Hotel itself - 4/5. Great location within the city walls, but near enough to the train station that we didn't have to lug our bags through the city centre. The hotel is on the main street leading to the main square and everything was a ten minute walk away at most. The staff on the front desk were friendly and welcoming. The breakfast buffet was fantastic. Avignon is not a cheap city to eat in and it saved us a lot of money and time filling up every morning before setting out. Room - 3/5. The room was quiet and a good enough size but unfortunately the air conditioning was simply not powerful enough and the room (in 35 degree August) always felt too warm. I killed two mosquitos that I could see during our stay but myself and my partner would often wake up with fresh bite marks. If the air-con worked properly they would have stayed out of the bedroom.
This hotel has a great location and is really central to main Avignon attractions. The staff could not be more professional, friendly and helpful at all times. Surprising quiet for the central location and with air conditioned rooms. bedroom was large but could do with an update and we felt it was a little grubby. Overall a pleasant stay.
Lovely hotel near rail station and just a short walk to to main attractions and plenty of resturaunts. Rooms cool and comfortable, staff polite and friendly. Breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice
Very good location, close to everything.. rooms big enough and very clean and quiet. Includes breakfast the staff was very friendly.. had a problem with my car they took care of it right away, highly recommended..
This is an excellent location, close to Avignon Centre (train) and right in the city. The desk staff are exceptionally pleasant and helpful and the breakfast staff as well. The lobby is cool and comfortable, but in our experience, the rooms are quite warm with ineffective fan/air conditioning. It was truly warm when we were there, but you cannot even feel the breeze of the a/c coming into the room through the vent. The rooms, again in our experience only, look nothing like those in the photos on the site. Ours was quite tiny with barely walking room around the bed and though this wasn't a problem for us, I mention it as the photos show a much larger space. The lobby seems to have been renovated or redone, but the rooms need some substantial updating - paint is nicked/peeling, pillows/sheets low quality, etc. This is a solid low-cost hotel option and we were barely in the room for perhaps 30 minutes other than sleeping, but I wouldn't choose it for a stay where I wanted a comfortable room to return to nightly.
This hotel is a great find for a central location in a city where many reasonably priced hotels are situated much farther away. tourist attractions, shopping areas and good eats and parking are all easy to find.
This hotel is in a great location, just inside the old city walls. It's a short walk to the main train station but a taxi ride to the TGV station. Our room had been modernised and was clean and bright. Although we overlooked the busiest street ( which is mainly pedestrians) we didn't hear a thing in the room and slept very well. The arts festival was on during our visit. I wish I had been aware of that because it's mayhem, best to avoid July if French theatre doesn't mean much to you! However we had a lovely visit and would recommend Hotel Bristol.
A lovely old building with refurbished rooms of a decent size. All facilities are available including restaurant and bar. There are lots of local eateries close by and we can recommend Tosta across the road for a cheap and nutritious snack. The hotel is only 200 mtrs from the Gare Central and a 20 euro taxi fare from Gare TGV. Once again we missed having tea-making facilities. We would recommend you ask for a non street front room because there was a lot of street noise in the early hours but this could have been because of the arts festival currently running - but it sounded like a street sweeper early each morning!
We stayed here during the festival and was rather disappointed by the hotel. It is well located with good access to the railway station and large underground car park close by. The bedroom however had poor air conditioning for a warm location (in July), the bathroom was full of flies and the shower was terrible. It is build in the bath, but with no shield whatsoever, so you're pretty much guaranteed to soak the bathroom floor. For the price paid, I'd expect a lot more.
This is a larger hotel in Avignon a quick walk to/from the train station. It is also across (ish) the street from the tourist information office where many day tours meet. The room was good sized and quite clean. It is also quiet at night even though it was facing the street. The air conditioning seemed to work okay as I visited during an especially warm time. The staff is friendly and helpful. During my stay a tour group was also staying here as during breakfast many of the tables were reserved with a placard with the name of the company. I was able to get a table though, the staff helps to seat you. The breakfast selections were wide and refilled quickly when running low.
