We stayed at this hotel only for one night at the end of our two-week travel in Italy. We were looking for a property with parking (we had a rental car and it seemed almost impossible to find a reasonable place with parking in Venice). The folks at the reception were very nice, helpful and efficient. There was an elavator (important if you have heavy suitcases like we did). The hotel most certainly will benefit from the renovation and furniture update in the rooms. That said, here's what's going for it: it's close to the airport (about 10 min drive) which was a huge plus for us because of an early flight; there's a bus stop right outside of the hotel where one can catch a bus, which, we understand, will take you to Venice in 20 min or so; the room was ok, nothing to write home about, clean, the furniture was outdated and the bathroom was small, the amenities were scarce...I guess you get what you're paying for and the price was right for us and met our needs. I believe there's a couple of restaurants in the vicinity and some pastry shops. There's a Lidle on the way to the airport, not within walking distance to the hotel though. Anyway, it seems that the hotel will be good for budget travellers.
First of all, this is not a luxury hotel and it doesn't even have an inkling of an "italian" vibe, but it was a great stay nonetheless. The staff were super nice and accommodating - they allowed us to check in 2 hours early, sent immediate help when we couldn't figure out how to unlock the safe, sent extra pillows for us, helped with directions and recommendations. Everyone was really helpful. The room was basic and simple, but has everything you need! The bed was soooo comfortable and the pillows were so good I wish I could have brought them home! Also, it was really quiet and peaceful at night time. Breakfast was simple, but delicious and efficient! Cereal, toast and jam, croissants, coffee cake, fruit, eggs, etc. Mestre is a charming little city in itself, and this hotel is a super convenient location from which to visit Venice. You literally walk 5 mins to the bus/tram stop and then it's like a 20 minute ride and the transport runs 24 hours. The area feels very safe and has a local vibe to it.
We booked this hotel in the first week of September....I would definitely recommend this hotel....very well maintained hotel with a good staff(specially lady in the counter)breakfast was definitely satisfactory....it's just 15mins to Venice if you take the bus from mestre central which is just 5mins walk from the hotel...you can also take a bus directly to Marco Polo airport....overall very good experience and safe surroundings too...I would definitely book this hotel again
The hotel had a friendly crew, reasonable price, nice and clean rooms. The breakfast was good but had alitle few options. The hotel is close (250 m) to the metro that can take you to Venice in 20 min.
This is a perfect simple hotel for seeing Venice w/o the rip off of Venice hotels. Billed as a 3 star it offers much better value than many 5 stars. Set back from the road, Aurora is 50M away from the pedestrianized centre of Mestre with restaurants, cafes and shops. It is 250M from the excellent tram to venice (E1.50) and the bus to venice and Mestre rail station. You can dine in Venice and still catch a gelato in Mestre. The hotel itself a modernish building which is functional rather than pretty but it is welcoming, air conditioned and comfortable. The rooms are a decent size, spotless and good beds. The bathrooms are spotless if a little old fashioned. Mini bar fridge. Excellent continental breakfast with unlimited fresh expresso etc and a good selection of hams, cheese, bakery, cereal, yoghurt, juice etc. Wifi works but not very strong. Last but not least, lovely staff/owner. Could not have been politer or kinder. Second visit and will be our next one.
The location is really good: right in the center of Mestre. The room is ok, as I noticed that the walls have all sorts of marks. The breakfast is good, with fruits, pastry, cereal and so on, and the price is included.
Nice hotel with friendly athmospere. Nice and clean room with renovated bathroom. Ok breakfast, not a lot of choice. Very close to the city centre of Mestre with shops and restaurants. 2 minute walk to bus and tram connections to Venice. From there about 20 min to Venice.
the room was cleaned every day! Beds were made. The first room had a small shower (for me), for the wife it was ok ;-) we received an other room the next day. They moved our bags for us. Great service during our stay. They did everything possible to make our stay great, and it was great. Reception was open 24/7. bus, tram about 250 mtr further to Venitie. 500 mtr. to bus stop to airport.
I was never there. I booked a room for a colleague on booking.com. Via email they asked me the reason of the trip. It was business, so they gave him one of the most peaceful rooms in the hotel (I ignore if all the rooms are that good). My colleague told me they were extremely kind, professional (via email and on the phone), and that the breakfast was more than good. It is not far from the railway station so to get there even in taxy from the station is not expensive. All in all one of the best hotel I have found in the area where it is very easy to land in bad places. It was clean and at extremely competitive rates. My colleague had no reason to lie to me. Maybe not the suitable place for a romantic trip. For business is perfect.
My wife and I stayed at this hotel as an alternative to the much more expensive alternatives in Venice. It is a bit old, but impeccably clean and well run by a family, who also lives there, so you get that nice family touch feeling over it. It is a short walk to the tram stop, which takes you to Venice in about 20 mins for 1,50 euro
