I had been on the road a month and stayed in the Quality Inn. Best staff, outstanding breakfast and the room was very clean and comfortable. Wish I had this place to stay at the entire month. Thank you!
My travel plans had changed and I stopped in at the Quality Inn for the night. The hotel was amazing!!! The walkways to the pool and outside were a beautiful brilliant turquoise. There was a nice gazebo where I could watch the sunset. The hotel room itself was very nice and the bed and pillows were super comfy!!! It was nice to have a restaurant on site so I didn't have to do any more driving and the food was pretty good. The front desk had bottled water for free and also had a very nice beverage dispenser with lemon/cucumber water which was very refreshing to a weary traveler. My travel plans changed again (due to heavy family drama) and I ended up spending another night here. The front desk staff recommended a very nice museum (Mesaland Community College Dinosaur Museum) that was just down the street. The front desk staff were absolutely wonderfully kind and helped me to make reservations for my going home stay on Thursday night. Just loved this hotel!!!
Even though there was parking lot construction, our stay here this time was quite pleasant. The room had obviously been remodeled and upgraded and our stay was quiet. Light from the parking lot at night was an issue and I would recommend some way to block the light coming in or to adjust the outdoor lighting. The room was bright and airy, there was ample seating, and the bed was comfortable and firm. We will return as our night was quiet.
We enjoyed a clean, comfortable room with yummy beds and a recliner chair. There was a made-to-order breakfast in the in-house restaurant (excellent). We also ate in the in-house restaurant, nothing fancy, but the food was good). The staff in this hotel were very friendly. We enjoyed the stop and would certainly stay here again.
Only spent one night here. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and accommodating. There is not an elevator. Rooms are accessed via outdoor corridors. Pets are allowed. Pet fee is required.
I've stayed at this property many times, this last time might have been my last. I enjoyed the new digs. New carpet the room smelled very clean (compared to the time before). Had a good night sleep, got up to go to my relatives, when we came back couldn't get in the room. My husband and my keys were no where our phones. Come to find out they only put us in the room for 1 night, I told them 2 when I checked in. I had the "do not disturb" sign on the door as I always do, the maid went in turned off the ac and finally noticed that we were still in the room. The temps that day were in the 90's with probably 50% humidity, so it was hot. With no air on (because the maid turned it off) our room was very uncomfortable when we got back. I was very mad when I tried to get into the room again, when I went to the front desk I had to re-key and re-bill everything. The clerk repeated many times that the maid put a note in their book about us still being in there. Anyway once we got in the room it was hot as hell, took 45 minutes to cool down. The next morning we were a little scared to leave the room, we went and got breakfast, went back to the room and neither one of our keys worked (AGAIN). This time I was very mad, went to the front desk and the desk clerk wasn't really worried that I was so mad she just re-keyed the cards and said sorry. Later that day went back to rent the room for another day, re-did the keys and went on our way. When we came back to the room that night guess what of course we couldn't get in the room. Now I'm fuming, went to the front desk again, this time there was a young man and a young lady behind the counter, after I explained what happen the young man had the gaul to ask for my drivers license, that just pissed me off more. To add insult to injury we want to breakfast the next morning and couldn't get in the damn room again. That was the last straw. Unless the manager works with me I will never stay at this property again. I tried to put a review on their site but of course couldn't get in so I hope this makes it back to the property manager.
Conveniently located right off the freeway, friendly staff, totally decent breakfast and the rooms were very clean and pleasant. Would absolutely stay again. An older hotel but they have done a wonderful job keeping it nice and updated.
Although the woman who took our reservation over the phone wasn't a great customer rep, our experience changed when we arrived. The man at the front desk was the personification of best first impression. Friendly, informative, very helpful regarding potential places to eat in town and things to see. The room was modest, as we would expect, but the carpeting clearly was new and the bed was fine. Chairs are the next thing they need to replace. Our room was very quiet. There was a reasonable and expanded continental breakfast spread. I don't know why motels so frequently have low quality tea for us non coffee drinkers (Lipton is NOT good quality). Makes for a grumpy start to the day. I was also put off by the "tip jar" in the breakfast area. I've never seen that before, there was no personal service offered, and it was weird.
My girlfriend and I were ending the night in Tucumcari on our way to Dallas the next day. We reserved online and we got into the lobby around 10pm and check in was quick and very straightforward. The lady at the desk was nice and showed us the way to our room. When my girlfriend and I opened the door we turned on the lights to see a standard king size bed and a tv with a walkway to the bathroom. As we turned on the lights and settled in we came across moths and mosquitoes on the walls. That was unfortunate but can happen so I wasn't concerned. The first real sign of trouble to come was cobwebs at the corner of the room (pictured below) I knew then that if we could notice something so glaringly unkempt then the cleaning staff missed other things. This was further confirmed when some tiny spiders scared my girlfriend in the bathroom which is opposite to the cobwebs that had been there for days if not weeks. The next morning we turned on the bathroom lights to find a cockroach next to the tub (pictured below) I don't know what kind of place Quality Inn is running but it certainly isn't a healthy one.
Making our way home westward, making Tucumcari as the stopping point. They offer everything that others do and it was right off the freeway. Comfortable room, clean, could use and update. This is an older property. Is a fairly well care for property. Very large, but cold outdoor pool. They offer some form of food in the evening with wine and beer. A nice breakfast variety. Again cold butter. Why? Guess they don't try to spread on toast. In fact you are given a bottle of water(or two) as you check in. The internet service seems slower than other I have used. There is not much to do in this slowly dying route 66 town.
