Hotel Roma

Our room was a little larger than the typical European hotel room and had a hide-a-bed couch besides two twin beds. Conveniently located near the town square, the port, and the train station, this clean and up-to-date hotel is a perfect place for a good nights sleep. I can forgive them that the lift/elevator wasn't working when we stayed there, but, I would not have wished to have stayed a long visit without it functioning since the beautiful breakfast room is located on the top (5th) floor and that is quite a hike. The breakfast was fresh and varied with fruit, yogurt, eggs, meat and cheese, pastries and the like. Some in our group especially liked the hot chocolate/coffee machine. Staff was very friendly and the shower nice and hot!

Getting a good room in Trieste for a decent price is a bit of a challenge. The Hotel Roma has the feel of a thousand other pensions in Italy. A tiny check-in. Tiny elevator and a room that is made to crash. The charm factor is just about zero. All in all, for the right price, this place would be acceptable as it is within walking distance of the sights. The first problem we had was where to put the car. The front desk was not exactly helpful as they just pointed out areas around the hotel that were perpetually full. We ended up parking it for the night underground close by. If driving through, it's passible.

Location: on one hand good, close to the city center. On the other hand not so good, close to the railway station. Rooms: clean and spacious, but across the main building (then it's apartment house, not a hotel) with uncomfortable beds. Excellent breakfast.

Excellent location, the room is renovated and clean. The restaurant is new, and The breakfast is varied. The price is affordable! The only problem is parking in general in Trieste. I would recommend to friends

Hotel is next to the city centre about 5 to 10 min by walk. Staff in hotel is very kind and servant. If they had better beds in room score rating would be better. Food at breakfast was very good, not like other hotels in that class.

Booked in here by my client; perfectly adequate hotel, no frills. Clean, easy access for disabled (stair lift to first floor and lifts). Breakfast served buffet style (on top floor), quite adequate selection. Very handy for railyway and the northern part of the city centre - easy walking distance to most places. Not massively surrounded by eateries. Fridge in room, cups and wine glasses - buit no tea/coffee making facilities. Good shower/loo (my shower didn't drain too well) and separate small dressing area (though my wardrobes had a broken mirror-fronted door). TV OK - took somew time to work how to operate it. Would have been helpful to give me the (free) wifi passcode when I checked in, however. Plpenty of plug sockets for charging and using phones, laptops, etc. Helpful English-speaking staff on reception. All in all OK; may return on next visit, but a few more creature comforts would be nice!

clean, well-kept, modernized well. Excellent international breakfast. kind staff. good prices for the type of hotel. Really recommended. close to the city center, train station and public transport; also excellent for a tourist trip

I did book this hotel for just one night as I will returning home the next day but was pleasantly surprised. Small but comfortable rooms at a fair price. Helpful and friendly staff. Hotel is well located near the bus station.

We needed one night to be able to make the cruise ship the next morning. It is close to the port but I wouldn't walk it while dragging luggage because of the uneven pavement. The cab ride was cheap and the front desk will call it for you. The rooms are simple but as I said, nothing fancy and does the job. There were a few stores around it, a couple of cafés and an ice cream place that was pretty good. The elevator stops between floors so you will have to carry your luggage up/down about 5 or 6 stairs. The main downtown area is about a 7 minute walk away with lots of shops and restaurants.

We stayed here for one night on our way to Vicenza. Staff was polite, our room large and clean. Our bed was not particularly comfortable (mattress on the double bed was sagging). The breakfast however was a pleasant surprise - quite good and plenty to choose from; breakfast room was also very cute and cosy. The hotel is centrally located, overlooking a main street but there isn't a parking so you have to find a place on one of the streets near the hotel.
