Lovely House, Great Location, Responsive Management
Review Part 1: We stayed here for a week in June 2025. This property is a little 1950s vintage cottage, beautifully (and recently) renovated. The master bedroom is large and has a queen-size bed and lots of hanging and shelf space in the closet. The other bedroom is tiny with a full-size bed and very little storage. Whoever is in the big bedroom will need to share space with whoever is in the small one. The listing says it sleeps 6, but that is with 2 people on the futon on the enclosed porch/dining room. There is only one bathroom, which can be a little tricky when everyone’s trying to go out at the same time, but the outdoor shower is really nice, and takes some of that load off. The kitchen is really well equipped. There are actually usable knives! There’s a coffee maker, an espresso maker and a tea kettle (no pot); a gas range and a microwave. The A/C works well, and there’s a ceiling fan in every room. There is a plethora of interesting light fixtures. Your first adventure will be to find all the switches! The house is right on M-22, but the traffic noise was never a problem. It has a spectacular 4-level deck which we didn’t use – we went directly to the firepit on the beach. There are several Adirondack chairs as well as some beach toys.

Anniversary Get away
We had a wonderful time sitting on the patio and watching the bay. A great location giving access to Suttons Bay where we found some great small town charm.

Great location and views
The website does an accurate job of capturing the views over the West Arm of Grand Traverse Bay. The house appears to have been recently updated and is well done. Plenty of space for a couple. Also, perfectly located. Easy to scoot down into Traverse City, but also up to wineries and towns on Leelanau peninsula. The management company was communicative and easy to contact. Would recommend and I would go back.
Two small gripes. One, when we arrived, fruit flies everywhere. I think it is an issue of the area as we saw them all over the place (many vineyards and orchards after all). But the house itself was very clean. No food or garbage to attract them. We just set out some vinegar bowls/traps and problem solved.
The second is a common issue to every VRBO I have ever rented that advertises a grill being available on site. I have never found them to be useable without spending a considerable amount of time cleaning the grill body and crates. I mean the thing looked like it had been used for several summers and never once been cleaned. If houses on VRBO are going to advertise grills, I think grills should be inspected and cleaned, if needed, just as if they were part of the kitchen.

Great location away from town, relaxing by the lake on the deck was a perfect way to end each day. Close to many wineries, shops and restaurants.

Lovely location, some quirks, but very nice
House feels new. Being right on the lake is fantastic. There is one single kayak and a stand up paddle board. We called a rental place in Sutton's bay and they dropped off a 2 person kayak that we rented for a couple of days. The road noise is a bit annoying but when you're down by the lake or in the back of the house you barely notice it.
The air conditioner is somewhat noisy also, don't know about the furnace. The master bedroom is very comfortable, the front bedroom is noisier because it faces the street. Also, sleeping 6 is a bit of a stretch. There's a bed in the small bedroom and a futon on the sleeping porch, but for two adults and two larger kids (teens) it was fine for a few nights. One bathroom is slightly constraining so I'd recommend this place most for a family with a couple of smaller kids at most.
Suttons Bay is a 10 min drive, which is a great place for restaurants. A great location. Overall, we enjoyed our stay but will search for a quieter place next time.

Exceeds expectations
I highly recommend this property, it is a great location and the water is beautiful in front of the property. The property managers were very easy to work with and accommodating. I felt that as nice as the place looks in the photos it is even better in person; and the house is nicely equipped with so many things one might want, we will be back!

Awesome Stay and Views
This rental property was everything we wanted and more. The views of the morning sunrise were amazing. This house had every little thing you would need. Everything was very clean and the towels were like clouds of softness. The kitchen is nicely stocked along with every other room. The bottle of champagne was a nice touch. There was plenty of wood for an outside fire but it was a little too cold for us this time of year so we skipped doing that this time. We definitely look forward to coming back here again on our next trip to Michigan.
