This hotel is in the centre of Valencia so is prefect for getting out and about whether on foot or using transport. Our room was on a busy street but this meant we had a great view from our balcony and the glazing had very good sound proofing. I'm a light sleeper so I take ear plugs everywhere and they do the trick. Our room was spacious with a comfy big bed and the shower was great plus free Rituals toiletries an added bonus. I must admit it would have been good to have a price list for the minibar rather than not having a clue. We had breakfast included in the price and it was nice with enough variety but it was a little frustrating that the hotel didn't have enough tables to cover the amount of rooms so often people (including us) were left hanging around waiting, which isn't what you want when you've a busy day sightseeing planned. It could do with expanding the restaurant area really. We did eat at the hotel in the evening and the food was great so I'd recommend trying it, certainly as good as local popular restaurants nearby that we tried. The bar had a nice chilled atmosphere too and cocktails were lovely. I'd say price wise they were on a par too. The hotel sorted with a taxi to the airport with no issues and I have to say having read other reviews I'm surprised that staff were rude as we didn't find that at all. I'd definitely stay here again and think it represents good value for money.
Hotel is well situated for access to all key sites. Including 10 min walk to metro so very easy for the airport. Room was fine - there can be some street noise but this was not excessive.Breakfast space is limited. Staff were not very friendly.
Never stayed in a hotel with such indifferent staff. Everything was too much trouble. No welcome greeting at reception or at breakfast. The staff seem to find the guests an inconvenience and although the hotel is in a great location, clean and adequate, the staff really need a lesson in customer service. Reported the mini fridge in the room was not working within a hour of arrival, three days later not a thing had been done about it. The in-room toiletries consisted of five tiny bottles of shampoo. The beds felt unstable, moved when sat on and creaked and wobbled when laid upon. All in all this hotel is just not good enough.
Very clean rooms and great location - 5 minute walk to Cathedral and plenty of cafes, bars, but that’s where it ends. All the staff are miserable. It’s like everything is too much trouble. And at breakfast they just barge into you. Check in was so unpleasant and at no point are you made to feel welcome in this hotel. That said we have found this a common problem throughout Valencia. Everyone seems most unhappy. No-one ever says thank you. No-one ever smiles. And they go out of their way not to speak any English. It’s most odd and most unpleasant. Be prepared for this if you are visiting the city. Hotel - this is a 3 star at best. Definitely not 4 star. Noisy - you hear everyone in the corridors, toilets flushing in other rooms, people dragging chairs across the floor in the rooms above you. And you get all the road noise. We were at the back and still it was noisy. Beds - if you suffer with any kind of back problems do NOT stay here. These are cheap Ikea style mattresses on a flat base with 6 plastic legs Every time you turn over the bed moves and makes noises as the legs move about. Thank god I am going home today as this is morning 3 and I can barely move I am in agony! Also there is a strange ledge above the bed so you can’t sit up without getting a concussion. TV - only CNN and BBC News for English speakers. Bathroom - good water pressure but there is nowhere to put anything down, except the floor. No shelf in the shower. No shower cap. No tissues. No soap to wash your hands. Smelly drains. Toilet roll is so thin you use half of it just for a wee. Extractor fan not working. Other room niggles - no kettle, no tissues, mini bar fridge not working and we were told no-one works at weekends so tough. Twin beds - we are a married couple and had asked for a double bed room. They couldn’t give us one. Breakfast - it’s really just bread, oranges, mini croissant and doughnuts. There is something purporting to be cheese and some dried up Iberian ham. If you want eggs or bacon you have to ask for it. We didn’t and didn’t see anyone else asking. The staff were so miserable there that we thought they would spit in the food if we asked. Dirty coffee cups, machine that only half fills your cup ... don’t waste your time or money here. Go out and get a coffee and a pastry in Granier or another little cafe/bakery. Much nicer and cheaper. Getting here - take metro 3 or 5 from the airport to Colon metro. Takes about 25 minutes. Then a 15 minute walk to the hotel. It’s flat so its easy. Note the airport is in zone D not B as the internet suggests. A single ticket will cost you c€9 each. Enjoy Valencia - it’s a beautiful city. 48 hours and you can see/do most things. Just stay somewhere else if you want 4 stars and a peaceful night’s sleep.
All I can say is from arrival to departure what a fabulous hotel . All staff are so friendly and helpful . Hotel itself is divine . Room perfect ( although I do feel beds should not be near the door as you see the light from the hall ways all night ) but can’t fault I’m any real way . Breakfast buffet out of this world . Location is perfect I will be back
Good hotel in great location. Reception staff helpful. Breakfast overpriced at 12 Euros. The Clandestino Bar is a nice place for a night cap but it's expensive and there is no drinks menu or price list - we asked. The bartenders can make any drink you request (they make a great Sangria) but you have no idea how much they are before you order them. Not good!
We stay here for Valencia, the last city to visit in Spain. We’ve been in Madrid, Sevilla, Granada, Barcelona and the last one is Valencia. We choose all 4-Stars hotel for our trip and SH Ingles is definitely by-far the worst one for our experience. Room amenities is far below the rest of 4-Stars hotel that we have stayed in our Spain holiday. Room amenities really only 3 stars (not comparable to the other 4-Stars hotel that we have stayed in) - No cup for coffee or tea in the room - No boiling water kettle in the room (really bizarre) - No sandals available in the room - No toothbrush available in the room The worst thing is the services and reception, as when we ask about whether we can have cup to be used, they stated that “you will need to get that yourself from the restaurant”, and this statement happened twice, which is stunt us, and they stated that “This is the standard in Spain”, which is not correct as we have stayed in 4 different 4-Stars hotel throughout Spain and it is not the case, and they always has these amenities that I mentioned below. But the statement of “you will need to get that yourself from the restaurant” is really bizarre and far from hospitality standard. I will never visit this hotel again, perhaps the whole SH group as maybe this is their standard after all. Definitely not a 4-Stars hotel.
We have stayed at SH Ingles 3 times now. The location is ideal - next to the pretty ceramics museum In a quiet street close to the Cathedral square and many good bars and restaurants. It's very clean and has recently been refurbished. I do feel that the rooms have lost some of their old charm and the modernisation is a bit quirky e.g. there was a low hanging lamp close to the bed - Just at head height!! - And a headboard that was partly mirrored with a low shelf above it - not exactly comfortable! That said, the hotel is still good value with a lovely cocktail bar, outdoor bar/ cafe and pleasant staff. We didn't try breakfast there as there are several excellent cafes nearby.
My overall experience of this hotel was very good it’s a very attractive hotel in a great location,I had a room facing the ceramics museum so the view was lovely, all, the facilities in the room were perfectly adequate for me and what I would expect from a 3 star property tea and coffee facilities would have been nice but no deal breaker. Nice bar area, didn’t have breakfast because I thought it was a bit expensive and there is a fantastic cafe around the corner for breakfast called federal cafe. Only a couple of small negatives some of the reception staff need to be a bit more pleasant and a couple of days the room maid did not replace the shower wash items but these are really minor issues,I would definitely stay here again and will definitely visit Valencia again as I thought it was one of the best city breaks I’ve stayed in
Lovely hotel, great location in the old part of Valencia. Our room had a stunning view of the entrance to the Ceramics Museum. Room was modern, minimalistic and very comfortable. Breakfast had a nice selection of croissants, pastries, cold meat and cheese. Overall excellent stay and would be very happy to return.
