Never visited Turin before and found it a surprisingly elegant and cool city, with the "Concord Hotel" conveniently located in its centre. Comfortable quarters for a short stop and a decent breakfast. The lifts are rather small for coping with the arrival of a largish group and I did have to return three flights to the reception desk because the room key did not work, but these things happen, and overall we had a restful stay in this well run establishment.
In a good location for the train station and also for the shops and tourist attractions. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. The room, supposedly an upgrade, was ok, nothing special but a comfortable bed. The shower was over the bath with a screen. The hair dryer was a hose type one - after 15 minutes my hair was still wet but my hand was burning holding the hose.
First time in Turin and we picked this hotel as it seemed to be a good location and it sure was. Blocks from train station and near the main shopping and restaurant areas. Staff in lobby were great, friendly and gave advice on how to walk and get to certain attractions as well as giving us restaurant recommendations that were spot on. Hotel lobby was large, two lifts, a floor where a dedicated breakfast area was provided with a large amount of seats and space, a small onsite restaurant and overall just a nice facility. Clean and comfortable rooms, high ceilings, okay sized bathrooms but a tight and low shower that was a bit difficult to manage for my height and I'm only 5'9. Breakfast was one of the best I've encountered. Italian and German items, as many guests seemed to be from that nation. Cereal, fruits, pastries, eggs and bacon and lots of other items all served in a very nice seating area with white table cloths and silverware. One of the best I've expect in my travels. If I return to Turin, I will definitely stay at this hotel again. Great experience!
one of the best hotels we have stayed at over the years every thing was perfect staff food huge rooms large bathroom balcony we only stayed over night on the tour it spoiled us for the main hotel of the tour handy for railway station and shopping for the wife next day
We only spent one night in the newly renovated part of the hotel which was very nice although we had no hot water for our morning shower. The staff however were really unfriendly - bordering on rude. We felt like we were disturbing rather that welcomed at the check in. At check out no apology offered for the water situation, not even eye contact during the interaction. New facilities are nice but they don’t make up for poor hospitality. We will not be going back.
I had a very enjoyable three night stay here. First of all the location is ideal for exploring central Turin, being a moderately short walk from the grand squares of Piazza San Carlo and Piazza Del Castello. In the opposite direction it is very close to Torino Porta Nuova station, for exploring Piedmont. Bedroom and bathroom were fully modern and attractive. Finally I must mention the breakfast (among the best) and the efficient and friendly staff.
The decor in the rooms we stayed in (just the standard room) was classically Italian, and for that it would be unfair to knock its lack of contemporary feel. I have seen the deluxe rooms (or the comfort rooms?!) on their website and I will say that if all rooms were to that standard the hotel would feel much more luxurious. The room is basic, the bathroom was quite poor in my opinion. The breakfast was good, a large array of cold choices and some hot options which could possibly be extended. I am not sure how fresh the breakfast was either as the hotel was far from busy when I stayed there and each morning there was a full spread, which makes me think it would be seriously uneconomical for them to prepare everything from scratch everyday, but who knows. The breakfast staff were young adults/teenagers at work at 8am in the morning so they did a great job. Great front desk staff who were very welcoming and helpful when I forgot my safe combination!!! Overall a good stay.
A 4 night stay. I absolutely can recommend this hotel. Very clean and the interiors are classic. The best thing is the breakfast. So good that in my day of sleeping in I woke up just for the breakfast! The staff is very cordial and competent!
Stayed here recently with an organised group . We had excellent accommodation in comfortable and spotlessly clean rooms . The staff were friendly and helpful . We had a very good dinner , for 39 people , and breakfast was also good , served in a very attractive dining room / restaurant . The hotel has plenty of character and is clearly one that has been a significant place for many decades . It is fairly close to the centre of the city , reached via a pedestrianised area on which there are many historic buildings . It is also very close to the main station and public transport routes .
Had a week here from 8th to 15th April; a refurbished room on the fifth floor; room done nicely but no views; window somewhere in the back wall and bit of a view of the rear yard, if you stood on a chair! No easy chair to sit on; lovely bathroom, except hairdryer not working; breakfasts very good; except the last morning- a takeaway one-very limited. Main plus- location. Staff rather distant and not that helpful again except for one young man.
