Beautiful property, incredible hospitality and a total fairytale experience! Right from the moment you step on the private jetty, the Taj hospitality surprises and delights you. There's so much to experience - getting showered with rose petals, a heritage walk around the property, the beautiful sunset cruise and the evening folk dance performance. The rooms have the royal feel to them and overlook the City Palace, which is pretty great. Definitely a must visit!
I don't think I have ever stayed in such a unique and lovely hotel. Since the hotel it is situated in the middle of Lake Pichola you need to take a 5 minute boat ride from the pier to get to the hotel, but there is always a boat there to greet you and shuttle you out or back 24-7. The hotel grounds itself is a unique experience, the hotel is well preserved and you have no troubles imagining it as its historical use as a summer palace. I can't say enough wonderful things about the staff. They truly go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable; from the waiter in the restaurant bringing you little dishes of regional cuisine he wants you to try, to the attentive pool staff to the front desk managers who ensure your every need is met. My mother and I were even given an amazing room upgrade for our last night to a palatial suite which was a nice cake topper to an enjoyable stay!
This place is a unique palace and situate inside Lake pichola. we arrived a their personal jetty and from there guests are taken in a boat shuttle to the palace. on arrival guest are treated with a flower showers and an aarti. The place looks amazing with it unique design and historic feel. the reception staff was excellent and efficient and we were also provided an early check in by 10 am. we had a 4 day stay and it was a pleasant one. the hotel gives u a palace like feel with open veranda and a beautiful pond inside the hotel just like a palace. since twin bedded rooms were not ready we were given a king bed room to relax for some time. The rooms though were gud but i though could use some updating. they were nice but i had a different picture in my mind when booking this place. i understand the need to keep the charm of the place but still some furniture and the bed could be updated. the room was lake view and we could see the udaipur palace right from our room. the pool is well sized but the Jacuzzi is definitely small and can only accommodate 2 persons. the gym i would say was the smallest gym in the world i would say. nothing much there apart from 3 treadmills and a gym cycle and few weights all in a very small room. the main part was the overwhelming attitude of the staff in their restaurants and all over. they were highly efficient and very sweet to interact to. the breakfast is gud i would say not excellent as it was a small restaurant and almost half of the items need to be ordered to the waiter as there is limited space to display all the items. and had to wait for the item a bit. though the food was excellent. in the evening you will be greeted by snacks and a traditional rajisthani dance show in the veranda just like the Maharajas would do. this was a new for me and the best part of the stay. overall the stay was nice but i think its way too overpriced as compared to the rooms available. service no doubt was excellent. I would somewhat recommend it and somewhat not for its high price..
Staying at Taj lake palace is a invaluable experience which will be cherished for a long time . The moment u enter the hotel parking lounge you are transported in a completely different world . The staff leaves no stone unturned to make u feel like a royal highness. The folk dance , swimming pool , boat spa , heritage walk keeps u entertained. Special mention to Apurva who was very outstandingly hospitable at Neelkamal and Deebankar at the reception . Will be surely looking forward to our next royal journey at Taj lake palace udaipur .
Loved the place ,located in the middle of lake pichola with a cool breeze blowing all day long and everywhere you look theres water all around Staff are extremely hospitable ,courteous and polite Welcome drink guava mojito was the best i tasted We were upgraded to a deluxe suite and it was great ,the window opened straight onto the lake The entire decor is ethnic ,was the summer home of the former kings of udaipur before being leased to the taj in 1970 Traditional dance performance and the evening visit to jagmandir organised by the hotel was nice My daughter was presented with a toy squirrel and spoilt rotten with choclates every now and then The food was nice ,visited the multi cuisine restaurant ,breakfast buffet was limited but good, loved the poha . Swimming pool is a bit small as they have space issues and the bad part is kids are only allowed morning 10 to 12 and evening 5 to 7 ,also they are allowed only in 1 restaurant ,management needs to look into that as families do have a problem To and fro from the lake is by boats ,highlight is your in the best part of town Would highly recommend this ,only thing make sure you visit in September to January as May is really freaking hot . View from the terrace is really nice ,make sure you roam around the whole property as every part has different views Being Taj members helped as they gave a good discount on the final bill ..
A fairy-tale experience for sure. Everything was magical--the boat shuttle from the jetty, the rose-petal shower upon arrival, the lovely period room impeccably decorated in 19th century splendor but with 21st century amenities, the delicious breakfasts in our own private turret in the dining room, the lovely gardens, the relaxing pool, the tour of the grounds and the dancing performances each evening--all were designed to make guests feel like royalty. Not to be missed! If you ever want to splurge, this is definitely the place to do it. Worth every penny of the foridible price. Stay more than two days and spend at least one entire day just soaking up the experience of living in a palace of perfection.
Undoubtedly the best stay we had. A few minor issues such as water logs in the room but could be ignored due to the great taj service. The room was spacious and the food was lavishly nice. Loved the mid lake concept too. Lovely stay overall.
This is one of the best hotels in the city Udaipur. I experienced a royal stay in this hotel. The services were awesome. the front desk and the employees were helping. the hotels look is awesome. Rooms are the best things.
My experience in udaipur is mindblowing best city in INDIA Incredible experience staying at the Lake Palace. The staff were so welcoming and the hotel extremely well appointed. Nothing was too much trouble and waking up to a 360deg lake view was magical. Highly recommended!
I can't say enough great things about this hotel. We had been traveling for a month in India and had quite a crazy experience at some of the other Taj properties we stayed at. Considering we were staying at Taj Lake Palace and I didn't want to be let down I called ahead, and I'm sure glad I did. The property manager, Rahul, instantly greeted us and assured us he would change our mind about Taj. Beyond all of the amazing service, he listened. He actually took the time to ask questions and cared to understand how he could turn our experience around. Complete success. If it is your first time in Udaipur Taj Lake palace is a must. Unlike the other hotels, due to its geography, it's very hard to access unless you are a guest. Stay here and visit other properties if you wish, but this palace offers all the romance, comfort, and charm of a royal property. Can't express how unique and captivating it is. The Rajasthani dance every night by the bar is such a special treat! If you are looking to relax during a trip to India, this is the perfect spot.
