Hotel Aurora3.0 out of 5.0

The hotel had a friendly crew, reasonable price, nice and clean rooms. The breakfast was good but had alitle few options. The hotel is close (250 m) to the metro that can take you to Venice in 20 min.
This is a perfect simple hotel for seeing Venice w/o the rip off of Venice hotels. Billed as a 3 star it offers much better value than many 5 stars. Set back from the road, Aurora is 50M away from the pedestrianized centre of Mestre with restaurants, cafes and shops. It is 250M from the excellent tram to venice (E1.50) and the bus to venice and Mestre rail station. You can dine in Venice and still catch a gelato in Mestre. The hotel itself a modernish building which is functional rather than pretty but it is welcoming, air conditioned and comfortable. The rooms are a decent size, spotless and good beds. The bathrooms are spotless if a little old fashioned. Mini bar fridge. Excellent continental breakfast with unlimited fresh expresso etc and a good selection of hams, cheese, bakery, cereal, yoghurt, juice etc. Wifi works but not very strong. Last but not least, lovely staff/owner. Could not have been politer or kinder. Second visit and will be our next one.
The location is really good: right in the center of Mestre. The room is ok, as I noticed that the walls have all sorts of marks. The breakfast is good, with fruits, pastry, cereal and so on, and the price is included.
Nice hotel with friendly athmospere. Nice and clean room with renovated bathroom. Ok breakfast, not a lot of choice. Very close to the city centre of Mestre with shops and restaurants. 2 minute walk to bus and tram connections to Venice. From there about 20 min to Venice.
the room was cleaned every day! Beds were made. The first room had a small shower (for me), for the wife it was ok ;-) we received an other room the next day. They moved our bags for us. Great service during our stay. They did everything possible to make our stay great, and it was great. Reception was open 24/7. bus, tram about 250 mtr further to Venitie. 500 mtr. to bus stop to airport.
I was never there. I booked a room for a colleague on booking.com. Via email they asked me the reason of the trip. It was business, so they gave him one of the most peaceful rooms in the hotel (I ignore if all the rooms are that good). My colleague told me they were extremely kind, professional (via email and on the phone), and that the breakfast was more than good. It is not far from the railway station so to get there even in taxy from the station is not expensive. All in all one of the best hotel I have found in the area where it is very easy to land in bad places. It was clean and at extremely competitive rates. My colleague had no reason to lie to me. Maybe not the suitable place for a romantic trip. For business is perfect.
My wife and I stayed at this hotel as an alternative to the much more expensive alternatives in Venice. It is a bit old, but impeccably clean and well run by a family, who also lives there, so you get that nice family touch feeling over it. It is a short walk to the tram stop, which takes you to Venice in about 20 mins for 1,50 euro
We came for just the weekend. We'd actually booked hotel centrale but got transferred to this hotel for reasons I still don't know. It's ok for just getting your head down, the shower head holder was broken and just left on the side. The continental breakfast was everything you'd expect, fresh fruit, juices, cereals, sweet treats, ham cheese etc. Staff were friendly. Great if you're looking for a cheap place to stay. Close to the bus/tram station, takes you straight to Venice.
I stayed at Aurora for 3 nights. It's a hotel near the historic centre of Mestre. There are buses to take you from the Train Station and leave you just outside the Hotel. Also there are nearby bus and trams to take you to Venezia. Near the Hotel there are many nice restaurants, cafes and supermarkets. The room was clean although the bathroom had a broken mirror and shower head which didn't work properly. Some furniture also were rather worn out. In the night, a couple from a nearby room just talked and I could hear what they were saying. So I guess, it's a matter of insulation. However, I didn't have sleep problems. Thankfully, the room was quite warm and generally cosy. The buffet was really good with everything you could ask for a proper breakfast. Also, the personnel was polite and helpful. Wi-Fi was free and worked without problems. Overall, a decent accommodation.
Easy to find (once you know your bearings). From mestre railway station if you have your back to mcdonalds restaurant you walk across the road taking the road signed via piave. It is about a 20 minute walk just go straight up until you come to a roundabout and turn right down past a small park area. You will eventually come to the hotel set back from the road near the bus stop on the left hand side of the road. Staff were welcoming and friendly. The room was small but had a private bathroom with everything you need including toiletries and towels. The rooms were cleaned everyday and breakfast had something for everyone. About a 10 minute walk taking a left out of the hotel brought you to the bus and tram station where you could get tickets to various places including venice. I would definitely recommend the travel card as it allows you to use the bus tram and water bus unlimited for the amount of days you purchase. A great way to get around if on a budget. Our check out was 11am but our flights were not til the evening and the hotel very kindly allowed us to store our luggage so that we did not have to carry it around on our last tour of mestre. If coming to Italy in that area would stay again. Thank you to all the staff at the hotel 😀
