickets at the coffee bar two doors away from hotel. Return bus from Venice until midnight. Hotel staff friendly and helpful. English no problem.

The Da Tito Hotel was clean, and it was just what I was looking for - the price and location were great! The staff is very friendly and helpful. We had a ground floor room, but if you get an upstairs room, be prepared - no elevator. Good restaurants and ATM nearby. Easy 5 minute walk to/from the main bus station for rides to and from Marco Polo Venice Airport (about 3 Euro per person). The local bus pickup to Venice (island) is about 30 meters from the hotel front door. Tickets for the bus to Venice can be purchased at a store 20 meters away. The bus ride to Venice is about 15 minutes and costs about 2 Euro for a roundtrip. Overall, if you're looking for an economical, clean hotel with a friendly staff, convienent to Venice, then this is a good choice. A continental breakfast is included. Nothing special, but good coffee and espresso - great to start the day!

When I made my reservations I "specifically" asked for two things; Air conditioning and to be close to San Marco Square. Well, this hotel offered neither. The hotel was far from the center of Venice. My children and I had to take the bus to Venice. The problem is that when you travel with children they get tired and want to rest. The distance made this almost impossible. Moreover, the hotel was a few blocks away from the train station. The same train station that "everyone" warned us against. They said "Do not go near the train station when it gets dark"... and where was our hotel?? this seriously changed everything. We had to make sure to be home before dark. Overall I was very disappointed and would not stay there again.

This is a great budget hotel for visiting Venice. It is located on the mainland but is a 15 minute bus ride to the heart of Venice. The neighborhood is quiet and safe with several options for public transportation. In fact, there is a bus stop across the street from the hotel that goes to Venice almost every 10 minutes. Just a short walk from the hotel is the heart of the town with restaurants and shopping that is much cheaper than Venice City, but has a less touristy feel which is great. The only complaint we had was the receptionist during the day. She was very vague in giving directions and providing any recommendations for things to visit in Venice. She also couldn't multitask and would ignore us if she was in the middle of something. The night staff was a very friendly gentleman that went above and beyond for us. We couldn't figure out how to get from Venice City to the port for our cruise and he let us use the hotel computer and even called his daughter to get more information. Too bad he wasn't there during the day.

The staff and owner are very polite and helpful. The double bed is two twins pushed together but very comfortable. The room seemed clean. Breakfast was small and prepackaged. The shower is etremely small.

The location was great with bus stop across the road. Breakfast was good (for European breakfast). Staff spoke English. The bathroom was large; no shower curtain around tub. Sheets were clean, but the bedspread and blanket were scary. Blackout shades on windows were wonderful. Free parking at hotel.

Overall the trip went well. The staff is very polite and helpful, with excellent English. I had difficulty finding the hotel. The bus is the ECTV #7 to and from Venezia. I did select the hotel on the basis of their advertisement that wifi is available and free, but to my great disappointment it is neither. Once you figure out where you are at the hotel, getting to and from Venezia is very convenient and easy, a good way to save money on lodging. A week-long ECTV bus pass for 50 Euro will allow you to take the bus to and from the hotel each day, as well as all the major water buses on the island.

I stayed at Hotel da Tito for four days for an academic conference in Venice. The location was extremely convenient to Venice -- the bus stops about 1/4 block away. Getting there initially, I rode the 15 to Mestre station and walked, which took about 10 minutes. Apparently the 9 will take you to the stop by the hotel from the station. Even that walk wasn't particularly excessive though, and compared to what some of my friends had to do to get to their hotels inside Venice. My hotel actually ended up being easier for me to get to from Venice than theirs; I bought the 72 hour transportation pass and just hopped the Vaporetto to the Plaza le Roma (where the buses stop) and the 7 bus to get back to the hotel each night. Checking in, I was greeted by friendly staff, although one clerk's English was limited but not overly so(this limit only came up when I was trying to ask about internet cafes in the area - "email" finally did the trick). The room startled me a little bit with how small it was, but I'm given to understand that this is pretty frequent in Europe. If you want to stay in the hotel room for half the day, this may not be your hotel, but if you actually want to go out and see Venice, it's great. The room was clean and made up fresh each day. The shower needed to run about 1 minute to warm up, but then was hot and had an adjustable height detachable showerhead. The hotel also provided a small breakfast of croissant, biscuit, packaged toast, OJ and espresso drinks made to order. It was exactly what I needed to get going in the morning and into Venice. This hotel was excellent for my needs and budget; easy to get to everything inside Venice and easy to get home. They were helpful with restaurant suggestions, directions, and advising me about the costs of my Sunday morning Taxi.

This is a friendly hotel. They speak English well and will advise you on getting into Venice quickly. This is a very good location if you are travelling to Venice by car - you can park at this hotel for no additional charge. Then you just walk out the door and jump on a public bus, and in 10-15 minutes you are in Venice. The room was smallish but just enough for 4. This was fine since we weren't spending much time in the room. It was clean and the a/c worked well. We arrived on a Sunday evening and a lot of restaurants were closed, but the manager told us where to find a restaurant (walking) and that worked out fine. Staying in Mestre is an excellent way to trim quite a few dollars off the cost of visiting Venice.

It was a nice experience
