We stayed 6 nights here in mid-September and enjoyed our stay thoroughly. Our room was good-sized, had a large, well lit bathroom, and a view over the lovely garden and patio area, where we also relaxed. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The beautiful park surrounding the City of Science & Arts is a short walk away, and there are lots of small cafes, bars and restaurants, also within an easy walk. We ate twice in the excellent hotel restaurant (with starched linen tablecloths and napkins). Unlike many hotel restaurants, the prices were about the same as those in nearby cafes and tapas bars. Prices for Spanish wines were amazingly moderate, as well. Breakfast -- a well prepared hot-and-cold buffet -- was included. I was surprised to see that this hotel was not rated more highly by TripAdvisor reviewers. We would definitely stay here again if the opportunity arose.
This hotel when it first opened I'm sure would have been amazing- I wish I had paid more attention to the reviews as it really is worn down. In the room I stayed in, the table had lots of scratches, wall paper and paint in need of repair, bed squeaky and old, fridge frosted up, plug stop broken in bathroom, shower needs deep clean etc. The housekeeping in my room was inconsistent day to day. I paid to use the spa and this was a similar picture, some of the facilities were not working properly and it needs a deep clean. This goes for the gym as well, I paid to use the one in the shopping centre opposite instead- best gym I have used with great equipment. I'm dissapointed I couldn't give this hotel a better review, it clearly needs to close for a few months for a mini refurb, it's a shame them management have tprioitised the upkeep and instead clearly used it as a cash-cow
5 nights at hotel Primus , was a mixed bag to say the least ......Room was nice , even though the beds moved all the time , brakes didn't work , well well worn ......Breakfast was very good , plenty of choice and enjoyable , but the restaurant was not a pleasant experience , second night was a reserved table for two , my meal of tuna , noodles and prawns was disaster , the tuna was cold and raw , when mentioned to the staff , sorry was said , with a smile on their face which didn't appear sincere , yes , I had another meal , with tuna being half the size of original but eating 15-20 mins apart from my wife wasn't what was desired .."......Unlucky possibly , but not what was needed .....also , even on the 6th floor , the traffic noise is quite loud .....
The room was spacious and all services worked smoothly. Breakfast was a good selection and all staff were friendly and helpful. It was some distance from the 'old city' but a five minute walk to the science and culture centre
I stayed at the Primus Valencia over a long week-end. For the traveller, the good news is that the closest metro station (Maritim-Serreria) is the terminus of Line 5 direct from the airport. The fare is 4.50 euros for the single journey. The bad news is that the hotel is about 15 minutes' walk from there! I saw no taxis outside the station, but the N°1 bus does stop outside the hotel and is fairly regular. I arrived to find that my room was not ready. This was due presumably to the fact that check-out is at 12h00, so the bulk of the cleaning has to be done in the afternoon. Having been travelling since early in the morning, I insisted on having a room straight away. The counter clerk, Clara, did her utmost and found me a room on the 4th floor. The room was pleasant and fairly large, with a view out towards the harbour - well, there would have been a view out to the harbour if the windows had been clean! But I guess that is not a job that can be done on a daily or even weekly basis! The bed linens were crisp and comfortable. The bathroom was fairly spacious, and again the towels were fresh and well laundered. I appreciated the fact that the toilet was apart from the bathroom. Breakfast takes the form of a buffet with a wide range of food on offer: fruit juices, fresh fruit, bacon, eggs, cereals, yoghourts, bread and rolls of many descriptions, cakes, ... plus tea, coffee and the like. A very wide choice indeed. The staff were invariably helpful whenever I had to ask for advice or assistance. Next door to the hotel stands the El Corte Inglés deparrtment store, which is handy for (up-market) shopping, while across the road is the Aqua shopping centre with middle-of-the-range (chain) stores and a few reasonably-priced restaurants.
I really liked this hotel. We had a lovely room on the sixth floor, spotlessly clean, large beds (singles pushed together), laminate floors (more hygienic) modern bathroom, lots of storage. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. It also boasts An outdoor pool. Location? It's either fantastic or awful depending on what you like and how mobile you are. It's close to the science park and the Turia River Bed Gardens, the latter take you on a wonderful walk from the futuristic science park, past the old city to the zoo. From the hotel to the old town is a two mile walk along the Turia and us worth doing. A bus is just one Euro Fifty cents (no 19). Bus isn't really a good option for a late night in the town. A taxi is between eight and ten euros with the bulk of the cost being waiting at traffic lights. The hotel is a twenty minute walk to a fab beach with many good restaurants and a lovely promenade. 5 or 6 Euros by taxi depending on whether the lights are for or against you. All in, it's a good location to enjoy a mix of what Valencia has to offer and we loved it. There were negatives. Bar prices were a bit steep. Waiter service for outside drinks was a bit slow. Also, there is a desperate need for some brollies around the pool. The pool is noisey due to being next to a major road - but hey, you are in the middle of a busy city.
We spent 2 nights at the Primus, on arrival we checked in, this did take some time, not sure if there was a problem, but after 30mins we got our key, our room was on the 1st floor. A large spacious room, double bed, fridge, table chairs, safe, TV, bathroom , very modern , clean, towelling robes and slipper supplied. The only downfall, being on 1st floor, above was where breakfast was served , so we were woken but chairs being constantly been moved. The staff were very helpful, and the hotel was really nice, very modern, bar, nice grounds, small pool. Breakfast was excellent, hot food, continental, fruit, various cakes, bread, staff very efficient. You are about 20/25 min to the beach and about 30 min to the old town , we were there for a wedding reception , so we did not see all of Valencia, we would definitely go back and stay at the Primus, but would ask for a room on a different floor, that is the only thing we would change .
We stayed at the Primus for a little getaway/staycation. We had the Family Suite which had a large king sized bed, extra large living space, balcony with lounging chaise, and we had a separate room with a double bed and bathroom that the kids shared. Both rooms came stocked with a mini bar that was complimentary to our reservation. We felt like VIPs in this hotel. It was relaxing, close to Aqua Mall with plenty of food choices and close to the Art & Sciences Center. Price was very high, but we travelled in peak holiday time.
Very nice hotel, walking distance to Aquarium and Science center - about 5 min walk, nice and responsible staff, good pool on the ground. Two shopping malls are nearby with several cafeterias around. Overall - I would recommend it if you're OK to stay not in the Valencia city center.
Nice hotel excellent staff, room cleaned daily. In need of a refresh. We noticed a lingering smell of cigarettes so not sure if this was formerly a smoking hotel. We didn't think the breakfast was worth €8 each. The pool is a lot smaller than it appears in the pictures.
