Unfortunately one of the ice machines didn't work and the other was totally out of ice. All we wanted was a cupful of ice. In the hotel's defense, there were several people who had coolers full of ice, it was a holiday weekend, and I think they had used it all up. Other than that, although the hotel is dated, everything was clean and our room was very quiet. We had a good night's sleep and that's what it's all about. The free breakfast included many things, both hot food and cold, and was a nice addition.
Very nice hotel, newly renovated. Breakfast was good and the beds were comfortable. Only complaint is that we asked for a pack & play or crib for our toddler and were told they don't have any. It seemed odd for a hotel not to have cribs, luckily we had family close by with an extra.
The remote for the tv did not fit the tv. Had to get the manager to come show us how to work it. He had to do that also to the room across the parking lot. All we could do with it was move the channels up and down. Everything clean. And even had a jacuzzi tub in the bath. Quiet and a very good breakfast available. Good price. But had lots of problems with Obitz. Still in dispute.They charged me and also the motel did.
People , breakfast, appliances and decor very nice...room smelled of smoke. My medical health cannot accept smoke. Room serviced missed before our 2nd night. I paid $272 to you but the bill I recd was $222. Was there a service or booking charge of 25%?
I travel 100+ nights per year and usually in these small towns the pickings are slim. This was a VERY pleasant surprise. Sure, it was the old classic Holiday Inn layout of which there must have been millions built in the 60's and 70's, but the room was totally remodeled with big flat screen, granite counter and sink, tile bathroom, decent furniture and good bedding. The breakfast area was really nice and for a free breakfast, it was well done with many choices. A very good value.
You cannot say enough good things about this hotel and its staff. First, Yulanda was fantastic, and made our check-in and other details a no-brainer and so easy and pleasureable. Then the room: WOW ! FASTASTIC. Everything was like brand-spanking NEW ! Great wall AC and Heater system ! Beds with Red Duvees laid across them. Comfortable. Like new sheets. TONS of pillows and good pillows.. The bath room was sparkling and probably brand new. Even the sink area was nice. In-room coffee pot and a microwave and a refridge. They all were working like brand new units. SUPER CLEAN. Even smelled like CLEAN- CLEAN - CLEAN. Clean like-new carpetting ~! And a fantastic large-screen flat-panel display. And GOOD QUALITY Cable ! Then the nice breakfast that morning. Incredible. FRESH Jimmy Dean biscuits and gravy, and Fresh you make em waffles, eggs, Cereal (good stuff too !) - Fresh fruit that's good to eat, for once ! LOTS of breads and pastries. Juices and coffees. And they kept everything stocked and coming that morning. Don't waste your money anywhere else. ! This is THE PLACE ! We are so happy we chose to spend our money here !
Hotel was close to where we needed to be. Typical restaurants, gas stations, and grocery stores located very close by for anything you might need. Room was very clean. Loved that it has a mini frig and a microwave. Have coffee makers in the room, but we just walked to the lobby to grab coffee. Breakfast available everyday. Lots of parking. Had a pool, but didn't check it out. Friendly staff. It's an older property, but very well maintained. Just remember you're in Winchester, not Vegas or Orlando. It was perfect for what we needed. Would definitely stay there again!
Great location near many mountain backroads for motorcycling
Considering the location, options for other places to stay are limited. Overall, the staff is friendly, service is adequate, and the place is clean. The biggest issue my family had is "thin walls" - hearing everything said and done by the occupants on either side of us... and that was simply normal conversations and opening doors, etc. (which really detracts from the comfort level for us) Bottom line - if noise bothers you, consider somewhere else. If it doesn't, this is a good choice.
My wife and I found this inn to be clean, comfortable, quiet, and a good value. Everything in the room worked well, the AC/Heat unit worked properly and was quiet, the shower was excellent, and the room was very clean.
It was a bit of a drive, but not too bad for going back and forth to family activities at Sewanee. Internet was good, staff was very friendly, room was clean, and breakfast was nice. Best of all, it was very affordable. We would definitely stay there again.
This was a nice hotel -staff was very friendly and they had free snacks and drinks available and a good breakfast - we liked the room it was very quiet and comfortable my only neg is that the matress on our bed must have been old - it was uncomfortable and I was glad I was only sleeping on it one night. But we liked everything else about this hotel!
