I visited and had a 3 hour spa experience. It was the best spa I’ve ever had. The staff were so attentive and helpful and the surroundings were heavenly. I would certainly recommend. The products used on my face and skin left it feeling soft and glowing. The sounds of nature while having a message was soothing and relaxing Thank you
My husband and I stayed here for three nights of our honeymoon in Bali and wish we could have stayed longer!! Upon arrival we got upgraded to our own Villa, which I am so glad we did!! Next time I'll definitely pay a little extra to make sure we get a villa again! The rooms are very nice and well appointed with gorgeous views of the surrounding jungle and river landscape. The spa is the ultimate luxury and reasonably priced. ( I will dream of those jungle sounds during our couples massage above the river) The included breakfast buffet was a nice bonus! The only thing I would say is that the shuttle into town doesn't run frequently enough. We ended up renting a scooter for like $5 a day in town and used it to get around Ubud during our stay which was super fun! Definitely recommend staying at this place; you will not regret it!
This hotel came highly recommended, so maybe that’s why we were a bit disappointed. The check in was not personable or special at all, we arrived around 0200 am and were not warmly welcomed. However, we were happy to hear that room service was available 24/7, to our disappointment the food was terrible. This left a bad taste in my mouth, no pun intended. The next morning we went to breakfast and were amazed by the views. However, different guests were touching breakfast items and returning them with staff standing there watching. I finally said something myself to the guest (completely unacceptable, the staff members should have done that). It’s disgusting to know that this type Of behavior was accepted. I also do not wish to see other guests in their bathrobes attend breakfast, pretty inappropriate for a five start hotel. The pool area was amazing, however one side of the main pool was in the shade while the other was in the sun, guess where there was never any loungers available at 0900?! There were definitely not enough loungers in general and the second pool by the spa was “adults only” (we had a one year old). The food by the main pool was enjoyable while extremely expensive! The bar staff was also extremely attentive and nice. Too bad there was not sufficient evening entertainment. I think we could have gotten more bang for our buck elsewhere..I would not recommend this hotel to family and friends.
My wife and I stayed here and felt like royalty! The staff are so attentive. The breakfast is great. Dinning in the evening was great too with a good wine collection. The pool areas are amazing. Afternoon tea is ok ( not what we know it as but still nice experience). Good shuttle service into Ubud so there was no need for taxis or scooters here. Hair dryer , safe and fridge provided. The fridge is a mini bar which we emptied and filled with our own alcohol from the supermarket which was cheaper. We had room 302 which over looks the gardens where they hold the shows. So we watched for free.
We had a couple's spa treatment and lunch package and it was amazing! What a beautiful location for a spa. It was situated a distance from the main hotel, down the side of the hill, just above the river. The treatment room was stunning, as it opened out on to the river on one side and the hillside on the other, with constant water running down, so throughout the entire treatment, we could hear the sound of natural running water. Lunch afterwards at the River Cafe was one of the best meals we have had in Bali.
We've spent the first week of our Honeymoon at Maya Ubud and it was more than we could imagine or dream of! From the minute we arrived until the last day everything was PERFECT! The stuff it so nice, they fullfill every wish you have and you're more than just a "room-number". They became like friends or family within a few days! We were so sad that we had to leave but we will definately come back! Thank you again Maya Ubud for making our Honeymoon so special!
Stunning location for this beautiful hotel with warm, friendly, helpful staff. We stayed a week B&B and enjoyed breakfast. The hotel runs a shuttle bus to Ubud which we used every day and when full in the evening on the last return the driver arranged for a car to collect us instead. Ubud is bustling with restaurants and shops. The hotel is quiet, immaculate and our room was spacious. We loved our stay. One criticism has to be the lack of sun loungers, people would save a lounger in the sun with a towel and not return for ages leaving others with ones in the shade or none at all. Either provide more sun loungers around the grounds or be strict with guests with this selfish behaviour. Spa is excellent in a beautiful location. Would recommend Maya and it's worthy of its star rating.
We had a lovely stay in Maya Ubud, the room was ideal one tiny criticism would be that there were no plug points near any mirrors which made straightening my hair a bit of 'hope for the best' experience but other than that couldn't fault it. The staff were very friendly the breakfast selection was amazing. We ate in the restaurant one night and the river cafe on leaving day couldn't fault either experience, absolutely gorgeous setting and the forest walk was a great wee adventure! Would highly recommend and would definitely go back!
Stayed in June 2019 for 2 nights at the Deluxe Pool Villa. Basically the property itself is a photo material. Everywhere you go, I bet you couldn't resist to put on you camera phone. The property has 2 pools, the one near the river is beautiful. The breakfast was nice, the service also great and the Bacon is super tasty. I myself had 3 plates of it. Couldn't blame myself. They had shuttle to Ubud Tourist Areas, which really close. Definitely will come back for another stay. Thanks Maya Ubud!
My husband and I returned to the Maya (for the 4th time!) and were greeted so warmly by all the staff. We enjoyed a blissful four nights in a deluxe room and nothing disappointed. Our room was most adequate with a beautiful view. Whilst the bathrooms are a bit dated everything works and the rooms are large with great balconies. Everything is very clean through out the whole resort. Our highlight was the food and therefore we only ate out of the hotel for one meal during our entire stay. The Teppanyaki and Wayan the chef was as good or better than in the past. The breakfasts are SO fresh with lots of choice and the coffee very good. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner at the hotel, leaving only once for dinner. There seems to be a new vibe and the food has improved which amazed us as we already thought it was wonderful. There is more choice on the menu and more healthier options. There are also great nightly dining themes showcasing local Balinese and Japanese food. The warm friendly helpful staff through out the resort and particularly in the restaurant area are one of the hotels greatest asset. The pool area has been enhanced with excellent service (much improved since our last visit) and wonderfully comfortable new sun lounges. We lazed by the pool every morning. I visited the gym each day to walk on the treadmill and it is a great gym area and well appointed. Sadly the air conditioning needs to be improved as when one is not used to the heat it is too hot to walk far or fast. Additional air conditioning would help. All in all we were delighted with the resort and we also enjoyed our pre dinner drink each night in the bar area. We remain surprised that we still have never met the General Manager as opposed to most resorts we stay at, where the GM is visible around the hotel. We highly recommend this wonderful resort spa.
