My two daughters & I spent 5 days & enjoyed every minute. Very clean, tasteful, spacious, comfortable rooms, well equipped kitchen in 1 bdrm, suite & convenient adjoining bdrm. Close to restaurants, across from the ocean, very friendly staff!
I stay at this facility for a night last week. I accidentally left behind a makeup bag full of new product. The approx. value $300 or more to replace. I was in the area for 3 more days after I left. I thought I forgot my bag at home which I discovered was not the case once home. I phoned and spoke with Russell at the front desk and they indeed had my make up kit. I asked why do they not email or text or phone the customer when items are left behind. He indicated that they don't do that. He said they would send me the item at my cost. My question to him was why can they not notify the customer something was left behind....all I got was excuses. He told me he would have the manager Gordy call me. This never happened. I just phoned and spoke with Gordy. He indicated that they feel no obligation to notify customers once they have left unless it is of "great value" ! We do not deal with the "lost and found". "We would have to hire 2 more people to deal with all the LOST items here" I indicated to him these are not LOST items....they were in a room with a $200+ charge and a name, address, phone number, email attached to them! It would take 1 minute to phone, text, or email a paying customer. He also asked me how many times I have stayed in this hotel in the past as if only regulars get better treatment. Well...my first and definitely last booking with them that's for sure. When one is paying $200+ $20 parking ...I think I have earned the right to decent treatment and respect of possessions and self. Customer service is what distinguishes businesses with integrity! This business is lacking in management philosophy that is congruent with good and kind practice!
I am a big fan of this place. The Ocean Promenade, just a few minutes from the border, was full on the weekend I stayed, which gives you some idea of its popularity. However, I found that my room was quiet though you will hear the ocean-side trains trundle through on occasion. These are working trains and a tourist attraction, but I thought they added to the charm. Given the hotel's size, it is not surprising the staff are friendly and get to know you. Rooms are interesting in that many have a double door entry, then there are two more doors leading to separate or what could be adjoining suites. This makes it attractive for families. The small restaurant beside the hotel was absolutely great for breakfast with solid choices and very competitive prices. Overall, there is no doubt this is the place to stay in White Rock or South Surrey, unless you want a faceless chain motel. The only downside for some would be the parking, which can be a bit difficult given the size of the stalls. (But I drove a Jeep Grand Cherokee and it worked ok, and I saw pickups also work it out.)
We had a great stay here in August, had a lovely balcony, if you can get one at the front you will have a better beach view so worth asking. Our room had two queen beds and a kitchen with hob, microwave and dishwasher no oven (prob would take to long for cleaners to have to clean). We found the whole hotel very clean. There is a small exercise room with running machine bikes and a weight bench. Also a laundry room with one washer and one dryer only 1.50 dollars a time. I would definitely stay here again. It's also very close to the American border however leave early for that one if your from anywhere other than Canada as it took us three hours to get through.
We have just spent 9 days at this hotel, and can throughly recommend it. The location is nice, right opposite the beach. We had a one bedroom apartment, as did our daughter and her family. The rooms are very well equipped and comfortable. Our room 110A was on the ground floor, and our balcony was on the side street, and we could just about see the sea. Our daughters room (210A) just above ours was better, as she had clear view of the sea. I think the rooms either at the front of the hotel or higher up on the side are probably better for the sea view. That said, we were perfectly satisfied with our room. We were there on holiday and to visit relatives living in White Rock, so for us this was the ideal base. It was great to have a kitchen, as we didn't always eat out. And the added bonus of a dishwasher... The rooms and public areas were very clean. It was very useful having an ironing board and iron in our rooms. Plenty of storage space in the rooms - probably could have done with a few more clothes hangers (or did I take too many clothes lol...) The staff were pleasant and helpful. Very secure underground parking for $20 per day, well worth it. My daughter made use of the small gym area - as well as running along the lovely seafront each morning. We would definately stay here again.
We really liked this hotel. It was clean, well equipped, and comfy. We needed a later check out and they were happy to accommodate us. The only problem we had was that we could only stay one night. We may go back just because.
Nice location right across the beach area. We didn't received the beach view room that was a bit of disappointment, but we didn't spent too much time in the room anyhow. The room was clean and modern, with large screen TV, nice fireplace, the beds were comfortable. I like the heated floor in the bathroom, that was nice to step into a warm floor. Towels are clean and fresh looking as well. The hotel have a little restaurant that serve breakfast, but we did pick up another place in town. The hotel offer a parking garage, in case you are arriving in the busy summer time were it may be hard to get parking on the street. Over all, I will recommend this hotel, they have nice restaurants for dinner within walking distance from the hotel.
Ask for ocean view apartments, corner preferable. Fantastic view. Big size. Clean, lots of amenities. Great location on the ocean. About a 1 km walk to wharf and lots of excellent restaurants. Highly recommend.
The rooms are clean and spacious. There was a balcony in front of our window that belonged to another room, so we had to keep our curtains closed just in case someone could see into our room. The hotel is in an excellent location, walking distance to restaurents and the pier. It was an advantage having everything near by as the hotel does not include breakfast. We thought it was very cheeky being charged to park the car in the hotel car park at $20 a night. The hotel is very close to the railway line, hence, you get woke early by the blow of the horn.
The hotel was across from the ocean! Had a 1 bedroom suite with a full kitchen & livingroom. Suite was very clean and well equipped. Balcony faced the ocean with great views. Just afew short blocks were numerous eating establishments, pubs as well as different shops and of course the pier. Staff were very courteous and helpful. We had a wonderful stay:)
