The hotel is well located, great choice if you want to stay close to Venice and pay a good price . We stayed there for a week. The breakfast was nice but a bit poor . Staff was not so friendly . The decoration in the room it looks old, room was very good clean , but it was very cold and we didn 't had any duvet just a sheet . Anyway for the price that we booked the room I will said its fine .
I've stayed twice in March in there. The first room was disgusting, very unclean, with sticky floor and table, smelly wardrobe and noisy aircon. The second time was a lot better, the room was lot cleaner with quiet aircon. So it's a lottery. It's ok for one night stay or for airport connection.
The room was ok but the beds incredible small although the bedding was clean. Signs of damp and loose plaster everywhere, bathroom hallways etc. Breakfast was adequate. no restaurant in the hotel but found a small pizza kebab/pizza place just down the road which was very tasty! Advertises Luggage storage but found out that this means you can leave your case in the lobby all day!
Traffic noise was loud until 1am.No retstaurant in the area.Recetionist was not friendly.Amenities like soap was very meager,I will not return to this place! The bed was lumpy and the linens were so cheap and smelly.
The cleaner, the towels not changed, what we had put on the floor more than adequate, was neatly hung and they were wet and dirty. also we got no more SOAP and shampoo. We had to go complain at the reception every evening, and then we got clean towels and SOAP. And there were almost no clothes hangers. The breakfast was fine, hotel the location quiet. Hotel is clean. About 20 min by bus 19 to Venice, ticket 3 euro return ticket. Staff is nice too, falls on that there are many staff at Bangladesh work there, but they are nice.
Ok here we go. When we arrived the man on duty was very helpful, the room was very dated and not especially clean but for the price it was ok. The big problem with this place is the absolute rip off when it comes to booking a taxi to the airport. I asked for a taxi. They said ok but a taxi charges 25 euro for the 4km trip. We thought that was well over priced and came to the conclusion that the taxi company must be making a fortune. The reception man made a phone call ( to a friend or fellow worker as it turned out). So next morning we go downstairs to get the taxi... Surprisingly there was no taxi but, there was a man by the name of Bernard Valerio who as luck would have it was a 'private taxi' driver. The reception guy did not even attempt to call a regular taxi company. Bernard did not have a taxi licence - he did have a nice people mover van though. No wonder at 25 Euros per 4km trip.. Like everyone else, I don't mind paying for something I ask for but when I ask for a public taxi and end up with a supposedly private limousine ( and the rip off price that goes with it I am extremely disappointed at the degree of lies and deceit that Hotel Altieri went to, to get their grubby hands on some extra cash. My advice to fellow travellers. Don't believe the lies the staff tell you about taxies to the airport. Book it yourselves. THEY ARE ABSOLUTE LIARS ANDARE NOT TO BE TRUSTED. When we arrived at the hotel everything seemed perfectly fine. The guy at the reception was friendly and nice. The room was old, the shower head in the bathroom was broken, there was only sheets on the bed (no blanket) and there was 2 simple beds put next to each other. But that was not what we got disappointed. When we arrived at the airport in Venice we bought bus tickets (round trips from/to the airport) and we left them on the table in the room. After 2 days we had to leave and looked for the tickets everywhere but couldn't find them ! 2 rooms beside my husband and I were my brother and his girlfriend : they couldn't find their cards either ! I went to the reception and talked to a guy about it : his behavior was terrible ! He didn't care at all, told us to buy another ticket because the cleaning staff "probably" took our tickets, he was looking at his feet and left in the middle of the conversation, never apologized and spoke a very little English which made it difficult to communicate ! Anyway, the situation is fine, so is the breakfast.
We stayed one night in this hotel on route to Bologna. The staff were helpful and friendly and the room was clean. Far better than we had expected given other reviews. However, it was so cold all night that we hardly slept a wink. Even with the air-con turned to warm it was freezing cold. There is no duvet on the bed and even with the extra blanket provided we could not heat up. Breakfast was average.
The room is decent with standard facilities. Wifi did not reach my room in second floor. Hard to follow rules and substandard hospitality toward guests. However, the breakfast was okay. Near to airport as well as near to vus access to venice and tram to Mestre station.
We where greeted with disgusting attitude, was so roughly the receptionist, he wanted to charge us more money then the actual price on the reservation, in the room was cold, dirty curtains dirty furniture. Staff attitude was very ugly, rude, harsh and very arrogant. Please avoid this hotel.
