The history of the building, the architecture, the beauty and comfort of the rooms, the view, the beautiful grounds, the 3 pools and hot tubs
Beautiful rooms and grounds. Service was very attentive.
The staff and grounds were fantastic...food too!!
I read a bunch of reviews about this property... many of the reviews cite just an "ok" experience. I was hopeful that maybe this was just "hard to please" unfortunately Hacienda Del Sol is just "ok" ... which is not what you want from a resort. There is a $30 per day resort fee which which covers "coffee and water"... many of the reviews state confusion over this, why don't they just build it into the rate? We paid $1100 for 3 days, I've paid less for way better experiences. The food is boring and the "nice restaurant" is only open Thurs - sun, we stayed sun - wed so we had one option for food. Thank goodness we rented a car b/c if not I would have been bored to tears. You think you're getting a AZ wilderness experience, you're not. You're right next to a road, you can hear cars driving by. Our room $330/night, had a view of the parking lot. No stary night view, streetlamps. The pool had multiple dead scorpions in it. The grounds are beautiful if you can ignore the parking lot views. The spa was nice my husband and I both had a massage. The coffee in the room was a single keurig with ONE MUG, and I had to go get creamer at 6am, they didn't restock. Ultimately I was hoping for a remote, eloquent, resort level stay and felt like I got a standard hotel with an american restaurant attached. If the rate was less say around $200 it would have been stomachable but a premium price for a standard experience is not good. We will not stay again.
Hacienda was an absolutely beautiful setting. Very tranquil and amazing staff.
Great views. Quiet and relaxing place.
Great view and terrace restaurant was excellent
This is just a beautiful, well-kept, historic property with amazing high desert flora of all types. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the ambiance.
The rooms are generously spacious. Staff was very friendly. Pools were great. Food was incredibly mediocre Rooms are a little overpriced
This property has a beautiful location and history. Beyond that it is disappointing from a value position.
The hotel was beautiful. i traveled during covid so it was not crowded at all. the food was wonderful. my personal experience is that it had a very romantic vibe.
there feels like there is so much history at this resort. i feel that Spencer Tracy & Katherine Hepburn could have walked next to us many times during our stay. the Hacienda Room was a little small for us.
Beautiful grounds. Extremely clean facilities. Loved the infinity pool. Easy to find. Friendly and helpful staff.
Martin at the front desk was extremely nice and professional. Unfortunately I did not complete my stay. The 2 bed room I booked was actually unavailable when I checked in. Martin tried to offer me a room with a king bed and a sofa bed, but One of my daughters was too frightened to sleep in a separate room than me. The rooms do have an extremely old western feel, which I was ok with, but the kiddos weren’t used to, which added to the discomfort in sleeping in a different room than mama. There was a bit of a dusty, mold smell when we walked into the room as well, but it was probably because the AC was off in 100 degree weather. Again, Martin did what he can to try to resolve the situation, but the accommodations were unavailable. The appearance and views on the property were beautiful though, so it is unfortunate we could not stay.
This is a fabulous place to stay. The staff is amazing along with the food, views, gardens and decor. If you want a retreat, this is the place to go.
Fabulous Location & Setting abd views were grear too!
Hacienda del Sol is a historic resort with beautiful grounds, wonderful views of Catalina mountains, great horseback stables, rustic rooms, fantastic sculptures on the grounds. We loved this resort and will definitely return.
Historical, interesting, beautiful, fabulous vibe, great good, and the best customer service.
