The hotel is excellent. I have very little to remark, except that the rooms are far less modern than the public areas, which is a pity. Still, they are very comfortable with all necessary amenities and very clean. Breakfast is excellent. The hotel is a bit away from the historic centre of Trujillo so it is a good base if exploring the wider region but less convenient for Trujillo itself.
We spent 3 nights here and it was perfect. Being located out of town was ideal as we could relax without the noise and bustle of the city, but it was only a short (and cheap) taxi ride in. The standard of accommodation is very good. Big, well appointed rooms and a comfortable bed. We had a balcony and a view of the pool which was great. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. It was my girlfriend's birthday on the day we arrived and shortly after checking in there was a knock on the door and 2 staff members came in with a Birthday cake and sang Happy Birthday to her! A wonderful personal touch. Would highly recommend staying her whilst in Trujillo.
Anyone touring Peru and passing through Trujillo need to stay here! My family and I travel to Peru often and it is the only Hotel we stay at. The staff is extremely polite, friendly, and helpful. The kids love the pool, playground, and the Llamas roaming the property. There is a full spa with all amenities, not found at many hotels in the northern part of Peru. The food is always fresh and a variety of classic and authentic Peruvian food as well as an amazing breakfast buffet. I cannot express in words how thankful I am to all the staff for taking care of not only my family and I but all my extended family that has stayed at the hotel. They pull out the "red carpet" every time treating us like family. I want to say a special thank you to the general manager who has gone above and beyond to help me navigate the city and connect me with people who can help me with our business in Peru. Very honest trustworthy staff.
PROS: They have a nice Spa Center with nice attending ladies and is not crowded, perfect for couples. They have a small gym where you can decently work out. The pool is beautiful specially at night. The deluxe rooms are at walking distance from the pool and are peaceful and comfy. The food at the restaurant is superb. CONS: The hotel makes an effort but needs to get further into detail. 1. The restaurant waiters need urgent training. They attend as like they are making you a favor. Slow and inattentive. 2. The gym is small enough and they have THREE third-party personal trainers who only lift a finger if you pay them. I tried to get my body fat measured and they did it almost with an angry face. I asked about the prices and the lady was like busy checking her smartphone. Later I needed help with the machines and I made it obvious but Got NO HELP AT ALL. They should eliminate that concession 3. During the check-out, when I recommended checking the toilet as it requires like 2-3 flushes to really work the counter personnel simply said "Ok". No apologies. 4. Finally, I checked-in at 8am and was not offered any early check-in option. Was not expecting a free one but its always nice to feel someone cares about being tired and needing a shower. They said they would call me as soon as the room was available but that never happen.
This hotel is not exactly accessible anywhere without transport, so you need to make sure that you have a car to take you in and out. But it's close to all the major archeological sites and it's new - so the room is very comfortable, with new facilities. No complaints for the overall stay.
What a wonderful place to call home for the week! Everyone was friendly and helpful always with a smile! A big shout out goes to Neyla and Miguel in the bar for making me wonderful hot tea for my hoarse and sore throat. Not much English was spoken, but they knew what I needed and went above and beyond the call of duty. Thank you Wyndham Costa Del Sol!
I stayed at the hotel, along with about 50 other people, for a conference. It is very hard to fault the place. The food at the Paprika restaurant is excellent, the room and bed were comfortable, the shower was particularly good, and the pool and grounds were very well maintained. Even the five llamas were friendly! We were transported to and from Trujillo Airport punctually and without fuss. The staff are responsive and helpful and their English is good. The conference room that we used was also well-equipped and fairly modern. My only criticism is that the WiFi was sometimes painfully slow. If I find myself in the Trujillo area again, I would not hesitate to return.
it is a oasis in this sandy city. great place to rest, convention and stay. the rooms are well equipped, the internet is free and fast so - all OK. 2 things that could make it better: 1. have dollars change to local currency 2. transportation to the city center
Wyndham Costa Del Sol is an ideal hotel if you’re visiting Chan Chan and The Temple of the Sun and the Moon. They are no more than 25 mins away by taxi and are both well worth making the trip up north to Trujillo. The hotel is well appointed with a lovely pool area and relaxing gardens complete with alpacas! You could easily lounge by the pool all day and not do anything else if that is your thing. We’d recommend getting a room overlooking the pool with a balcony or ground floor outside area. The restaurant is very reasonably priced and the food extremely well cooked. Hats off to the chef and team– they certainly know what they’re doing. Breakfast, lunch, room service and dinner were all very good. It’s got a gym, spa, steam room and sauna that were all clean and well run. It is a taxi ride into Trujillo centre but this is easy and cheap – the doorman will get you one. Would recommend this hotel – good value and everything running efficiently with friendly and helpful staff. Top tips – there is an ATM tucked away by the toilets near reception AND the omelette man is tucked away in the corner if you like eggs at breakfast. We didn’t spot him for 3 days!
This is a nicely appointed "resort" situated out of the hustle and bustle of downtown Trujillo. The staff is attentive and the grounds are kept very clean. The rooms are typical of a Wyndham hotel anywhere. It is hard to escape the dampness that comes from being by the ocean. So, if you can't keep the air conditioning on to reduce that dampness, you may be uncomfortable. The rooms do not have an iron and ironing board. This was a bit disappointing as I had several business meetings and dinners to attend. There is a restaurant and a bar. The staff in both are lovely and attentive. The food that I had during my stay was very good. The bar is limited in size, but the nights that I was there there weren't many people and the bartender was great. Though this is a lovely compound, it is just that. You will need to cab into Trujillo. That is a bit of a drawback. However, if you don't really need to get downtown, this is a great spot to relax.
