This is not a hotel. It’s more of a youth hostel. The location is great. Secure building but if you’re looking for the facilities of a hotel this is not the place to go. Rooms are very small, as was the bathroom. The shower head had been replaced but was to big in diameter to fit into the bracket on the wall.

Great Location.

Really good location for local bars and eateries. Approx 400 mtrs from metro. Small bedroom but comfy bed. Very helpful staff. Taxi to airport from hotel was €15 euros at 04.15 hrs. Only downside was shared toilet.

The location is phenomenal. The rooms are very basic but definitely sufficient. I would recommend this for someone looking for a relatively cheap but reasonable stay in the city.

Great cheap budget hotel located very centrally to tourist attractions. Great customer service. Hotel is basic, located in old building, but just stayed the night with family so great for what it is. Note bathroom are very small and AC is weak.

Really enjoyed my 4 night stay here. The staff were very kind from day one to departure. Loved the location. Once you step outside the building you're in the mix of where you want to be. All the good spots - and there are many - are steps or just a few minutes walk. Great value for money was the cherry on top!

The location is golden, if that's all you care...

I can't be more pleased with the location of Pension Alicante even though the sign is a little hidden and wasn't easy to find at the first place. I came into Valencia via high speed rail (AVE by Renfe) from Madrid (Madrid-Puerta De Atocha station to Valencia Joaquin Sorolla station). After I arrived Valencia Joaquin Sorolla, there's a free shuttle (look for Renfe sign) right outside the train station that connects travelers to the location train station which is right next to Xativa metro station and Pension Alicante is within 2 minute walk from Xativa station. The girl who helped me checked in spoke pretty good English and gave me a really helpful overview of where to go, what to visit in Valencia. I originally booked a double room with shared bath (that's what's available when I booked) but then was contacted by the manager to see if I am willing to swap to a single room with private bath about 2 weeks prior to my stay. I asked for the pictures to ensure what I'm getting into, and they sent the pictures within 3-4 days. The room looked exactly like the pictures I received, and even though it's tiny, it's efficiently equipped with all things I needed. The only complaint I have is that it's quite noisy there. It's actually not the surrounding but the fellow residents that's making it kinda unpleasant to stay there. You can hear people talking late at night and kids running and playing at 3 am when the parents are checking out. If you have ear plugs, you might be fine.

Avoid Room 4

While the pension is in a great location, the room was not great it two respects, the air con made an awful noise, but that wasn't the worst aspect, it was the smell. I can't comment on any other room, but room 4 was dreadful. The bathroom and toilet are in separate rooms, which has resulted in the toilet having no ventilation. As a result it stank. You could not keep the door open at all. We resulted to spraying eucalyptus and tea tree oil antiseptic in the room before entering. The air con running helped with air circulation but the noise meant sleep was not easy.

Affordable pension in a great central location

Pension Alicante was a great base for a three day vacation in Valencia. The accommodations are basic, with small rooms and no frills, but the location can't be beat: near the train station and the Plaza del Ayuntamiento and accessible by foot to all of the Old City. The air conditioning struggled to keep up with the hot weather, but was adequate.

Perfect winter break

Very friendly and helpful staff on arrival. Rooms well cleaned every day. Fantastic location for train station, local bus to the beach, and a short walk into town. Great sunny/warm weather in December!

Stayed here for a night while visiting Valencia. This hostel is situated in a great area, walking distance to Valencia's inner city "pearls". Bed very comfortable, bathroom was just next doors from us and was in very good condition. The hallway was a bit loud when someone was talking there, but got a full night uninterrupted sleep. Staff was very helpful. Bikerental cheaper through this hostel as well. Took the bikes down to the beach and back. They were able to store our luggage after we checked out and still had time before our flight. I would stay there again.
