It was very nice, clean, and next to a very nice restaurant we went to twice in two days. The hostess was very welcoming and made sure we knew of the opportunities the place had to offer before we checked in. It's well hidden and we felt safe, even at night. Definitely what tourists like my fiancé and I needed for a quick trip!

Toilets didn’t flush/kept clogging. Mosquitos everywhere inside of the unit. I’m covered in bites. No clean towels - we had to use the same towels for 5 days. No HOT water in shower.

Repairs being done at all hours. Pool was never cleaned, bartender was never onsite.

Stay away from this place!! If I can give a 0 score, I totally would. At check in, the front desk gave me a room was less than half of the size of the room I paid. I booked a deluxe apartment with 879 square feet, with living room and dining area. They gave me a room with no living room and dining area. It took me two hours to get a larger room. Then, after I came back from dinner realized the apartment doesn’t have any towels for use. I went to the front desk, the receptionist in the evening was so rude, refused gave me any towel. With dealing with the front desk receptionist for more than an hour, I still could not get a towel. He said he was not authorized to give out the towel. I couldn’t shower!! And he asked me how come I don’t bring any towels for traveling. Really?? The room was dirty. The bed sheet was not cleaned. I wish I could post pictures here for you guys to see. I checked out the hotel in 18 hours with a 7 nights booking. Orbiz is useless here ask well. I have been calling Orbiz more than 15 times ask for help, and asked for refund. No response. Very very disappointed. Do not book this hotel!! Orbiz, if you are reading this message, please reply to me.

The rooftop pool was great. The taxi service was great. The staff was great.

I liked that it was a brand new property so things are new and not used a bunch of times by other tourists especially with what’s going on now. I didn’t like that it’s still under construction so I’m the morning you wake to banging or construction noise. The TV didn’t work which sucked the 1st day we were only able to get YouTube Netflix would not work by the 2nd day nothing really worked. Thank God we had out phones and the Wi-Fi kept up to its standards. Place was very quiet we didn’t see another person there apart from the workers. Want really stressed me out is in the day we arrived our taxi went to the address provided and it was not at that place it was a Cacao Spa on Tulum Ave we drove around for over an hour asking people where this place was and got the run around I called several times and the number was disconnected but on one occasion a guy did answer and hang up I kept calling back but got nothing eventually after driving all over the place we finally found it. I was so frustrated I went to check in and asked why they had no phone and the troubles of finding the place and they kind of just nonchalantly brushed it off. We check in her vin our key and is escorted to our room and it’s a small studio with nothing much and a private pool right away I knew my husband wasn’t feeling it and neither was I so I asked to upgrade to the 1 bedroom suite which was an additional $600. We were very pleased with the room large and spacious my only complaint was no tv.

definitely was NOT pleased and wouldn’t recommend. we had a power outage for a whole day. the other hotels around power came on within an hour and cacao had no power for 26hrs. no power, no a.c., no wifi, & no running water. absolutely horrible. would not recommend.

Thank you for your review on your recent stay at our hotel. Your comments are invaluable to us as we strive to improve each and every stay. An apologie for the inconvenient that you had during your stay with us, Unfortunately with the storm Gamma there was damage to the electrical energy in the entire of Tulum, the energy was being reactivated in phases, unfortunately the area where we are located was the last reactivated, so it was not in our control, however we would love to receive you again to create a better experience. Best regards Hotel Cacao Tulum
