A couple of minutes walk to Plaza Major and free underground parking - just what we wanted. The hotel is showing its age, but it has character and is clean. Our room had a balcony overlooking the church opposite. Staff were cheerful and helpful. Standard Spanish breakfast. Good value for money. No complaints.

I was here for one night with my latest lady friend. The location is terrific, right in the old town centre around the corner from the Plaza Mayor. The hotel is clean and well staffed, although our bed was not as comfortable as we would have liked. The staff did not have great English, but they tried their best and at least they were apologetic about it. I would recommend this as a budget option for Valladolid. If you want something fancier, then you'll have to splash out some more cash, dear reader.

This hotel is not easy to find in the centre of Valladolid as it is in a pedestrian area. I had to ask locals several times how to get to it and finally drove close by driving in the pedestrian area. We were in a van driving from France to Portugal for Christmas and this was an ideal place to stop. The hotel from the outside is lovely matching the gorgeous architecture of the city. The reception staff were friendly and helpful finding an alternative place to park our van as it was too high to go in the normal secured parking. But after some phone calls the staff found a car park around the corner so it was secure for the night. This was important as the van was loaded with Christmas presents and luggage for two weeks in Portugal. The hotel was clean and due to its age had a character about it. We had a family room which they accommodated for five (two adults and three children 15, 13, and 11). After settling in we walked around the city and found places to eat locally throughout the city centre. A quiet night and up early to leave a sleepy Valladolid while we got on route to Portugal.

I only stayed here for one night but I really liked the decoration (specially the pictures on the walls and the vintage look), the view from the balcony (in the front bedrooms, as mine was unfortunately in the back of the hotel), the staff and the amazing place where it is situated. Valladolid is such a beautiful city and so is this hotel.

Nice hotel, staff helpful. Parking for motorcycles and cars underground. Pretty secure. Hard to find using gps as its in a pedestrian area. Next to a church in a courtyard place. Room was small but clean, and facilities were good. For a city center hotel its good value for money as an overnight stop.

Good central location. Parking underground so great for motorcyclists. Car park is just down the street and around the corner. Parking is shared with a shopping center but don't let that put you off, its safe and secure enough - gate key access only. Hotel is incredibly hard to find using sat nav as its on a pedestrian street with no vehicle access. So try to park up somewhere when sat nav says you have reached your destination, walk around and look for the church in a little courtyard square, its opposite that. Hotel staff were helpful, friendly and pleasant. Room was clean, a little small but for an overnight stop it was fine. There's a great bar just 20m down the street, and food places nearby. Great place for a stop over on route to Portugal.

Indeed, if this is a two star hotel, then definitely one of the best I've ever stayed in. Elegant, stylish, comfortable; what is more, very close to the Plaza Mayor, also a few steps from a big food store open until late at night and other amenities you might need in Valladolid. Definitely recommendable.

Stopped here for two nights in a party of four. Two rooms next to each other. Great price an location. The car park is a very short walk and is secure. The rooms are very clean and the reception is very helpful. The WiFi is free but is quite weak in the rooms so be prepared to go down to the reception for a better signal. All in all......we had a great two nights stay.

Hotel Roma doesn't really merit 4 stars but 3 would be unfair - it's really a 3½ star hotel! This time I stayed on my own, whereas the previous time, 5 years ago, I was travelling with my wife. On that occasion, everything about the hotel was better. The room was bigger, the staff seemed more friendly, there was more of a buzz about the place and the breakfasts were better. OK, they probably gave me a smaller room because I was alone this time but it was still a double and if I had ended up in that room with my wife, neither of us would have been happy. The breakfasts now are OK but nothing to write home about: breads, croissants, muffins, a couple of cereals, coffee, tea, fruit juice, sometimes yoghurt and that was pretty much it. The staff are still friendly but not overtly so - they open up after you speak to them whereas before you were welcomed and spoken to before you spoke to them. I'm sure the economic crisis in Spain has a lot to do with the change I noticed. However, in its favour are its great location (right in the centre of the city, very near the Plaza Mayor) and the price - it's now not a very expensive hotel. And it's clean. Hence my star rating. Rooms on the front of the hotel can be quite noisy late into the night at the weekends so if a quite night is what you want, get a room at the back.

The hotel is very well located, the staff is attentive, the rooms are clean and comfortable. My wife, my daughter (five years old) and I were very satisfied with the hotel. Every important place is very close (reachable by walking) to the hotel. Valladolid is a beautiful city, it has a lot of pretty places to know and if you have a good place to get after a long day of walking or to rest at the middle of the day is very important for a family with small kids. I really do recommend the hotel and of course the city.
