This hotel/villa was our best stay whilst in Bali. The room was large and clean and on a 2nd floor. On the ground floor we had a kitchen area and a 2nd shower and toilet. Pool was a great size too. All the staff were super friendly. Laundry was cheap and efficient

When we arrived we just wanted to check straight back out again - windows, floor, mirror, basins etc looked filthy, but the deal-breaker was the stains all over the bed cover and pillow-slips, so we checked the sheets and you could not only see but feel how dirty they were! The duvet was brown with filth and wear, the mattress and pillows were stained, there were no towels but a bath-mat that was holy and stained. The toilet was also dirty. Upon complaining we were given clean sheets and a new duvet and the toilet was cleaned, so we decided to try and make do. The shower (which was coming unfixed from the wall) got cold quickly, the bathroom was too dark to see anything even with the light on, I've added a pic of the filth on top of the soap bottle, and we never had a bath because we didn't trust it's cleanliness. The TV only had indo channels and didn't get enough reception to watch any, the bug spray was empty and we didn't use the pool (which is a small plunge pool not one you can do laps in as advertised) because it had a suspicious brown lump in it that remained untouched for the 3 days we were there. Breakfast came with dirty cutlery, badly chipped cups, greasy fingerprints on the plates and the top of the straw in my drink looked like it had faeces on it! The nasi goreng and banana pancakes were both inedible (the latter still coming with condensed milk as someone mentioned below) and the tiny amount of hot water in the jug they bought for coffee was cold. Each time we left the villa locked we came back to find it unlocked with our items rifled through, despite no cleaning having been done and our towels being left outside. This place is on fab grounds in a fantastic location, the owner needs to inject a bit of cash into updating sheets, crockery etc and get some reasonable cleaners in and it could be wonderful, but the whole thing screamed management who don't give a damn and costs cut wherever possible, I wouldn't recommend!

Stayed at room 109. Clean, huge bedroom, huge bed, private pool. Price of villa is very reasonable. Staff are friendly, accommodating of our needs. Near/walking distance to restaurants, grocery, ATM machines. Signage of the hotel needs to be bigger. Landmark would be Taco Casa & Buddha Bowl. Thank you, my husband and i had a pleasant stay. We hired a driver for our tours, so we didn’t use their shuttle service. But their driver, who drove us to Padang Bai was good. Pls thank him from us.

Umae Villa is beautiful, with mini rice fields, and beautiful greenery and flowers in each villa. The pool was great and cleaned daily, and breakfast was brought through at your requested time between 7:30-10:30am daily by the lovely staff (small - choose omelette, pancake, mie or nasi goreng as well as a juice and a little bit of fruit). The villas are very big and beautiful and quiet, I slept very well there. This is great given the central location of the villa. Negatives or things to improve on from our stay - the biggest thing would be communication with the staff. Although they were lovely it was hard to talk to them if you had any requests or problems - they would often act as if they understood when they did not, such as when we put our breakfast order/time in or when our TV wasn't working. But regardless the staff were very sweet and the villa was lovely. Also, note that this is not a standalone villa - there are about 10 or so in a U shape, and you can see the neighbouring pools/ground floor to your left and right from the top floor (and hear them too) so not completely private. These are things to note, overall we had an amazing stay there. Truly a beautiful and reasonably priced accommodation option.

This was the second time my husband and I have stayed at Umae Villa. Quiet, peaceful and private. The grounds and the rooms are absolutely beautiful!!! Staff are super friendly and the shuttle bus is great if you want to get dropped in the main hustle and bustle of Ubud. Delicious restaurants and cafes that are walking distance as is the Monkey Forest and Yoga Barn. We love staying here and will most likely stay here again next time we are in Ubud :)

What an amazing location, walkable distance to the Monkey Forrest, Markets, Palace and many other sights. The villa is close to many other attractions too meaning from here we could go ATV riding, rafting, temple tours etc. The room itself was incredible with our own private pool, separate relaxation area, mini bar. The included breakfast wasn't huge but was enough and there are lots of other restaurants nearby if you want a change. Only issue we had was that some of the staff really struggled with English and things like ordering a taxi for dinner took longer than expected due to communication issues. Most other hotels we've stayed in Bali, the staff had great English so it just meant we had to be a little more patient.

Good location, friendly staff although not always helpful. AC doesn’t keep the room cold isn’t adequate for room size. Communication was not always good with staff. Clean nice pool overall a good experience.

Staying here is the worst decision ever. Poor breakfast, came 15 minutes late with dry fruits (not freshly cut fruits) and dirty spoon. I ordered banana pancake with caramel sauce but it turned out to be egg-smell sweet condensed milk covered pancake. Towels are are not set up. We have to ask them everyday. When we arrived, check in at 3pm no towels at all, asked the reception but she seemed doesn't understand english so we went back to the reception again for our towels. The next day my husband and I went out for lunch and back with no towels again. They didn't set it up because they sent it to laundry and ready again at 3pm. Seriously???? Is that the only towel you have?. They said shuttle is everyday at 10, 12, and 4pm but apparently we have to book it 2 hours in advance and on the check out day, shuttle is no longer free, they asked us to pay extra 50k. Yes it's cheap but we already disappointed since day 1. Inexperienced staffs, probably never worked in a hotel or villa before. My husband and I often visit Ubud for our weekend getaway or holiday because we love Ubud so much. But this time is such a disappointment. We paid 1,7 for 2 nights and this probably the cheapest private pool villa we ever booked. They should've not gone cheap with services but again.. if you pay peanuts all you get is the monkeys. That's all I can say.

I wonder how other guests contacted them other than calling them. Why they NEVER replied any single messages? I had sent couple of emails prior to my visit.. But sadly never got any reply.. But I can see from their Facebook almost everyday there is updated post saying Thank You to guests stayed with them.

Horrible people at the reception desk. Horrible in-villa Air conditioning. Atleast manager on call was sensible although non-helpful but all local staff at the villa turns against you even if you have a genuine complaint. For them if A/C is not working, providing a fan is like doing a favour for which you should be indebted to them for life. They will charge tax even for breathing in their premises (bit exaggeration)but when it comes to providing what is basic as per what you have paid, they don’t care. Avoid staying there and bookings with ALS DESTINATIONS AND TRAVEL TRIANGLE
