It would appear that whoever started building this had big plans, large rooms, Jacuzzi tubs, fireplaces, pool and water slide but either ran out of money or had friends and family do the finishing( or both) because it sure shows. on the plus side the room was clean, comfortable and warm. the towels had to be special order.. I didn't think they made towels that small. breakfast was light.. cutting the muffins in half was an interesting touch. I suppose you get what you pay for and we stopped because it was inexpensive, but a little bit nicer touches would have brought us back.
We based our stay here to gain points from the hotel rewards program however were told on arriving the hotel was independently owned and not part of the program yet the hotel is listed on the Hello Rewards website as being a member - false advertising if you ask me. Hotel does look quite new from the outside and the room itself was spacious but it is just those little things that make the room feel cheap. The cupboards were cut to accommodate the microwave, the coffee supplies were stashed away in a box. The so called closet had a door hinged right onto the wall - would have looked better to leave the door off. The bathroom fan was so very noisy - doesn't the staff tell their maintenance ?? I get most people feel that putting all shampoo, conditioner and body wash in dispensers saves money but considering the hotel is probably on septic - that's a lot of soap foam for a system to handle. Give me a bar of soap at least - I can handle shampoo on the wall. The pocket door that was supposed to seclude part of the room almost fell off the tracks and had no handles in which to pull on. The breakfast was adequate and the sitting area was large to accommodate lots of guests. The pool and Jacuzzi was clean and both were working along with being a comfortable temperature.
Don't be fooled by the new exterior siding. This place is old and run down. The doors are beat up and there is mold in the bathrooms. There was no hot water available in the late afternoon and evening. So much for the jacuzzi - what a joke. There were only three thin towels for 2 people. Only one serving of coffee was in the room. Breakfast was a meager affair of muffins cut in half, small yogurt. There was a mob around the waffle machine, so really no hot food. Reception person was curt and unhelpful. It was really bad, don't stay there.
Excellent hotel and excellent service. We had a very long drive and was looking to stay in a decent hotel. We have stayed in other hotels as well but this hotel is way better than other hotels in town. The room was very clean and beds were comfortable. Breakfast had everything to start morning with. Overall the best stay so far.
This hotel is cheap...and not in a good way. The room had one packet of coffee and 2 sugar; so only one guest could have coffee. The maintenance is very poor as is the cleanliness. There were splashes of somethung gross on the wall above the bed and above the table with the coffee. There was unsanded mud on the wall, adhesive smeared all around the tub, no silicone around the tub. Just an overall feeling of not taken care of. There were no swimsuit bags. The breakfast was fairly comprehensive with a wide selection of sugar and more sugar. They did have boiled eggs. They are the first hotel we have ever stayed at that doesn't allow you to fill your thermos with coffee. Although, since their coffee was old and bitter, it was no great loss. We come to Valemount frequently and booked too late to get our usual hotel; which is rated lower than this one but is much nicer. We won't make that mistake again.
While visiting Valemount to see Mt Robson we stayed here for 2 days. Not sure if it was because it was after a long weekend or because we used online app but we got a three yes three beds in our room. Two TV's and free WIFI. Rooms were very clean and they even cleaned our room without us even asking for room service. They have a pool, sauna, hot tub and even a small water slide. They offer a nice continental breakfast each morning from 6 - 9 am. Loved our stay and would definitely come back again.
We phoned around before arriving, and this was the best price we found. The rooms were okay. We had a large group and this hotel couldn't provide extra cots, so some of us had to sleep on the floor. The WiFi was VERY slow, so the kids hated it. Great breakfast room and a nice indoor pool with hot tub and indoor slide.
We were passing through Valemont on our way from Vancouver to Edmonton and were planning on camping but it was pouring with rain so we booked a room at this hotel for 2 people plus a dog (for a $15 fee). Our total incl taxes and fees for 2 double beds was $200 for the night. What a dismal place. Our tub didn't look like it had been cleaned as it had someone else's hair all stuck to it, our sheets had a stain on it and the room needed a good scrub and some TLC. Slapping a coat of paint on a run down dirty hotel doesn't justify charging folks $165 a night. The breakfast doesn't really make it worth it either. Bagels/toast/cereal/hard boiled eggs/waffles/muffins/danishes/yogurt/coffee/juice/milk. Your best bet if you're heading east is to keep going an extra hour and stay in Jasper.
They had us in a room over the office that had an A/C unit that didn't work. no window to the outside just to the hall way. Room looked like an old storage room that they converted. no smoke detector in room.
Room had an interior pool access... neat water slide for the kids. Average rooms (sink not in the main bathroom). Laundry was expensive... cost us $4 to dry clothes half dry... $8 total on the dryer alone. Valemount by the way doesn't have too many places to eat but this is a hotel you might consider when travelling through. Breakfast good.
