Booked a room for a stopover en route to Barcelona and wanted to have a look at Valencia to see if we wanted to return for a longer stay: we most certainly will. What a breath of fresh air after spending too long down South! Green areas with cycle lanes - loved it. Anyway, back to the hotel. Chose to park in the underground car park as risking parking on the road (yet to see a car without a dent) was too much. There is a designated hotel parking area but I missed it so just parked in the general shopping area. No matter, tickets/prices are all the same and the discount ticket offering 6 euro off the 20 overnight price that they give at hotel reception still works. Then it was into the lift. Yes, one lift for all the shoppers and hotel guests to get from the car park to the hotel level. The other 2 or 3 that you see when you arrive only go to the ground level entrance outside the building. Nothing they can do about it but a silly idea all the same. Reception was friendly and check in smooth. We booked 2 rooms and they had a bit of a faff tying them together for some reason. Gave one of us a smoking room. Makes you appreciate the no smoking law in hotels in the UK. Couldn't be bothered to ask for a room move but it would have been nice to have had the option to refuse if the hotel had mentioned it when they allocated the room especially as we had kids with us. Rooms were spacious and the beds were very comfy. I always appreciate a good Pikolin mattress. Air con provided loads of heat. Free water in the (non) fridge. Location for shops and restaurants was excellent being on top of a shopping centre. Loads of places to eat (how on earth we ended up in Taco Bel - oh yes, the kids chose) There's even a Corte Ingles next door if you need your Channel and Ted Baker fix. So close to the science park and aquarium and very pleasant walks to get there. Ended up grabbing some room service in the evening. Good enough and the wine was a bargain. My daughter loved her sandwich - easily pleased. Breakfast was great. Loads of choice and even a few hot dishes. Check out took a while as they only had one person and three guests plus phone calls. The other receptionist had scurried off to sign for a delivery and hid until we had all left lol. They had a little trouble selling us aquarium tickets because we had 2 rooms. All in all a great stay and I would hunt out Ilunion group hotels if staying in Spain again.
We enjoyed our stay at the Ilunion 4 for a short family city break ti Valencia. The hotel is well situated, with lots of shops, restaurants and cafes nearby. Great location for an easy walk to the aquarium and science museums. The room was sizable and the breakfast options offered a nice selection of cheeses, meats, fruits, pastries and a few hot dishes. To reach the hotel from the airport, it is an easy hop on the metro--#5 goes directly to the airport (nearest stop about 1km away from hotel)
A very modern, comfortable hotel located adjacent to the Science Park, the Aquarium and sitting above a really good shopping centre. There is a restaurant in the hotel which we used for breakfast. Service was very pleasant and efficient, there is a wide cold buffet choice, but also hot food ids offered cooked to order. We took advantage and had several soft-boiled eggs but strange, the Spanish don’t seem to have ‘egg cups’ so they were served in a bowl. We have encountered this throughout Spain. There is also a further restaurant up on the 9th floor with views across the Science Park but this is not owned by the hotel and is a very expensive Michelin star restaurant that only offers a chefs tasting menu. There is free parking on the street a short walk from the hotel but the whole area, roads in particular are very busy so it was impossible for us to find a space so took advantage of the underground car-park at the hotel. Ask at reception and they will give you a voucher to discount to 20 euro 24 hour rate to 14 euro. Our room was clean and comfortable with great views but it, and the hotel generally, might benefit from a little maintenance. The air Con didn’t work, paintwork was chipped. Overall though we were comfortable and enjoyed our stay.
This hotel was a nice surprise coming from Madrid were our hotel was smaller. May be it had to do that the Madrid hotel was in the city. Ilunion Aqua 4 is located at the modern side of Valencia. Is a little bit far from the hustle and bustle of the city center. Accommodations were pretty nice and the staff was great. The hotel has a contract with a taxi company that get's you to the airport for 22 or 24 euros. They made the reservation and re-checked hours before we had to be picked up. It's right over a shopping mall so definitely you have food and shops at your finger tips.
This easy to find modern hotel was very welcoming with pleasant staff who made the check-in and checkout very easy. Buffet breakfast was included with our accommodation and there were plenty of options for all. Close to the museum and art district, the hotel is a long walk or short bus ride to the beach and the old town.
The hotel is in a great location fro visiting the city of art and science. All the staff were very friendly. The rooms were basic and clean which was perfectly fine for an overnight stay. It you are looking for a city hotel this is a good one with great value for money.
Loved the service and kindness at the reception! The personel was very friendly and the atmosphere was really peaceful. Easy access to the city centre and the shopping area underneath the hotel was convenient as well. A real recommendation according to me.
Stayed here for a 5 night break and hotel was fantastic. Entrance was a bit difficult to find, so here’s the easy way to find it. Stand facing the shopping centre with the roundabout behind you, head to the right and about 100 meters on the left you will see the entrance. Location is fine. There is a large shopping centre underneath the hotel with plenty of choice of fast food and restaurants. We also found a fantastic restaurant 5 minutes walk from the hotel called Burger Beer which does the most fantastic burgers and a great selection of beers. You can walk in to the centre of town in about 20 mins but us lazybones would take the bus which you can catch about 2 mins walk from the hotel. The rooms are large, spotlessly clean and the air con ice cold. Our room was cleaned every day and on the one day that we didn’t venture out till late, there was a card pushed under our door saying if we wanted the room cleaned contact reception. We didn’t bother, but to our surprise when we came back early evening the room had been cleaned. Great service!!. Also 2 free bottles of water every day in the fridge is a nice touch. One day we even got 4 bottles!!. Breakfast is your typical European breakfast with meats, cheeses, fresh fruit, pastries as well as bacon, scrambled eggs, beans, tomatoes and tiny little sausages...lol. All in all not a bad breakfast. Just a quick mention for the staff. They all spoke good English and were helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay here again.
Everything about the hotel was great: 1) Location is close to the beach and right next to the park, which leads you to the city centre and the train station. A great location for long pleasant walks - otherwise a taxi to city centre is around 5 euro. A shopping centre with a lot of shops is just beneath the hotel. 2) The room is clean, well equipped, the A/C works fine, the bed was firm and comfortable. 3) Infused water at the reception was a nice touch, especially since it was not too cold, making it pleasant to drink. It is a pity it is only served till 22:00. 4) Gym was great. The hotel has a partnership with a large fully equipped gym nearby that can be used by guests free of charge. 5) The staff was very kind, helpful and professional. 6) The room was indeed non-smoking and there was no smoke coming through the A/C. Also, it was well insulated from the traffic noise. I can not imagine a better hotel for a stay in Valencia.
This hotel is in a really good location, on top of a shopping centre which has a supermarket as well as some speciality stores. A level of casual restaurants as well if you don't want to eat in the hotel. It's very close to the Arts and Science precinct and a short bus ride or about €6-7 taxi trip to the main beach. The 19 bus into the city (or the beach in the opposite direction) is a short 3-5 min walk away, and only €1.50 each way. I was visiting the city with a friend so didn't spend much time in the hotel itself. I didn't try the restaurant so can't comment on that. You can get much cheaper food directly downstairs from the hotel. The rooms are modern and spacious. The bed was rock hard but still comfy. My only complaint would be that the hotel doesn't have a pool, and I don't think that's especially clear on their website. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and if we come back to Valencia as a family then I would happily stay here again.
