The owner had allowed the cabin to be double booked. We arrived at the cabin after a 4 1/2 hour drive to find that there were already people staying in the cabin. Visit Up North Vacation Rentals saved the day! 5 stars for Visit Up North!

Rustic

Cottage was a bit more rustic than pictures indicated. It was very musty when we got there. Had to air it out and burn candles to help the smell. Water is very mineral smelling. Recommend bringing your own drinking water. Beds were comfy. Loved the life view, bonfires at night and close proximity to vineyards,

Summer Fun

What a perfect place to kick-off our summer! We spent our days exploring the peninsula, TC area and even made it down to Sleeping Bear Dunes, Empire and the Cherry Bowl! The lake was warm and we spent hours each day swimming in the clear, sandy bottomed water. The cottage was fully stocked and a great home base for all of our adventures. The beds were comfortable and the cottage was plenty big enough for the three of us. We would definitely return!

Lake was great, cabin was just OK

This lake is so calm and relaxing - we loved every minute of it! We had a storm roll though one day, so the water was very choppy that day, but even that was fun to watch. The little beach was perfect for our 3 year old. And we loved how shallow the water was (it's 2-3 feet deep well past the end of the dock). The cabin itself is definitely an old fishing village type cabin. The kitchen is stocked but basic (no dishwasher or oven, though there is a toaster over). The middle shelf in the fridge fell every time we put anything on it so we just removed it while we were there. The living room furniture is fairly comfortable...though the rocker/recliner by the back door was rigged with what appeared to be the handle of a paint roller. The wall decorations throughout the house need to be updated severely. This place is no longer a 1930's fishing village - please update the décor accordingly. The overall cleanliness of the cabin was just OK - it's clear the cleaning person does a basic surface clean. I moved the toaster and the counter underneath was full of crumbs, there were cobwebs in nearly every corner, and the drawer where the trash can is was dirty (and there was no bag, but whatever there...we brought some). Also, there is no AC. They do provide VERY dirty box fans in each room though. Lastly, be prepared to have your backyard time invaded by the neighbor, Gary. I was relaxing on the beach with a book when he broke out his chainsaw and started cutting up a tree in his yard...and then he came over to our yard and started cutting up limbs there. He informed me that he "takes care of the properties but doesn't clean or anything." Cool story, but please go away. The next day, while we were gone, he took the zero-gravity chairs from our property and gave them to the next door neighbors (also a Vrbo property managed by Visit Up North)! She came over and asked me if it was OK that they had the chairs...she said Gary brought them over because "he didn't think we were using them." To me, he felt entitled, intrusive and much like the village nib-nose. We will be coming back to this lake, but definitely not this cabin.

spacious lakefront cabin

We enjoyed our stay at this spacious lakefront cabin. It was more than enough room for our family inside the cabin as well as plenty of outdoor seating. Nice deck with beautiful view of the lake, gas grill and also an area to have a campfire. Kitchen was well equiped making it easy to prepare meals if you don't want to go out. We were glad that we brought a Brita to filter the water for drinking and making coffee. Hand soap for bathroom and large (kitchen) garbage bags (beyond 1) were not provided.

Cozy & Well-Equipped Cabin by the Lake

This cabin was very cozy, in a beautiful, quiet setting in the woods and had a very well-eqipped kitchen. It was a great place to spend time as a family.

Received call no heat said it be fixed next day gave us a small credit,than was fixed last day of our stay I think we should have had bigger credit for no heat at night

Awesome

Loved the place. The spot on the lake was amazing. The fire, pit chairs, dock, etc… Would definitely stay there again! (Only program was the heat! Was 90 ish degrees when we walked in. We turned thermostat off snd it wouldn’t turn off. Unplugged it & it still wouldn’t turn off. Place filled up with gas but we finally figured out how to shut off the gas. Had to call someone to bring a space heater)

Nice cabin

This cabin was nice and could accommodate our whole family if we wanted to bring back our girls in the future. It was just my husband and I as we were on an anniversary trip. It is waterfront with a beautiful view. There is a small sandy area along the water that would be nice for small kids to play in. It was centrally located to the things we wanted to do.

Perfect Stay

This property was wonderful - I cannot say enough great things about our trip here. It was very clean and ready for us when we arrived. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything imaginable. Linens and beds were comfortable. It was very quaint, quiet, and homey. We will be staying here again! *Note- the cabin has hard water, so just be prepared if your not use to that.
