I wouldn't recommend this hotel because I was greatly disturbed at my second night's stay. I have never left a bad review for Holiday Inn but this one was an unfortunate case. We had trouble in C/I because the front desk gave us a wrong room for 2 times (wasted almost an hour of our time). Then he changed my booking from attic room to suite (same price, but I had my preference) which didn't have a bathtub. The website mentioned all rooms have bathtubs, but the reality is they are still in the process of renovation. Then front desk offered breakfast. Later his generosity was used as a way to accuse us for making false complaint. The manager basically said because we have enjoyed their breakfast, the price was almost the room price I paid as IHG member, then we shouldn't have more complaints. And as per German law, the hotel doesn't owe me anything. But how would I know that on the second night at 1am there would be gradual and random noises of footsteps of some mini foots? So crisp, fast but annoying enough to drive you nuts. If I knew this then I wouldn't want to book for an attic room, oh, which didn't have a working hair dryer and 2 plugs were broken. And as foreigners who already spent so much money in visiting Europe, would I really want to sacrifice our sleep for a fake story in return for some compensation? (I called 4 times at 2am when problem occurred, the first time it was answered. But 20 minutes later when problem was not resolved, no one answer my phone call ) It's not even logical. I was so serious in making my complaint, but the hotel didn't feel I was honest. The manager said he was apologetic and believed I was disturbed at night by nosies, but I didn't believe he was sincere. When I pushed them in making compensation to us, the hotel refused. So I don't think they really believed me, and that is why it is frustrating. I think I'm angry at this hotel not only because it ruined my energy the next day, but also my integrity was doubted, and my impression on Holiday Inn. Maybe Holiday Inn in Germany is simply what the brand means in Middle East and Asia! It's true that the room price seemed to be a good deal in Munich, but please go with an understanding that their service is whole lot different than Holiday Inn in Middle East and Asia :(
We stayed here and took the train into Munich city center. The hotel is not far from the train station. The breakfast buffet is great (and kids eat free). Our room was quiet & comfortable with a fold out sofa for our two kids and plenty of space. The A/C worked fine. The staff was very helpful and had family day passes for the trains and city maps. The parking was $12 euros a day (not bad for Europe) in an underground garage easily accessed through the hotel. We ate dinner one night in the hotel restaurant and it was good. There isn't much near the hotel - we picked it as a base to venture into Munich via the train.
Good sized hotel rooms and bathroom with all the amenities including on site washing facilities. Free parking in a nearby lot is a bit of a walk but beats 12 Euro per night at hotel underground. Unless you want fast food, local cuisine is a bit of a walk or drive. Good option for family travel
nice country side hotel with many facilities in walkable distance.. easy to get there in a train if you dont have lot of luggage.. get into a cab if you are going with a luggage on the day of arrival and while leaving..
Beautiful room, spacious and great amenities.. The staff helpful but not even bother bringing an adaptor to my room.. Charging 6€ per tray service I think is quiet expensive, I picked up from the restaurant straight away.. Parking lot 5 minutes walking but free, nice point.
I stayed here with my husband and two children for three nights. We were amazed with our two storey room. Upon entering our room you have two single beds pretty close to one another however they can be pulled apart. Then down the spiral staircase to a double pull out bed and bathroom. We couldn't have asked for more.Very spacious, free wifi and the breakfast is good too. We found it a little expensive for the food and drinks though. Also if you leave 20 euros with the receptionist then the Xbox console was available for you to play in the hotel lobby then return the controls and collect your euros. The only downside is that it was very far out from the city centre and quite a train ride away.
We have been staying here for a couple of times by now, both several nights for visiting Munich as well as single nights in transit to the South. The room design is somewhat special but perfect for a large family like ours. The breakfast is great! The hotel is close to S-train station which brings you to Marienplatz in 20 minutes. We will definitely choose this hotel again.
I enjoyed my stay here. It met all my needs. Parking can be costly in Europe. I loved that this hotel offered free uncovered parking a short walk away. It was a bit spooky walking to that dark remote parking lot at night so if you're a woman be careful or pay for parking below the hotel. The rooms have AC but this two story hotel room was only cool on the top floor with the AC unit. The lower floor guests would not cool down enough to sleep while guests sleeping in the upper floor froze.
I stayed here for a conference. It is not the hotel I would choose. The rooms are small and badly designed. They feel like what one would imagine a hotel behind the iron curtain. The lobby looks nicer and the breakfast area is well done design wise. Breakfast is good but it gets crowded and one has to wait for a free place to sit. The fitness area is a joke: it is tiny storeroom in the cellar; they really do not want anybody to do sports.
I fly into/ out of Munich quite regularly on business and normally stay in a Holiday inn close to the airport, I decided a change was needed and found this hotel, it is so much better and normally cheaper also. Helpful friendly staff, really good restaurant and good choice of food. My room is always upgraded being a Gold member which is nice. The only thing I find negative is it can get quite noisy in the corridors first thing in the morning with cleaners and especially noisy guests talking really loudly coming out their rooms. A much better stay than the airport hotels but obviously further away, but I would still recommend staying here instead.
